What's next? A MacBook Air laying on the screen?

LMAO...this is really funny, the idiot is trying to impress his girl by talking on the iPhone and driving a fancy sports car!!! The PHONE IS UPSIDE DOWN  Duuuhhh!

By the way...there are twelve of us in my office. Two of us have had the iPhone since iDay. His is a 4gig and mine is an 8. Had a contractor join the team and I have convinced him to purchase one as well, so out of 13...3 of us have the fabulous iPhone!

No, this thread is completely over the psychotic imagination limit

4 million iPhones in the U.S. There are well over 300 million people in this country.

For you to have any impression whatsoever of "everyone" having iPhones, there would have to at least be 150 million iPhones to even take you slightly seriously.

iPhones everywhere - should I get one too or wait for iPhone2?

Where have I seen the iPhone? One television, mainly - it's amazing how often the iPhone/Touch commercials run. A few of my friends have either the iPhone or the iPod Touch and I was fortunate enough to try them out at my home on my network to get a feel for how they would work for me. I've also seen "Sent from my iPhone" at the bottom of some emails from my friends. (I should note how amazing it was to see how much better the YouTube videos looked on the wireless network compared to the cell phone network, which to me is an argument for waiting for a 3G phone.)

Thus, I've recently been obsessed about buying an iPhone. But I've been going back and forth, debating the issue. The report I hear on this website and others is there should be an iPhone2 at some point this year. So shouldn't I hold off and wait for it? But then this weekend the obsession peaked and I had to have one. I actually went to the Apple Store and asked for a 16 Gig iPhone. But guess what? It was sold out! It was also sold out at another local store. The Apple staff said to try online. So I called the 800 number and the salesperson on the phone was a little wishy washy about when the shipping date would be, saying he would need to actually place the order before he could tell me when I would get the phone. All this was making me feel like something was up. Maybe Apple didn't want me to buy a phone this weekend, not because it was out of stock but maybe because they are going to be releasing something new soon. You never know. There was talk of Apple slowing down production of the iPhone recently. Here's evidence of that.

So, I told myself before I went to the Apple Store that if they were sold out I would hold off on buying an iPhone until the new one was released. So here I am, without an iPhone and waiting for iPhone2.

Other then AT&T workers. I did not know anyone who had one and I had sene like 3 people in public with one.

I got one about two weeks ago. After my girlfriend played with mine, she had to have it. :D

She also had to get an iphone have messing with my iphone as well. But we both had talked about getting one in the past.

I was so tempted to get one hearing about the Refurbished. But i just can't. I want to wait for V2 even it isn't for another year. Then V1 people will want my V2!!!:p

I've been seeing more and more around Chicago lately, people standing in lines at stores reading. I went to Orlando, FL last week for work and saw 5 people in O'Hare airport using iPhones. I got into the airport to hotel shutte bus at the airport and 2 passengers besides me had them. The shuttle driver also had one plugged into his console mounted PC. Give it a few more years, some revisions and price cuts and the iPhone could be become as ubiquitous as the iPod has become.

Being an original iPod 5 GB owner I feel like the whole thing is starting all over again, slow growth followed by mass adoption.

I don't have an iPhone :(

I'd get one but I simply can't afford it for £900 (thats £269 and £35 a month for 18 months) and then not use it after 18 months.

I'm thinking of getting an iPod Touch, but even so I still have to carry around the touch AND my phone which is just really annoying!

Well, I am wanting to get an iPhone but I already have an iPod Classic 80 gig to hold all of my music. Since I have over 50 gigs of music and vids, I am going to have to carry both around with me: the iPhone AND my iPod Classic. I will probably find it weird having to manage which music is on my iPhone when I am used to syncing everything on my iPod. And on top of all this, I'm also thinking of getting a shuffle to use at the gym - I love how small it is and the new price has me tempted.

I do love Apple (I have a Mac Book Pro as well) but this is getting ridiculous! : )

Fellow June 29, 2007 iPhone owners, remember the feeling of having this new thing that made people gawk? Remember feeling like one of the only ones to own one? I Knew the day would come when 'everybody' had an iPhone. I guess it started with the price drops, the hacks and refurbs. Now I see a LOT of iPhone owners. I was at a video shoot where about 5 of 10 people had iPhones. :D

Have you seen more now? Does it seem like everybody has one to you?

I'm in Sioux City, Iowa and spend a lot of time in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. I've had mine for a few months and I still haven't seen another one out in the wild...Besides mine. I've only gotten a few "Oh is that an iPhone?" questions and comments.

add me soon the the list. I think that if you are seeing more iphone that only leads me to believe that it is a good phone and that you should be proud of having one. I know people that are just like that. They are the first one to buy electronics when they first come out but as soon as they become mainstream they loose all interest.

I say the more the better.

Plus i like to impress people with my personality not my phone

umm, dont we also have to subtract the current monthly cost or dont you have a contract?

lets say its £20, thats £360 for 18 months, reducing your figure to £540 total 18 months.

Now lets add the price i paid for my last phone ( a windows mobile device, sim free), £400, now were down to £140 for the 18 month deal,

so now add in the FREE unlimited data! my old contact was £1/mb, and based on my monthly edge usage its roughly 100mb/month, now thats £100, so were now at £40.

Forty quid aint bad is it?? You cant say its £900 when there are other factors involved, unless, you just simply dont have any contract or mobile whatsoever.

not to be racist or anything. But at my school alot of black and hispanic kids have it but no white kids

That's a racial distinction (observation), not racist because you did not say anything derogatory. However having made the distinction opens the floodgates to comments that could be racist.

I live in NY and every other person has an iPhone. Where I work there are more iPhones popping out than there are on display at the Apple store and I mean that literally. At my school though there aren't many kids who have an iPhone. The majority use sidekicks.

So maybe it is a regional thing. I'm in NYC also.

Maybe purchasing a Mac Book Air with the SSD will restore your feeling of elitism!!!! :p:D

Nah. Buying my Mac Pro, 23" Cinema display and new MBP with the touch pad did that :D

But y'know what? It's my OQO 2 that gets more attention than my iPhone.

its kinda like back in 2002 when you could walk into the apple store and be the only customer in the place....

once in a while saw another person on the street with an iPod.

Now, you cant get ANY service at an apple store because it is swamped with teenagers buying 20 dollar covers for ipods.... and the sales people are more interested in helping them, instead of people that are buying macbooks, pros.... etc. I went in to pick up over 4 grand in stuff, and could not get a salesman to talk to me. Left, went and ordered it online.

I actually dread going to a physical apple store now. Its a zoo everytime.

In Manhattan they are everywhere... and as i look around I notice that the Sidekick is very much alive and well and a lot more people have them then I would have expected as T-mobile has terrible phone service in NY outside of the city.

Any-who ... LOTS of iPhones in NYC and I also am seeing many iPhones with no case ! ... I wish I had the guts to take mine out to be free !

Mine is free and naked. I took his clothes off (case :p) after a few months because the case was more trouble than it was worth. I still take great care of him (iPhone). When I sold my 8GB, the buyer could not believe that I bought it on June 29 because it was flawless. :)

I work at a hotel and come in contact with a lot of people and see families from all over the country, and have been keeping an eye on how many iPhones I see. At first it was rare and every other day os so I noticed one. After the price drop I started seeing a few more but still considered it kind of rare to see one besides my own. For me the point when I started seeing them regularly was after Christmas. Its been steadily increasing since Christmas now I see iPhones more than any other high end phone. Of course the people I come in contact with are all people who are in the cross section that can easily afford one.

Lebowski - That's amazing. I cannot tell you how many times salespeople ignore me or give me this 'whad-d'ya want?' attitude not knowing that I am there to spend thousands. Good for you for going online instead.

In NYC, I have found that going to the 24-hour Apple store on 5th Ave. at super early times or super late times on weekdays is best.

EVERYONE has an iPhone

I was in Washington DC a couple days ago and I noticed almost everyone had an iPhone including myself and my girlfriend. I mean, it had to have been 85% at least people with iPhones (of any generation)

I guess the "exclusivity" of the iPhone is slowly diminishing--it basically shows how much people love the iPhone. It's the new Motorola RAZR--in a GOOD way :)

I used to be a cell phone whore myself a bit ago. I hated having the same cell phone as everyone else. I'd buy GSM phones from Europe that had amazing specs. For example, I have a Sony Ericsson K850i Cybershot with a 5MP camera and Xenon flash. I like it but man the UI is slow as HELL and buggy.

I actually had the first gen iPhone at launch which I later got bored of (it was before the App store hit) so I sold it and tried out at least 8 different cell phones. I was neve really that happy with them, they had great specs but it wasn't as fun to use. I got the iPhone 3G at launch as well and I haven't owned another cell phone except my upgraded 3GS since then.

it feels good to finally break that cell phone addiction with the iPhone :) cell phones ain't cheap unfortunately :(

How many people do you guys see in your area with cell phones? How happy have you been with your iPhones? :)

Half my homeroom in school has an iPhone 3G...no lie. It seams lately that anyone with AT&T has an iPhone and verizon users have one of the Env varients...Though lots are getting the droid lately and seam to think it's the next iPhone.
