Have you invested in a fan?

Very useful, if rather redolent of those TV programmes based on the short stories of Somerset Maugham I saw as a child where fans were always slowly whirring in the ceilings and the air outside was thick with the sound of crickets.
No I have not - except a tiny desktop usb fan.

Given the increasing frequency of heatwaves it would be a good idea and I actually find the sound soothing at night - I even have some relaxation/sleep apps with fan sounds among others.

Lucky you, I suppose the heat wave we have down here is a bit worse as I am roasting at night - with fitful sleep as a result. Lots of fluid are a necessity.
Heatwave here too, 30C°

When I meditate before I go to sleep. I usually go deeper in my sleep, which results in longer sleep when needed. Try it.
I drank 2 1/2 of my 40 oz Klean Kanteen waterbottle's directly upon awakening :p (that icon symbolizes a dog with tongue hanging today). Then Cappuccino, and now I'm on to moooore water, and Kombucha.

I recommend investing in a few fans.

A few weeks ago, we invested in three.

One for my mother's room, one for my study, and one for the live-in carer. Invaluable.

And each and every fan - all three of them - can be moved around as needed.

Ans yes, lots of fluids. I have large glass of mineral water on my bedside table every night, with a bottle to hand to replenish it, as needed.

Enjoyed a couple of cups of Dave's Coffee "Big and Fruity" blend. A very tasty special blend that Dave's made. The profits went to support the local Providence, RI LGBTQ youth community. Nice to see a company do something nice for others and put out a very good product at the same time.

This morning, I juggled the proportions, and tried a blend where the predominant flavour was from the Yemeni coffee (a 'mocha AA'), with the Ethiopian and Kenyan playing minor notes and taking lesser roles; I realise that I prefer the coffee to have a greater percentage of Ethiopian - perhaps matching the Yemeni, while the Kenyan can play a more muted background role, adding depth of flavour to the cup when served.

An afternoon coffee, a blend of Ethiopian, and Yemeni coffee.

While I made it 50%-50%, I think that this should really be around 60%, if not slightly more - say, two thirds - Ethiopian to get the balance just right.

My colleague returned to the office today after her trip to New York and Boston. She brought me a New York Times and these beans from George Howell Coffee in Boston. Can’t wait to try these out at the weekend.

Been enjoying these in flat white’s recently. Very nice coffee.

You can not go wrong with that blend, having a cup of Kenyan with brown sugar and hot milk.

And a Kenyan with hot milk and brown sugar will always hit the spot as well.

I brought some Kenyan coffee back with me when I returned from Kenya - and , in addition, I am able to source decent Kenyan and Ethiopian coffee here. So, Ethiopian and Kenyan blends will continue to feature in my life.

However, the Yemeni coffee is a revelation - and, unfortunately, is very difficult to obtain for obvious and well-known reasons. In fact, I was lucky to be able to acquire two bags when offered them a short while ago.

But, for now, I am enjoying experimenting with coffees from the three countries, three of the best places on the planet for good coffee.
