I meant to mention that in one of my favourite coffee shops (after a very early discussion on the merits of proper cups, pottery or porcelain cups rather than plastic or paper cups, and my marked preference for coffee served in a 'real' cup, paper or plastic is fine for 'on th ego', but, in a coffee shop I far prefer the real thing), without even ever having had to refer to this again, I have noticed that whenever I have coffee there, it is always served (beautifully) in a gorgeous ceramic mug.

Wonderful.

I've been using Nespresso since early 2009 for at-home convenience, basically.
The quality of the pods and the coffee (not only nespresso original pods, but other makers too) is very good for this kind of domestic application, but I do miss the espresso daily culture of my home country.

I have to admit that I started enjoying the routine of grinding my own coffee, and enjoy americano coffee too.

Maybe in the future I'll move to another espresso solution (coffeehouse type espresso machine), but I need the room first ^^'

I've been finishing up some coffee from Sumatra. It's from a different source than some Sumatra coffee that I've had previously.

Back when I started paying attention to what the roasters listed as cupping notes, I found that chocolate was one that was easy to identify, and maybe the easiest to identify. This recent batch of beans has chocolate as a cupping note, but it also has pepper listed. The chocolate appears first, but then the black pepper takes over......there's no missing it.

Black pepper is fine in its usual places......but no, I don't find it's a flavor I want in my coffee

I have not had my coffee yet this morning. I am irritable with a foul disposition -- so, please do not respond in any way to this message as I will surely misinterpret it to mean you that disagree with me about something. My views on the healing qualities of coffee stand and I am heading to the kitchen immediately to remedy my situation. Thank you for your time.

Feeling much better now. Delicious home brewed Kona coffee solves almost any problem.

Very glad to read that the restorative effects of Kona coffee are still valid.

I completely concur with your observation that the healing qualities of coffee are unmatched.

The message on this mug expresses (succinctly) exactly how I feel before I have had 9sipped, savoured, enjoyed) my first coffee of the day.

I am not - or, do not feel - human, or that I can willingly engage with the human race - until then.

As a night shift worker -- in a large hospital -- I am dependent on coffee (sometimes tea) to keep me alert and productive at work. Sleeping or dozing on the job is grounds for termination in most cases.

So I work long 12 hour shifts, but only obligated to work 3 days a week. That means I occasionally have stretches of 4-day or even 5-day weekends.

Sometimes, I attempt to "convert back" to being a daytime person when I have several days off. I have errands to do. I have things to fix at home. I have friends and family to meet with (all who are daytime people). And then I make the mistake of.... skipping the coffee.

Eventually I realize that "something is off" about me. I'm sluggish. My mind is not as sharp as normal, even if I've had plenty of sleep. My mood is flat. I'm thinking this is caffeine withdrawal?

I still have a few Kona Nespresso capsules (like 20).

it's a very good cofee, no doubt

I think I should somehow get my hands on some Kona.
I second that thought.

Today, I purchased - in an Italian coffee shop - a packet of their coffee (Torrefazione Centrocaff Natali) as an emergency backup supply, because, twice, in recent months, I have run out completely, the weather impeding and preventing a swift dash out to replenish supplies.

That's a wise thing to do.

I've recently set aside an unopened small package of Rwanda beans as an emergency supply......hopefully there won't be any more desperate moments while waiting for a resupply to arrive

Circumstances dictated that I take this step.

Actually, it - running completely out of coffee - has happened twice in the past six weeks, - most inconveniently - leaving me entirely without coffee for a day or so on each occasion, the ceaseless downpour discouraging venturing out to remedy this deficiency.

So, my robust Italian coffee (I've just been looking it up, but I have had it served as either an espresso macchiato or as a flat white in the actual Italian coffee shop and it is a perfectly agreeable, if rather robust, coffee) shall do duty as an emergency (unopened) supply, - while I am waiting to replenish my more usual single origin estate coffees...

I am delighted to be able to report that I am now in possession of McVitie's Dark Chocolate Digestives - my local store owner (having attempted to obtain them for me for ages) dropped two (warmly welcomed) packets to my house, earlier this afternoon.

Wonderful.

It is pouring outside, and that means that coffee and biscuits (dark chocolate biscuits) may be consumed in the near future.

Don't forget, if you are near an Aldi, they have the same biscuits, but with the Belmont brand. Presumably made by McVitie's, but re-packaged.
