I get that you want to do this „event“, but honestly you could just give „Band of the Year“ to the band that most users added to their collection (i.e. bought), no? It‘s called „voting with your wallet“.

To make it short from my perspective, the Oscar winning movies are not the biggest grossing movies, the best-selling books don't automatically win literary prizes. That’s it.

Additionally, it is a nice tradition looking back and recap the year.

Don’t get me wrong, as I have already (repeatedly) said, I‘m not against the Vote and will vote myself!

(That being said, your comparison doesn‘t really make sense, because the Oscars, literary prizes etc. that you mentioned are decided by panels of experts, and your BOTY is still a popular vote decided by anyone who wants to participate.)

AM I right in thinking somewhere there is a single big image that has all sport bands together so you can colour compare? If so, anyone have a copy of it/link to it etc?
