The size of your guys’ wallets scare me. I’ve never bought a band new From Apple myself, much less a Hermès tour. Lots of respect for those of you who can do that.

Hey, I’ve bought a good number through local / forum / etc! And I would be more inclined to do more eBay / forum shopping if I lived in the states, too.. alas, living in Canada tends to make those routes more expensive.

That’s awesome! Just jealous is all haha. Most of mine usually come from eBay, Mercari, and r/AppleBandMarket.

The ONLY reason I'm doing this now is that it went away before - and when such things go away it's usually permanent - and I felt pretty annoyed that I hadn't talked myself into it before it went away. I don't have any other Hermès bands. I have a Milanese Loop and a couple of Leather Loops (and too many Sports Bands / Sports Loops).

Exact same story behind my decision as well, and a similar state of collection in my case, too.

Everything I have is sport loops / bands with only these 4 exceptions:

LL: Cape Cod [gifted]
LL: Black (v1) [forum purchase]
ML: SBSS (v1) [gifted]
LB: SBSS

As for the last one (link band), I realize it’s quite an anomaly. The story behind it: the only way to get the SBSS AW S0 at-launch was with that pairing. However, I’m glad I went for it as it is truly an incredible design that is very much worth the cost IMO.

An impressive collection nevermind where you bought them. Got a photo of everything together?

So, the Hermès Noir Swift Leather Single Tour is... back in stock and, uh, orderable. I did not need to know that.

I have a silver stainless steel watch and noticed that the single tour brown band is also in stock. I like the contrast stitching and also contemplating adding one Hermes band to my collection. Does anyone have this band and any thoughts how this would compare to apple’s own brown buckle 4th Gen which I also have (got that one for 20 bucks on mercari)😊👍🏾. Thanks!

I wouldn’t worry about the fauve barenia stock long term, it seems like that one and feu epsom kind of dip in and out of stock. As for the comparison to Apple leather it’s no contest...the drape and the fingertip feel on Hermes leather is on another planet. The Apple bands of all generations kinda have this mush meat quality to their insides too, even the thin modern buckle bands kinda feel unnatural even though the space age design doesn’t leave a lot of plush to begin with.

That’s the most basic bish, widespread Hermes so if you can be patient on the resale sites you can prob find it for 200. Sadly fauve barenia also shows its age more than the other ones, whether it’s attractive patina or beat to ***** dark grease, trawling the seller listings can be a little depressing.

pro tip: you gotta search hermes and hermès on eBay. Not everyone spams both keywords. Here’s a modest discount NIB $310. It is 42mm so the curve on the lugs will jut out slightly if you have S4/5

Thank you for the useful tips and guidance on these bands, Ive never owned one but was always curious. I am getting it through a buddy of mine who has a apple friends and family discount so the brown barenia comes out to 288 + tax for me via apple making it just below $310 Total + the Apple Card 3% cash back.

At that price would you say its worth it? I may sell my brown apple buckle which is in really great condition without any patina. It seems like this Hermes one is not a hard to find band unlike the black one w/ black lugs that seems to be the buzz in the last few posts. The other 2 tone artsy design ones look intriguing but I cant see myself using those for going to fancier occasions so would be wasted. I read a bit about this band material choice and seems that with brown color and patina being usually appreciated in wearable items, they may have gone w/ this more choice. I did end up ordering, but may cancel in case buyer’s remorse hits...apparently with this band I also have 5ish weeks to cancel. I am in no rush, just read the earlier posts and checked stock of this one too. I can look for a cheaper used band also on some of these auction sites In the meantime.

Sure, threw this together just now.

Some notes, for my fellow OEM bandaholics: Forgive the 3 third party bands near the middle -- I simply photoshopped the latest pics of my band cases exactly as I keep them organized. Clockwork Synergy Perlon was actually me encouraging a buddy to get his first "spare" band for his AW (ie. we each got one in the same order). The third party SS bands might get replaced with legit ones one day, but they hardly get used as I've got the SBSS watch body -- so it would likely be a waste. Bottom left censored one is a long story. Everything else is the real deal.

Very nice. I also have a Friends and Family buddy for all my bands but yours is very nice letting you have the 3% as well. Yeah the newest two tones with the nautical print luckily don’t tempt me. I have a lightly used chalk/blue from last year coming that I got for 270 minus 40 in Mercari credit...anything to get it under 300 before tax makes it feel less insane. The way I look at it is...it’s not a $16,000 Birkin bag, right? 😁

You lucky buggers. Surprised that the discount still applies on the Hermès stuff!
Yeah I was too when I got to see the Friends and Family store in the flesh over holidays...granted the discount isn’t enough for Hermes for me to have used it. Like I said I want a full hundred bucks off and am more than happy to go open box/lightly used. Or course Apple isn’t dumb and the 25% accessory discount drops to the usual 16% hardware discount when you go to ol’ “Paree” for your band. Got a feu for 180 on eBay that way.

Plus there’s the horror of exposing my true addiction to my buddy when placing the order!

Excellent collection, and well documented. And you have good taste in leather loops (I have the same 3). Of course, now I'm insanely curious about the censored one. Like, did it do crimes?

Well thanks :) And yeah, Cape Cod is fantastic. Not sure why I don't see more with it! Wish they would do some red LL options. Red sport band v1 or even a deep red wine type red. I'd be all over it. And yes, there's a sizeable bounty out for it!

Good on you for that find, that's awesome! And yeah, I'm way past the ability to hide my addiction. I swap bands out at least once a day, often twice. Oh well, we all have our passions, right! :)

I've got a third party red LL from perhaps 2016, that was a very lucky buy on Amazon - it had all the potential to be horrible, turned out to be perhaps 75% the quality of an Apple Leather Loop, for ... I think it was about $25. Magnets are good, lug lockup is spot on, leather is decent. Unfortunately that kind of luck isn't repeatable. If Apple did a real one, I'd likely buy it (Product Red v1 color would be nice).

Haha it’s funny how that works out, the third party bands as such a gamble. Nice that it worked out for you! Hasn’t aged poorly? (I’ve seen some third party loops fall apart due to thin material around magnets etc.)

44 OEM if I’m counting correctly?

Ive got 48 OEM I think. Not nearly as many rares as you do though. You’ve got a few on my wishlist:

Spicy Orange
Ultra Violet
Cactus
Dragon Fruit
Olive Flak/Black
Celestial Teal/Black

Awesome awesome collection. I just recently started saving my money to spend on only the rare ones. Picked up a Barely Rose / Pink Pearl Nike+ on eBay for $30 today. Got an Olive Flak for $7 too, but it’s 38mm, so I think I’ll have to resell it. ‘Least it has a box I guess.

The rest of you should post updated collections! I love to see which bands others have that I missed out on.

My father has an Apple Watch and I asked him today if he'd bought any extra bands for it. Turns out he has an Ultra Violet SB, Spicy Orange SB, Spicy Orange SL and Cargo Khaki Nike SL - all bought for RRP from Apple when they came out and unaware of their desirability nowadays. I need to start asking him for buying tips, he can obviously predict the future!!

Well, I must return respect:

I admire the patience and skills that you and others have in terms of the hunt. Once Apple launches new bands, I pretty much order the ones I want right away, to avoid missing out. After all, I got burned badly by Gamma. I stalled when it was released, and then missed out as it sold out quick.. so I wound up paying almost double msrp to acquire the one I have :(

Only 7 number of mine are from hunts for deals that actually worked out (ie. below MSRP). 4 are common ones (ie. so nothing to brag about): Volt, Black LL, White SB, Platinum.

The only exceptions (where I got fairly rare ones for a deal below MSRP) include Nectarine loop, Yellow, Celestial Teal.. but 2 of those were quite a drive (locally but far).

Part of the issue is living in Canada, and I don’t like to deal with eBay unless it’s a known entity (chargerstore or someone here), so that limits my options in a big way. Our dollar also isn’t great (compared to USD).

TLDR - at only 15% below-MSRP purchases in my collection at present, I’m quite jelly of you and the other deal hunters here!

Hilarious! And man, he’s got good taste. Those are some of my favorites. As I said earlier in this thread, Spicy Orange Loop is one on my list. Hoping Nike does a total orange this summer (summer 2017 had some colour!)...

Hey guys, I still have one of these Zero Mass Apple Watch band boxes left for anyone that wants it. They retail for $90, but I’m only asking for $20 plus shipping. Shipping is $25 from USPS, so $45 total. Here are some pictures of it below, plus a link to it on Amazon.

Still doesn’t devalue how impressive your collection is. With Gamma, I was lucky enough to find it bundled with a watch on eBay. I messaged the seller asking if they wanted to part out, and they agreed to sell me Gamma & the original box for $30. Pretty heavily used, but nothing a good cleaning couldn’t fix.
