Better hope the store see the funny side of it too - you may find that they refuse to honour your warranty & other such niceties now that you've made off with something you haven't paid for.

Who said I never paid for the full price?
The story said that I paid for the iMac after the employee brought it, when you get the receipt e-mailed to you they have to scan the box. We paid for the 24" iMac but we thought that we got the 20" one, we didn't care to look at the price at the end since we got a whole bunch of software with it at the time and we thought the higher price was because of that.

The wall mount definitely gave you more desk real estate. I was thinking of doing this as well but I am not sure if it will be uncomfortable when working on the computer.

Thoughts?

Yea that was the main reason I did it, because I study Art I have a big A2 sketchbook and I need as much space on my desk as possible, adn as you can imagine the iMac and TV on a desk with an A2 sketchbook, wasnt really happening, so mounted. I'm fine so far working on the mac, much easier i think now its off the desk more nice space :)

@bc008 - haha yea im afraid off that too but hopefully it won't lol :p I used move my stuff around a lot but I stopped recently just because its hard to move my double bed around lol.

Cool this is my setup... Just got the new iMac for Christmas. I had been dying for one, and since i bought my laptop myself i got my parents convinced to finally get me a new computer. (My laptop is a dell inspiron 8100 with a p3 with 256 ram-- running Fly-A-Kite OSX)
The Beautiful iMac is a 2.4 ghz (idk why not just 2.0, but i wont question) Running leopard...

Here is a vid i made with them, about a week after i got the mac http://youtube.com/watch?v=ZajndM5RlKE

And all you who say that i may be spoiled, i got the laptop for 40 dollars, in unworking condition, and fixed it myself... As for the iMac, i paid 500 and my parents took care of the rest... I started a lawn care in the summer from 6th-7th grade, and now i make 30 dollars a week...

Dude, you have awesome parents! Anyway, I kinda like the Dell. I have my 8000 with funky blue palmrests chugging along on a shelf running BOINC. Brings back memories of when it was my main 'puter between deals.

However, I think I'll have to find an old photo of my first Mac and my first computer, a 1.33GHz iBook G4 that still sees use when I don't have any computers that I brought over from Dad's house.

I am 14, BTW.

I love Fly-A-Kite. Used it for my Thinkpad a few years back. Awesome emulation.

also, there's a way to get rid of recycle bin. it's in the display properties under customize on the desktop tab. Uncheck the recycle bin and voila: the flawless desktop.

In all fairness, I started working Saturdays when I was 15, and I'm 16 now.

I have about £2900 (approx $6000) worth of Macs, Bass Guitars, graphic tablets, Digital SLRs, etc. All paid for by myself:D

All you gotta do is save;)

Same, I've been working since I was 13, and so far I've bought ~£3k of computers and tonnes of other stuff, because I save it up.

Currently saving up for a pair of bass bins and the money to get my Yamaha desk serviced...

Yep I have to agree. Even when working in a sh**ty supermarket for £6/hrs and if you work just one day a week, for a year you will have more then £2000 for which you can already buy some stuff.

I agree! As sad as it seems, I'm older than all of you and am just starting to work my first summer. Minimum wage and all, saving up to buy my own Mac stuff is going to feel great! It is really nice to see you guys saving up from when you are young!

I'm 14 and starting to work this summer! :) I'm gonna pay off my iMac too. My dad was great that he bought it before I had the money!

Haha, sounds like you have an ace dad!

And yeah, despite all the awesome stuff I have, I now have to curb my spending on all things mac to pay to learn to drive (17 in 2 weeks, oh yeah!).

That is, of course, after WWDC, I've got about £700 saved to buy whatever goodies they release :D
