I actually never really cared for that Nike band….. but does it ever look good on that white ceramic. It’s nuts how that watch makes certain bands pop!

I am such a convert to the Ceramic. I never bought it when it was first around but after seeing it here time after time and always saying to myself, as you just did, "It's nuts how that watch makes bands pop!"--I had to get one. I have never looked back. Will we ever see it as a Series 9? Who knows. But the Series 5 option is still so strong. Love it!

Nike faces are a nice second act for it

They should have released a ceramic variant for S8 since it was such a blah upgrade year over the S7. It would have made my decision a litter harder over blindly buying the ultra!

No one bought the ceramic, I think it’s safe to say people inside the company not named Jony loathed the thing. I even wonder if the Titanium edition were not also a sales dog/waste of time for Tim. I think the marketing story “an Apple Watch that shatters if you drop it” is not one they were ever keen on.

It may shatter, but damn, it's a "band-whisperer" to so many colors, bringing out a warmth and glow that feels as good as it looks. Actually, I've found the ceramic pretty darn resilient, too!

Yeah…. that likely plays into it for sure.

I don‘t know about loathed, but it is (was), as a product, very out-of-character for modern, mass-producing Apple. The production process, as described in the booklet that came with the (S2 only?) Watch, was quite complicated and convoluted. As such, it was clearly a Jony Ive vanity project and I don‘t think we‘ll ever see a new ceramic Watch. OTOH, experimenting with the material is still going on, as confirmed by the lovely new taupe colour ceramic back of the Ultra. So, never say never … 🤞

Maybe loathed the S0 edition, tolerated ol’ Humpty Dumpty case 😉

I just bought this on eBay - could someone PLEASE confirm that this is indeed a blue gen 2 sport band?
I’m not a band whisperer but it’s hard to tell without actual photos, not marketing ones

But from the marketing pics and model number listed it looks like a gen 2 when looking at Bandbreite
