Scepticalscribe, I've noticed you tend to pick a coffee then drink nothing but that until it runs out. All your recent posts are about your Bosnia coffee, for example.

Do you not mix it up (e.g. have the occasional Kenyan) because you like to be so consistent, because you like to use up beans as quickly as you can, or just for ease? Genuinely curious, as I prefer to rotate through what I have for the variety.

Good question:

I was in Bosnia in October - for their elections - and bought some coffee while there, as it is an ancient coffee culture.

To be perfectly honest, if I don't drink it now, I won't drink it, because I far prefer the coffees of Ethiopia, Yemen (when I can lay hands on them) and Kenya. So, yes, to answer your question, I wish to use this up as quickly as possible, and then return to the coffees I love.

Recently, I found myself perusing the website of the Ethiopian Coffee Company, and had to restrain myself.

Now, I will admit that the Bosnian coffee would make excellent espresso; however, for a French press and/or Hario dripper method, I prefer the coffees from the Horn of Africa.

Thanks for answering. Actually, when I gave the option of you just wanting to use up the beans, it was out of a potential desire to use beans as fresh as possible rather than wanting to use them up quickly so you can go back to better coffees!

It must take some willpower not to just chuck them and go back to something you prefer. You're good for the environment :)

Having a yummy afternoon black chai tea.
What I really love is the coconut milk powder that I’ve found, it never gets sour. That the fresh one can do.
I don’t use it for Cappuccino, only cowmilk do for that.
But for tea, coconut milk powder is really delicious.

I see the Sage Barista is on sale today on Amazon UK. This is the same machine I have. I thoroughly recommend it.

Avoiding coffee and black tea for a few weeks to get rid of this dry throat before it develops into a nasty cough.

It's a shame because I had a dream the other day where I made a piping hot mug of coffee using one of my SS mokas. Oh, well, it'll come out to play in a few weeks.

Drink plenty of scalding hot tea. I find that this helps when I have a sore throat - just don't make the tea too strong.

Sparkling water also eases sore or scratchy throats, in my experience.

Enjoyed my Bosnian coffee (with raw organic double cream, and organic brown sugar).

My GP recommends drinking plenty of cooled boiled water at a warm temperature. He says it the best thing to lubricate the throat. Too hot or too cold won’t do as it does not “absorb” into the throat.

A delicious Cappuccino this bright day :)

For the throat, btw. Working myself back to the 30 minutes I used to stand in this pose some yrs ago.
Great benefits for focus, combustion and super good for the throat, and health in general.
This is the queen of asanas: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarvangasana
Just don't try to do it without proper guidance ;)

Not sore. Just a dry, parched one. Lemon and ginger tea has been my mainstay for a few days. 6-10 cups a day. Don't use honey. I find it further irritates my throat and exasperates any lingering cough.

Ordinary tea would probably work well, also, as would mint tea. Personally, I am pretty partial to chai.

And, for me, sparkling mineral water is something that I find eases my throat - especially when I have a sore throat, or a scratchy one.

But, above all, it is important to stay hydrated.

Bosnian coffee coming up.
