I ordered a 256 GB Natural Titanium Pro Max for in store pickup on launch day in Germany 🇩🇪 and my card just got charged 🎉 Those who ordered for in store pickup should also be getting charged now.

On a side note, while reading the thread here, I'm not sure how I even managed a slot for launch day pickup given that I only managed to access the Apple store at like 14:20, and this was with 5 devices, mobile & wifi network and also using different browsers 🤦‍♂️ It was quite nerve-wracking 😬

Very likely because you chose in-store pickup. When I was living in London I always had better availability with the in-store pickup versus home delivery :D

Here in Munich i would have gotten the IP15PM black titanium with store pick up (while it was already sold out) but the titanium was already unavailable around 14:18

Me and it's so weird because I placed the order at 2:05. Really hoping it'll arrive on Friday and I wish there was a way to check the status of it right now ;)
 
Is it normal that they already charged me for In-Store pickup? I swear in the past I paid when I picked it up. In fact, you could just not show up and the order would get automatically cancelled after 2 weeks

In my experience that’s how it’s usually been, at least for the past few years (for pickups in Germany, not sure if it’s the same in other countries). I’ve already gotten charged for both my phone & watch pickup this Friday.

Strange! Also Germany. I remember when I pre-ordered an iPad Air 4, I changed my mind because I found it elsewhere faster and I just cancelled it (no charge beforehand). Oh well, does not really matter. Have to pay it anyway haha
 
My Credit Card hasn’t been charged yet. I expect to be charged tomorrow or Thursday max, same as last year.

My MediaMarkt order just changed to "preparing" and "delivery on September 22nd". 🎉
Fingers crossed this really happens. My Apple order for October 4th - 11th has not moved.

Interesting! When did you order with MediaMarkt? I did the same with Saturn, at 14:33. I also have an Apple order for 4th to 11th. I asked Saturn on Twitter if they're guaranteeing delivery on the 22nd and they just said so far they think so. Their website still promises 22nd for new order, which is an odd one.

That's really odd. Should they still have stock? I ordered shortly after 14:00 because the Apple site and app wouldn't let me do anything. My confirmation email is from 14:07. I had an email conversation with their customer service today. They told me my order will be delivered on the 22nd. Which doesn't have to mean anything. That's why I wrote "fingers crossed". Would be nice if it came considerably faster than the Apple order though.

I think either they're really confident they'll get enough devices, or they're using the uncertainty to their advantage to get more orders in, expecting that not many people will actually cancel when there are inevitable delays. I suspect the second but hope for the first. It would be terrible for brand image though and a lot less people would pre-order from them next time.

I will never ever pre order at Media Markt again. At the 13 pro I ordered within 5 minutes the pre order began and got delivery exactly after one week of release even though it said delivery date at release.
Last year it got really bad. I ordered the 14 pro immediately again and it said „delivery at release day“ all the time. One day before release they sent me an email that they didn’t got any phones from apple yet and delivery will be delayed. After one week of release day they sent me an mail that they MAYBE will get phones from apple first October week. I cancelled and bought at a small shop who luckily got one last 14 pro left.

This is what I'm suspecting, sadly. The fact that they still say all iPhone 15s will be delivered this Friday is just really fishy. They know less people will order if they're more honest. Annoyingly with MediaMarkt and Saturn, you need to phone them to cancel an order and it's often very difficult to get through.

Edit: I asked them on Twitter. They try to switch people to DM but then they stop replying. I asked them in another thread whether they should update their website or not, as it still says Friday for new orders even though this would be a miracle. In this case, they reply instantly saying they'll update it when they have info about their deliveries. Which is very cynical. They're promising Friday delivery even though they have no concrete info about how many phones they'll receive, if even any.

Apple just charged my credit card fully (no longer just "reserved"), but the order status still says "Preparing to Ship".

Still crossing fingers for no eff ups - DHL, I'm looking at you - and that I get it come Friday. :)
 
Just got a package announcement from c/o DHL Solutions GmbHCBS UK, estimated delivery on Friday, Germany. Must be the iPhone.
