Alright friends, I'm nearing the end of my favorite batch of beans from Tim Hortons and am seeking recommendations for something different to try.

The primary use will be in French Press and I prefer a blended coffee over a single-origin and really enjoy a sweet and smooth smelling and tasting coffee.

Here is what I've tried in the past, to avoid getting recommendations on them again.

  • Blue Bottle - Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Konga Sedie Natural
  • Blue Bottle - Three Africans
  • Silver Bridge Coffee Company - Silver Bridge Blend

So, if anyone has something they think I'd enjoy, please let me know. Image

I might be suggesting a horrific act, but I've used SM's Liquid Amber in the FP to great effect. ;)

No question...Starbucks French Roast. Smooth, rich, complex, with a touch of burnt tire, George Costanza's leather wallet, and a finish reminiscent of dirty dishtowel.

Can't miss...

Bwahahahaha!:p

That I can try right now as I still have some from the last batch. I've not tried it in anything but espresso yet.

I can always depend on you for a good, honest and quality recommendation.

SM's Liquid Amber (when I get home, if I manage to get home soon where Liquid Amber awaits me) is destined for my FP, too, so nothing to feel ashamed of, there….

'Objective', is the word we seek, SBG. Objective. To which we can add, impartial, unbiased, utterly detached in analysis….

You seem awfully sure of yourself. Image

I'm smiling...

Highly recommended.

I ran across this article on Mashable, via Twitter today.

The ROI of Your Office Espresso Machine
In-office caffeine drip for the team
I’m a proponent of expensive office coffee machines. That endorsement is often met with laughs, but consider the ROI of a $5,000 espresso machine. Without it, your team members will likely make at least one, if not multiple, trips to Starbucks or Blue Bottle throughout the day. They'll yawn through afternoon meetings and, to make it worse, they might groan about their coffee addiction all the while.

And if you're more analytical, just do the math: If you have an employee that makes $100,000 a year or $50/hour ($65/hour "fully loaded"), that means a 15-minute Starbucks run will cost you $16 of lost productivity. If he or she’s making that coffee run two times a day, that’s $160 of lost productivity per week. If he or she’s making that coffee run two times a day, that’s $160 of lost productivity per week. So when it comes to keeping 10 engineers caffeinated, the $5,000 machine pays for itself in less than a month.

It’s more than just that straight productivity. If it costs just a few thousand dollars to make your team happier and more present, then that Jura or De'Longhi machine — or many of them as you spread across multiple floors of a building — is a no-brainer.

When The Great God Dyzan created the Universe, it was decreed that a few things are beyond ROI. Macs. First Class. A glass of cold, clear spring water. And, most certainly, correctly prepared espresso.*

* only the crap is subject to an ROI analysis.

Funny I came across this thread ... I tried my new French Press today and was sending a pic to a friend so I thought I'd share here too. The beans I used were also new to me Kicking Horse - Kick Ass (Dark). https://www.kickinghorsecoffee.com/en/store/coffee/kick-ass-dark. I was blown away - it was the best coffee I've ever had to date. I even had a few sips without adding a splash of cream to it which I never do - the flavour was that good!

Very nice! Your French Press looks exactly like the one I have and I see you have a Tim Hortons mug. Excellent!
