I got my Xfinity Mobile SIM today. Called and got it activated. Took the line a few minutes to activate. Now it seems to be working, but I am still struggling to get the voicemails to work. I can tell you - whenever you switch out the physical sim, you lose your greeting on both voicemails. I had a hard time setting the greetings. I rebooted the phone and was able to set my AT&T voicemail. My Xfinity mobile voicemail still said "Voicemail Unavailable". So then I turned off my AT&T line and my Xfinity became my main line. Finally I was able to get it to set that voicemail up and set the greeting. Then I turned my AT&T line back on. Still give me some hassle messing with custom greetings. I called both lines though and the last greetings I set are still what is heard. So it seems I finally have AT&T and VZW on my phone. Best yet, since I have Xfinity internet and will use AT&T for my data, my "by the gig" plan with Xfinity Mobile will be $1.67/mo. :D
Which device did you activate on XFM? I have a XS Max that they have been unable to activate. They tell me it’s not compatible....

I have an XS. It definitely took some time to activate. The connection still seems a little strange. When I am home, sometimes it stops showing "Xfinity Mobile" When I try to make a call from that line, it takes a long time to try to connect, then it starts ringing like normal. I have gotten a couple incoming calls on it though, so it is working. When it stops showing Xfinity Mobile, I switch it to airplane mode and come back out and then it shows Xfinity Mobile.

So no trouble from Xfinity while trying to activate, specially with your IMEI? Who did you initially have service with?

AT&T. You phone has 2 IMEI's - one for the esim and one for the physical sim. The guy at the AT&T store showed me that. So when I called Xfinity, my esim info was completely populated and the physical sim slot only showed an IMEI number. I gave the guy that. He asked "Are you calling from another phone?" I was like "Well, not really. I'm activating this on a second sim in my phone." As he was going over instructions after he had done everything, I inserted the sim and that dropped the call. lol. Oops.

Just got the AT&T eSIM activated on my line 11/5/18. Called around to a few authorized retailers in my area to see if any had the eSIM cards in stock. When I was there he said I was the first done in their region. I'm in Tampa Bay. Also I'm on an AT&T small business account. Ported my work number to Sprint's "free year of service" and am using that in my physical SIM slot. I have my personal number (AT&T) configured as the primary line for data and iMessage.

Mine is AT&T as well - and I've tried giving Xfinity both IMEIs but when they enter them in on their end, it continues to come back as "Device not compatible". Same happens when I input it on Verizon's BYOD page...

Do you have an older iPhone you can use to get a BYOD SIM instead? The Xfinity Mobile SIM cards are hot swappable, so if you can use an old iPhone that shows up as compatible, or even someone else's that is compatible, all you have to do is pop the Xfinity Mobile SIM into your XS once the SIM is active and it will work. You can also try to explain the situation to a mobile rep and ask them to use the IMEI of a floor unit iPhone just so you can get a SIM activated. All US model XS and XS Max are the same model number, and compatible on every US carrier.

I’ve had the same problem with an AT&T XS Max on Verizon. We went through tier 3 tech support without any luck. We ended up exchanging the phone at Apple for a Verizon XS Max. Now I have a Verizon sim and AT&T esim.

How were you able to get it swapped out or were you in the return period?
After going through a business account with Verizon, I was able to have my unlocked iPhone IMEI added to their database.

I was on day 30 but we explained to the manager that we needed a Verizon phone and that Verizon would not accept the AT&T phone, he accepted the exchange.

It was an authorized retailer in Clearwater. I would just call the authorized retailers and ask. I only got away with it because I told them I had the eSIM and it got deleted so I needed a replacement lol.

Just had a very surprising on line chart with AT&T support staff. I was prepared answer on eSIM would be the same corp BS, out of my surprise, he asked me which BETA software version that I am running. After I told him that I am on 12.1.1 Beta2, he said eSIM is available to be activated on my device. Then asked my zip code, and checked nearest AT&T store in my area who has the eSIM QR code card (the blue one), and even made an appointment for me at store to activate my eSIM. Also told me that he had updated notes on my account to ensure the proper service from the store. This is almost "to good to be true" based on all the customer service experiences that I had with any cell phone companies in the past........ I guess that I will find out tomorrow if all became true.

Wow !! Would be watching to know if its true.

I guess the feeling of "too good to be true" is always right. AT&T store has specific instruction the "DO NOT" activate any eSIM, and all eSIM inventory "NEED TO BE SECURED" as store manager showed me the corp memo. So, no luck still. I guess will just have to wait until official release by AT&T then.

Is anyone with Verizon as sim and At&t on esim having issues with cellular data. Im having to reboot the phone alot with both services turned on. Even when At&t has not signal and verizon is full data isnt working. Tried reset network settings and the usual. Can turn off At&t plan and works great.

No issues and running same set up. ATT esim and Verizon physical sim. Have tried resetting by pulling out physical sim and soft resetting phone?

Tried that and still the same. Data wont work when does very slow. Restarting phone will sometimes help. Turn off e sim and no issues.

And you put the esim number from your phone settings and it works
How did you get this to work? I just spoke with att customer service and they stated that they are not supporting eSIM technology until 2019. I have 2 att phones, one I use for work, 1 I use for personal. I want to take my personal line and xfer it to the eSim so I can have both lines on the XS. I never use visual voice mail (which apparently was the delay for att supporting this feature) . If you were able to make this work legitimately without jailbreaking, please share. Perhaps I spoke with someone who had no idea what she was talking about.

Good news.

Now the only company not to have seemed making any efforts whatsoever is T-Mobile. What a dissapointment that is. All they do is point to Apple and that they're working on an amazing experience, but at least AT&T already has esim QR codes, and Verizon had a support document online already so we know they have been working on this.

John Legere meanwhile keeps quiet.
