does anybody have a band they regret ever buying? i have two i can think of:

6216112_rd.jpg
5867106_rd.jpg
I’ve resisted all those six stripe except the pride versions and have been warming to the checks and will get that exact berry soon for under 20 on eBay.

But regrets I only have a few...

midnight blue fall 2019 (was forced into it not realizing I couldn’t get a sport band with edition and had already ordered camel standalone)...in retrospect should have gotten pomegranate loop, which I got for very cheap recently.

Tahoe blue nylon buckle, blech! Still force myself to wear it!

Also wish I could trade in my 2015 blue leather loop and forest green for peacock. Forest is just so damn dark and similar to that dark blue loop.

no regrets, but some I don't wear or forget I have, they're all sport loops for some reason:

sport loops:

lilac
black
smokey mauve
spearmint
storm grey
midnight blue (2nd gen/2 color)
alaskan blue

& mentioning blues we already have, I decided to look:
blue g1
blue g2
blue horizon
denim
sky blue
nike obsidian/black
royal blue
nike celestial teal/black
azure
nike blue orbit/gamma blue
nike royal pulse/black
cape cod loop
midnight blue loop
tahoe blue loop
nike midnight fog loop
cerulean loop
alaskan blue loop
midnight blue (2nd gen) loop
bright blue leather loop

nike teal tint/tropical twist (I agree, green) :)

I feel like Apple releases a new blue every refresh. Can someone fact check this? There's like 2x as many blues as most other colors. Wonder why.

Picking up on blues we already have (this could be fun):

Blue G1
Tahoe Blue nylon buckle
Delft Blue (on its way from eBay purchase)
Denim
Midnight Blue G1
Nike Obsidian/Black
Royal Blue
Nike Celestial Teal/Black
Azure
Alaskan Blue
Nike Royal Pulse/Black
Turquoise
Blue Cobalt
Indigo/Craie/Orange (the indigo is very dark, almost black, but it is blue)

Nike Teal Tint / Tropical Twist (spaced it as I think it's more a weird green personally, but we have green coffee mugs that other people tell me are blue)

Cactus came in ... and it‘ll go back. The S/M part of the band (i.e. the one that I usually use) doesn‘t click in :( Never had that happen before. But even if it worked I‘m not sure I‘d keep it as it‘s a much more blue-ish green than I anticipated. Not bad, but not really my cup of tea, either.

Bottom to top: Spearmint, Cactus, Pine, Khaki.

Thank you for this photo...its exactly what I was looking for... I have the other three bands in the photo and right now I'm pretty sure I can do without Cactus.

So I got a Turquoise band a bit ago finally and when Beryl came out, they were SO CLOSE that didn't get Beryl. I feel like this is similar to that.

I hope it doesn't wear on me and I end up getting it...the Turquoise/Beryl were more similar than Pine/Cactus and its easier to see the difference between Pine/Cactus...but still, I think I'll hold off.

(I'm hoping I get my bands today, I'm so jealous of everyone that got theirs early! mine are supposed to be here today)

Glad to help. :)

Now I hope someone will post good comparison pictures for the other new sport band colours. I think I don‘t need them but am willing to be proven wrong. ;) As good as single pictures of the new bands alone are, comparisons to „known“ colours are the most helpful IMO.

Best guess for the ideal comparisons to similar bands:

Blue (1st gen) — Surf — Royal

Vintage Rose — Grapefruit — Flamingo

The not clicking in is just temporary, actually very desirable when getting a band without its box b/c then you know it’s never even been put into a watch. If it’s a color you want to keep, give it a little pull out away from the watch and it usually clicks and eventually wears in after enough changing.

This and the way upthread the surf blue felt thinner...has to be because these bands have different chemical compositions right? I swear it changes how soon they lose their tacky grip over time too.

As for cactus and even the midnight turquoise, can’t wait to see them next to celestial teal Nike.

That's the second report we've had of a Spring 2020 band coming in less than perfect. A little worrisome, as if possibly a different factory is being used, or different personnel are running the machines, or they don't have all the usual QA (people or procedures) in place. Something to keep an eye on. The main point in favor of genuine Apple bands, vs the knockoffs, is their uniformly stellar quality. If that falls off, that doesn't bode well for collecting this season's offerings. And nobody really needs extra bands, but similar QA problems with, say, MBP's could be a big problem for Apple and their customers. Hmm. I've got a Black/Lime Blast inbound, we'll see how it goes.

I don’t think the issue is really QA. Some bands are tight in the clasp, and others aren’t, and I’m pretty sure it just correlates with how new the bands are. Some of my 2016-2018 bands do the same thing.

Tried that a few times, still doesn‘t click.

Couldn’t hold it. I bit on the Surf Blue sport loop.

judt got the surf blue sport loop, very nice blue and brown color hues. Much better looking and more vibrant than the midnight blue they put out last season. Likely will be a keeper.

also added a comparison to the midnight blue from last season release. Both are a little bit lighter in pictures than they are in real life.

Oof okay that’s rough. I am firmly in the “2019 last Velcro oval doesn’t quite stick right without extra pressure” camp so I believe everyone.
this is a real thing, I actually returned my first band to the store for a replacement before I realized they were all like that in 2019. You have to press them down and they don't stick as firmly. The older bands stuck more readily and have a stronger bond when you go to pull them off.
