They do exist, but I’m not sure that they’re really common. They’re just called quick release bands. They have a lever on the inside of the band that pushes down on the spring, allowing the band to slide out.

Huh, you really learn something new every day. Goes to show that I wasn‘t very interested in watches before the Apple Watch. Still, Apple made it way more convenient to change straps, and a lot of different ones at that.

I have family who are into watches, but I myself don’t really know too much about them. I only pay attention to smart watches.

This looks so good. Now I’m thinking if I should have got this one instead the Nike one.

Beryl, Khaki, Lemon Cream, Clementine, Pine Green, and Alaskan Blue are all about to disappear off the website. They’ve been sold out for a while now. Safe to say they’re discontinued.
Khaki was tempting but every time I looked at the picture I couldn't bring myself to pay $50 for it. I'm hoping it hits eBay for less at some point. Lemon Cream I bought and then canceled as from the pictures it looks like a washed out lemonade and I'm not sure I need/want that given that I have lemonade. Clementine I'm not sure is different enough from nectarine for me to justify – though I do love my oranges, would love to see a picture of them together if anyone has both. Pine green and beryl I got open box off of eBay for less than the combined retail cost of one for the two. Pine green I'm still not sold on (really wanted more of a hunter green, I guess), but beryl is just simply delicious.

I will please again fore a picture with the new Sport Pride Band and Ultra Violet. Best in Sunlight.
this will realy help me to hold my unopend Ultra violet Or to give it away

I’m the same way, some colors aren’t worth the $50 for me. I grabbed Pine at $20 on eBay, but that and Lemon Cream are the only ones I have from the aforementioned bands.

Worked with a pal to quickly whip up a little Magma Sport Loop concept...

Very summer-y. I could see this happening.

Would love to see some good summer Nike SB mock-ups. I have a pretty good feeling they’ll participate this year.

You know, looking at this thread, whoever came up with the idea of interchangeable watch bands in the first place is a f*cking marketing genius

This was one reason I changed from Garmin. I was tired of always switching watches as I run every day, and Garmin watches just aren’t versatile enough. The ones with colored straps look like toys and do not dress up. Even a brightly colored Apple Watch Band still looks better than Garmin. And I’ve had no regrets about the running features either.

Semi off-topic...I’m reading this Susan Sontag novel and I think she has us nailed:

Interesting quote, and I can see how it applies to band collecting...

That's not how it works for art, for me anyways.

You're not looking for a "complete set" or "every last canvas" - that doesn't even make any sense. One good representative work of art by one artist is enough.

It's not about quantity or completeness, but about enjoying and admiring something you have a connection with.

-- back on topic, Nike pride is awesome. Waiting for some sunlight.

UPS just dropped off my Pride Edition Nike sport band, but I don't plan to open it anytime soon. I do not like the feel of sport bands, but I do like the look of this one so I wanted to have to while it was at MSRP rather than down the road decide "Yeah, I want one" and having to pay a significant mark-up. And if I do decide down the road I will never wear it, having it factory sealed will protect its resale.

My shadow collection of bands I got in both sizes or a second in the same size because of a Nike sale has gotten out of hand with this thinking, that is to say, I love it.

Yeah the character in this book is a little nuts and it’s the 1700s and he likes climbing an active Vesuvius.

Which white generation is that?

Ok, a few observations wrt the Pride Sport Band now that I have it:

• It‘s very awesome :)
• The „imperfections“ of the stripes give it an almost artisanal look and feel – which is very different to the „cold perfection“ of the other Sport Bands.
• I think Apple did the strap a disservice by making the promo pictures with the 2020 Pride watchface as the combination is a little over the top, design-wise. IMO this band looks much better with a watchface that is as simple as possible.
