I need help to identify the middle band color. I'm pretty sure I have had it since my series 0 AW. Of course, I didn't pay much attention back then and save my boxes. Someone said they thought it was Mist Blue for some reason I sort of remembering buying a lilac band. But that was so long ago, so who knows :). These photos were just taken in all different lighting. The first band is Azure Blue and the last one is Lavender Gray.

I just realized I need help to identify another color. I am not sure of the color of the band on the left. The one on the right is nectarine. Thank you in advance for all your expert help.

lighting makes all the difference BUT overall I’d say it’s closer to Sky Blue than mist blue. At least to my eyes.

Again, lighting changes things so much. But it looks VERY CLOSE to my flamingo.

Nor to the/my naked eye. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
OK, I figured it out. My bands are stored in a drawer very much like @jwlbel’s photo. I thought I had Stone next to Fog, but now I look it’s actually Spruce Fog, not Stone. They still aren’t super close as Spruce has a definite green tone, but they are closer than Stone and Fog when only looking at the side so the Nike element isn’t visible.

Yeah, the different lighting helps. These are my best guesses.

Interesting time we live in.. there’s a chance that the current season of bands will come and go without having a chance to be on display in physical stores for many regions around the world. Makes one even more thankful to have this community!

Woah, never even thought of that. Summer bands are getting released in about a Month’s time from now, correct? Do we know of what colors may be coming?

As of tomorrow, I think it's safe to say that we'll be on the 30 day countdown. With the exception of 2018, every summer set has always featured at least one that winds up becoming one of my "very frequently worn" bands.

Previous summer band launches: 2016 (Ocean Blue!), 2017 (Gamma!), 2018 (meh), 2019 (Dragon Fruit!)

So many thoughts come to mind.. pride band?, the end of 2-tone?, will Nike do a set like they did in 2017?, and so on.

Quoting myself for @mikedop lol

Got it. Really excited to see what Nike will be doing this year. Hoping for an Orange, and maybe another darker yellow. imagine “Dynamic Yellow / Black“ or “Magma Orange / Habanero Red” Sport Bands. instantly sold out for sure.

Loving your ideas. The richer the better. Hopefully they do SOMETHING. I think 2017 was the only summer they did, but a banger it was — Gamma and Obsidian, namely — right?

Have both of those, wearing Obsidian now. Maybe we’ll get some Great ones this summer as well. I’ve attached the best color samples I could find for Habanero Red, Magma Orange, and Dynamic Yellow. Hopefully someone can make some photoshop mock-ups.

side note, does anyone know how Apple and Nike select colors? Any specific rules or patterns they follow? Would be interesting to know the absolute criteria. You know someone at Apple has the sole purpose to pick colors for accessories. Man, what a job.

If you scour every Nike running shoe colorway, the answers are in there. I guessed semi-correctly betting so heavy on crimson in the spring but lime blast, midnight turquoise, aurora green, neptune green were all lurking around the Pegasus and flyknit running shoes. In fact various permutations of those last three plus crimson were all together in the colorways they made for the Japanese Ekiden marathon.

Right now they have the brand new Pegasus line and a new vaporfly nxt% heavily pushing this drab valerian blue/ghost green/vapor green look.

Now that said I don’t think they have any more bands coming for the summer, I feel like that summer pack was an aberration of the early days and they have plenty of options even with the fall numbers discontinued. So perhaps nothing on the Nike site corresponds to the next set of bands, but it sure is fun to wishcast bands out of various shoes! I imagine the next batch of FlyKnits will give us more clarity.

That’s wild. Thanks for sharing!

I know it’s a pretty hard gamble if Nike will release anything new at all this summer, but they tend to give the people what they want, so all I can do is hope.

edit: Wanted to add, I went to the Nike website to check out some new releases, and found a few shoes for the season with a “Watermelon” color on a sort of Desert Sand color, which would make an awesome band. Desert Sand / Black where the black is replaced with a pinkish red? So cool.

Anybody have a seashell loop preferably on stainless steel example? Thinking on getting it.

Super rough/quick attempt. Did them black bases because it made it much quicker, and I also don't want to get my hopes held too high for another "Gamma" surprise (ie. super vibrant). That being said, Midnight Turquoise/Aurora Green is definitely giving a small sense of hope!

EDIT: Didn't do yellow because I don't want to put anymore encouragement into the universe for yet another near-Volt band, especially right after Lime Blast haha

Those are awesome. And with black pins, I’d definitely empty out my paycheck to Apple haha! Thanks!

Two photos of delft blue today. I love the blue of this band but find it a bit chameleon like. The first photo is taken near a window on an overcast day and the second is taken inside the house with lower levels of daylight. In brighter natural light it has a slight purple undertone. Now the question is, is delft blue different enough from surf blue to justify getting both?

The answer is Yes. Surf is much lighter.

I feel like after already owning 7 blues, the new ones will be so similar that you can’t justify getting them. Surf looks almost exactly like gen 1 blue or royal blue 90% of the time. If you have both, I don’t see a reason to get Surf.
I only have delft and azure (on order) for blues. I am going to take a chance on surf blue for a bright blue.

OP asked for the difference between Delft and Surf. Correct answer: very different indeed.

Surf is right inbetween Blue (gen. 1) and Royal. But for me it is absolutely different enough to be worth getting/keeping all three. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It’s definitely dependent on your preferences and situation. I’m not exactly in the best position financially, so I try not to buy ones that I could do without. Glad you enjoy it, though!
