Wrt the „yet another blue“ posts ... please remember that us strap collecting freaks/veterans are just a (happy) minority. There are a lot more folks buying their first Apple Watch and/or only ever buying <5 straps in total. As blue is most people‘s favourite colour, it makes a ton of sense for Apple to always offer some sort of blue sport strap.

Other than that, my pet theory that Jony Ive hates the colour green has been validated once more ... we’re getting so many green bands since he left! Which is awesome.

A very good point, most shoppers will have a new Apple Watch and will be
looking for an option. Although new names for shades will always be forthcoming; best sellers such as blue pink white black and product red have to be available. I’ve also noticed there are usually recent oranges in supply when no new orange is released.

Hey guys, sorta new here. I've mocked up a few comparisons just for fun.

Pic 1:
Blue Orbit / Gamma Blue
Midnight Turquoise / Aurora Green
Celestial Teal / Black

Pic 2:
Black / Lime Blast
Black / Volt
Black / Pink Blast

Pic 3:
Blue (first generation)
Denim Blue
Royal Blue
Surf Blue

Hope this helps some of you decide! Personally, Surf looks to bee an in-between of Blue and Royal Blue. Excited for Midnight Turquoise to hit my local store once they open.

you know i always go for the pink bands but i fear for the inevitable day apple switches to purple instead (like they did with the iPhone). i thought for sure this season would see a proper purple band. im surprised to be honest

Purples tend to be released in the fall I thought? We've only really gotten two purple bands, Ultra Violet and Lavender, which were both fall releases. I'm sure we'll see another deep purple this fall, or at least, a purple tinted band, like Lavender Gray (which was also a fall release)

surprised they dont release a purple band thats just the purple color from hyper grape. wouldn't be surprised if they did something like that.

Don't think Apple has ever released a Nike color in the normal Sport band style. Would be cool though. Hyper Grape is a Purple band, if you'd like to argue such, that was released Spring 2019, so I guess a Spring purple is entirely possible next year as well. I just wish Apple would go back to the bright colors. Flash, Green, and Blue (Second Gen) are some of my favorites.

Interesting. I remember seeing a post on Reddit showing that the Flash sport band lugs and sport loop ends were the same color as the Nintendo Switch controllers. Quite interesting.

44mm Hyper Crimson/Neptune Green Nike Sport Loop ordered. Will be here Monday. Will probably order the other Nike Sport Loop, as well.
The Nike+ loops from the past few releases are really tempting, but I've never been a fan of the loops. Not sure why.

Hope you enjoy it!

Yeah, though I believe a lot of us are waiting for some saturated options on that front.. here's to hoping we get our wish one day.

Have you ever worn any variant of sport loop? I've read people refer to them as the sweat pants of Apple Watch band options -- and I'd say that's on-point. They're super comfy, light weight, casual. For me, the only downside is simply that I don't wear them around any chemicals / oils / etc for obvious reasons.

Not sure why Black/Lime Blast Nike band exists, looks pretty similar to Black/Volt?
...
Surf Blue looks great, but again I have how many blues already? If I didn't have any I would def get this one cos it's right in a nice pocket of pleasing blue.
Lime Blast has a decidedly green tone, while Volt is firmly on the yellow side. I have a Black/Volt that I never wear now because it was the first Nike band available separately and I really wanted that... form factor. If it was Lime Blast, I'd wear it a lot more, but not sure I want to buy one at this point with all the other choices available.

I'm in the exact same camp as you for Surf Blue - it's lovely, but I have so many blues. It'd be the one perfect lighter blue if you didn't have others, but seems close to Royal Blue (a little brighter?).

I’ve posted a few comparisons. Lovely colors, but decently close to some existing ones. I’m still picking them up regardless. Surf seems to be the perfect blue, even though I already have 6 other blues.

Also the Nike Black/Hyper Grape, which had their strongest purple ever, but only peeking through the holes.

The one that's most tempting to me is the Hermès Noir Gala Leather Single Tour Rallye.

This is a problem.

I made mention of the Hyper Grape in a later reply.

also, yes, that is a problem. If you can justify the price, I say go for it, otherwise wait until the AliExpress manufacturers start copying it.

I guess I’m much like everyone else; nothing leaps out at me. Nike Black/Volt is the least favourite band in my collection (ironically I wear it most as it’s on my sleep tracking watch and I wear it every night). I have one cycling jersey that matches Volt and the only time the Nike band gets out of the bedroom is when I wear that. Black/Lime looks much greener, so better, but I doubt I’d wear it at all.

My wife seemed more enthusiastic than me, I think with grapefruit. If that’s the case we’ll get her that and I’ll likely grab Surf Blue and Midnight Turquoise/Aurora Green for one of us.

Neither of us like the loops (and we both tried a Seashell one that came with our S4 Watches). I didn’t find it comfy; I found it was always too tight or too loose, and to me it felt cheap. With the heavier SS Watches we both have now we have LTE in NZ I think that would only feel worse.

The playing field is level this release - we have no Apple Stores in NZ to see the bands in person, and for now nor do any of you guys across the world. I guess we’re all waiting for the comparison pictures from the early adopters for those we’re unsure on.

I won’t be ordering until at least tomorrow because that’s better for delivery logistics, but that will still be before anyone has a new band in hand for photos I expect.

Nothing new in the Hermes drop for me, at least as long as I resist getting the SBSS Hermes Watch. I’m getting more used to seeing my wife’s AOD Hermes without a painful pang of “want one”, probably enough to wait for the S6. I think she liked the white double tour all over print one, but we’ll let the credit card cool down before that becomes a consideration.

Trying the leather loops for the first time. Ordered peacock and am excited to receive it. Have one sport loop and do not like it at all. Hoping the leather loop is better.

I ordered a leather loop with my S0 on launch day. I didn't really like it for a long time, but I started wearing it a bit recently when I didn't have a matching sport band for my outfit and wanted a change from SS link.

I like them a bit better now, but I do find they tend to tighten up while being worn, and while I don't get enough movement that it feels like a notification as some people say, it does sort of creak and move slightly in wear.

Ultimately having just recently bought a Noir Hermes Rallye single tour I doubt I'll wear my black leather loop any more. I also have a light brown that I have hardly ever worn, but it's an odd colour. Saddle Brown would be much closer to what I wanted when I bought that one, but I bought a Saddle classic buckle that I'd always chose if I want brown leather.

Overall YMMV, but for me they are a bit meh. Waaaay better than the cheap and nasty sport loop, however.

Hopefully I like it. If not, I’ll only own one just like my sport loop. I always see them in photos and I think they look really nice. My biggest concern is my small wrist and hoping it “fits” well.

I do like the Blanc Swift but am doubtful that I would like that with my SB Hermès.

Where did you get you Noir Rallye?

I hope you like it too, and with SBSS you have a smaller range of leather options unless you're OK with mismatched lugs (which I wouldn't be).

I spotted someone selling an S3 Hermes with the Rallye, but minus the watch itself on an auction site here in NZ that is very like eBay. I picked it up for the equivalent of US$275 with all the packaging (even the ribbon and Hermes Watch bag) and I'll sell the sport band as I have one already.

Did you see that they have released a Noir Rallye single tour with black hardware?

I tend to use my SS link or my Apple leather bands only when I don't have a Sport Band to match what I am wearing, and I'm slowly picking up new Sport Bands to fill the gaps.

For that reason the leather loop is already a tier 2 band choice for me, and as I now have a black leather Hermes band for any occasion the black leather loop would have been an option that is why I won't likely wear it much. It isn't so odd to wear that I don't want to, it's just I'll always have something else I like better when I could wear it.

If you use the S/M size or are on one of the lowest holes of the M/L size, I'd suggest you get the Size M loop. I've tried both size loops, and the L size wraps almost over my watch face, while the M size is pretty much perfect.
