Bought some beans in a Waitrose shop this afternoon. Not a shop I usually use but saw these beans with a roasted on date. Something not usually seen on supermarket beans. Well I was pleased with myself and my little find until I got home and noticed the date was 2017!!! Doh!

And the Moral of the Story Is: Do Not Buy Your Coffee In A Supermarket.....

Mine, without exception, comes from small artisan roasters and coffee shops, or reputable companies such as The Ethiopian Coffee Company.

Yes, lesson learned. Don’t usually buy from supermarkets but as I say, saw these with a roasted on date ( yes yes, I should of read the date...)

Now, do I drive the 20 minutes and 10 miles to return or just keep and give em a go? Probably the latter.

I made nearly the exact same thing with the Kenyan beans I roasted yesterday. I don’t have any shortbread, but I could sure go for a couple pieces.

It - the choice for an afternoon snack with my coffee - was either shortbread or chocolate, and I love that 'hit' that a combination of sweet & salty offers. So, shortbread. Butterscotch and salted caramel are other favourites.

Hope you enjoyed your Kenyan coffee with hot milk and brown sugar.

Shortbread and scotch are a fine combination.

Currently having some sencha and coconut strips.

Have just prepared a second mug (Le Creuset) of Kenyan coffee, this time with hot milk (organic, full fat) and organic brown sugar. Outside, it is chucking down and is still surprisingly chilly.

Very cold here in NW England. My girlfriend and I have just placed “throws” over our legs whilst watching Pride and Prejudice. We both feel like a couple of old codgers! No coffee but hot tea instead.

Agreed, it is seriously and unseasonably cold; I am currently home on leave, and, here in the house, the heating is still on full blast.

Just now, I am wearing woollen twill trousers, woollen socks, and a cashmere pullover over a polo-neck (turtleneck to Our Transatlantic Cousins). Now, I will admit that I am one of those people who has always felt the cold, but, yes, brrr.

But warming coffee is very welcome; what is funny is that when I am working in hot climates I feel no need to add sugar to my coffee, but here, while it remains this cold, I would find it hard to take coffee without sugar.

Lying in bed and enjoying my new mattress. Feel like Sleeping Beauty.
Will not let it go more then 3 yrs before I change again.
Was probably 5 yrs since I bought the bed new, so was about time.
So much better sleep with a fresh one, with todays evolved technology.

Just had a very tasteful strong dark roast cappuccino of one of the Douwe Egbert’s blends.
Will definitely buy more of those, they’ve grown on me. Think I have to make another one.

Wow, I even felt some spring here, when I was out on some errands earlier, before I went back to some more sleep. :)

Thank you Zenithal, for considering that a poem :)
I had no poetic intentions with that post though.

But it does happen that I write poems, though.

Just had a desired Cappuccino.

After some hassle with the espresso machine and the cleaning of the brewer unit, I got one.
The machine should tell me before it gets so messed up.
I totally missed checking it manually.

I will NOT pour any Coffee on this new beautifully and sleek Space Gray Magic Keyboard, I will NOT!
It’s usually how keyboards here gets dysfunctional.
Now moving the coaster even further away from it.
