Volt is my least favourite band in my collection. I dislike it so much that it put me off getting any other Nike bands for ages. Ironically I wear it every day as it’s on the S4 I use for sleep tracking.

Conversely I really like my wife’s Pink Blast and I have a Hyper Grape on the way.

My friend has a silver watch with Nike Flat Silver/Volt...it was so gross, it put me off getting a watch. Now I kinda like that band, I almost want to get one. :)

I had to Google it to remind myself. I do remember when that first Nike watch came out thinking about getting one - I had an SS S0 - but I wanted the black / volt if I did, and it was only available on the SG, and I didn’t want the dark case (I’ve still never had one after 6 watches, though I’m tempted by SBSS) so I didn’t bother. I think I bought the black / volt as soon as it came available to buy separately, but I’ve never liked it since I got it.

Tastes change though - my SS S0 came with a black leather loop, and I bought a black sport band to go with it. I never liked the leather loop until fairly recently, and I now dislike the black sport band for being too black.

I’m still not feeling the need for a flat silver / volt :)

I have the 6 months. Actually, I have almost ten years. But I'm a few post short of 250. Guess that's what I guess for being mostly a lurker.
I think the 250 post minimum is a bit ridiculous. I have been a member for 16.5 years, but just rarely post. Plus I don’t see the benefit to just posting to reach the minimum. It just encourages useless posts. 100 posts with 6 month account would be than sufficient to achieve the same goal.

So, my fellow band geeks.. what do we think "Series X Bands" indicates?
I think this topic would do better as a separate post in this sub forum, rather than putting a lot of theories in a thread intended to be a resource for discussing and documenting actual new bands once they’re released.

(I’m also halfway wondering if it isn’t all just some random back office Target employee entering bogus items into the system temporarily, either in legitimate testing or for the lulz. But let‘s discuss that in its own thread.)

Me too! Ultraviolet is too hard to come by for most people.
Too hard To come by, and not purple enough. Too dark and too blue.

I only thought to bring it up since (literally only a few posts up) folks started posting about the upcoming season. Point your finger there as well while you’re at it ;)

Fair enough, point taken. My thought was, your topic is worthy of a few pages all on its own, while the usual color speculation is usually pretty short lived. I’m guilty of contributing to it as well, from time to time, but this immense thread serves as a huge resource for info on each successive generation of bands as they come out, and it would be good to try to keep it less cluttered with stuff that isn’t directly about actual released bands.

Alrighty then -- posted as suggested here.

When which months do seasonal colors usually drop?

Also, is light pink a rare color?

Around March 21st, unless COVID-19 has affected factories normal functioning in China, which is more than possible. Since March 21st falls on Saturday this year, my lucky guess is Friday 20th

Light pink was widely available when it was available (compared to, say, the Blue Orbit/Gamma Blue Nike band). Rarity becomes more a question of how many people want it who don't already have it. I haven't heard much clamoring for it. I have one, but when I wear it, it's mostly half Light Pink and half Mint. Nice pastels for spring.

Chargerstore on ebay shows Light Pink in stock for $20 over retail, which suggests it's slightly rare.

As far as when bands appear, I want to say it goes with the seasons, but actually it feels more like 3 times a year: fall (September-ish, in conjunction with presentation for new iPhones/Watches), spring (in conjunction with a spring presentation, if they have one, or just by press release, say, February-March-ish), and summer (mostly June, adjacent to WWDC, though they never talk about new bands during that keynote). And the new ones always seem to drop on a Tuesday (seems like a tradition for many Apple announcements - early in the week but not Monday). If you were interested, you could probably do a search on MacRumors (the main site, not the forums) for articles with "bands" in the title, and get a better idea.

& the small handful of December bands, I feel like those punch above their weight, especially if they don’t survive to see spring. Flash, pacific green, dark teal, spicy orange, mellow yellow, hibiscus (maybe haha)

eta: what band is grandma wearing in this new Apple/j&j heart study press shot? Obviously space gray gps but the band matches so nicely! Is it just bright lighting making the gray look lighter than usual and it’s just a black band?
