Is that the 20" or 24"? I've been thinking about getting a 20" for my next Mac...Either way, it looks good. :) Is that a pink PSP on the lower left corner of the desk? Never seen one of that color (if that even is a PSP.)

Here's my little...setup I guess. Messy as anything, but I love it. :) (Screen Spanning Doctor FTW! :D)

Click for full size - Uploaded with plasq's Skitch
12" iBook G4 1.33 GHz
21" CRT monitor
uh...13" Sharp Linytron TV.:p
Little blue thing on top of the TV is my 2G 4GB iPod mini.

Once again, sorry for the poor quality, I use a camera phone to take pictures of my setup and I probably always will, because it's much easier then digging out my camcorder.

EDIT: Oh right, the obligatory "I am this age" thing. :p 15 here.

24" seems a little too big, but hey, glad you like it. :p

That's awesome, I didn't even know PSP's came in that color. :)

I know I'm too old (19 :() to post in here, but just commenting :).
I just feel like a lot of people on this forum really bash the 20" screen and feel like its necessary for a 4GB Ram upgrade, etc.
I guess most people on here are fanboys/keeners/techy/etc, but personally I am an average user, love forums, tech, etc, but I went out and got a 20" iMac and to be honest I love it. I don't even think twice about a 24". Personally for me, a smaller girl, sitting infront of a MONSTEROUS 24" iMac, it just isn't appealing. Even my friends love it and think I'm crazy for dragging them to the Apple store like 5x after I got my 20" to compare the 24" screen. My friend even called the 24" too sharp for her eyes (lol I didn't know there was such thing as too sharp)

If you are thinking of a 20" iMac go for it! You won't be disappointed! Both are excellent computers and I do understand some people like the 24" better or need the extra real estate.

Just my 2 cents and I promise I'm not tryna say anything bad against the 24" or anyone else on the forums!

PS. everyone here has some SWEET set ups for your age group. A couple years ago I was sharing a crappy dell that was 5 years old with 3 other people and moved up to laptops and now have a laptop and a desktop. Soon getting a MacBook/Air. Don't take anything for granted and if you work for your goodies, more to you!

Do you guys buy all these accessories from websites like Newegg or ebay? I am 17 and this is my first time working and I saved up about $1500 or so ($10 hr). And I am moving to dorms next month for college.

Someone recommend me good speakers and a mouse? Going to use it with my Macbook.

My current setup:

It is rather messy at the moment.. I'm in transition about to move things around and such. Just got done replacing the MBP's LCD. I'm planning to sell it and get a new Montevina one when they come out. Hopefully by then I can find the time to organize and redo my desk area! :p The PC is used for gaming and LAN parties and as a backup when my laptop goes out (thankfully that has only happened once!).

I agree 100%. I make my way through with a 1.33 GHz iBook G4, running Tiger with 512 MB of RAM. Some people say they wonder how I make it through the day with such a "weak" machine. I don't need a whole lot of power, I surf the web, listen to music and chat with friends. A little photoshopping every once in a while, and that's about it. If there's some heavy stuff I have to do, well, that's why I have my 2.4 GHz PC just in case I need to do some video editing or something.

I looked at a 20" and a 24" iMac a few weeks ago, side by side. The 24" just seems way too out of proportion and huge, and the 20" looks much better. (To be honest, I wish they still had a 17" model, that would be perfect.) It's what I hope I'm going to get when I head of to collage in a few years. :)

It's been a long, long while since I started following this thread, but I never decided to post my setup.

Well, here it is. (Sorry for the so-so quality, my cam is quite old)

My setup includes :
- 5 years old Altec Lansing Speakers

I have those same speakers in my closet. There so great for pumping up the bass.

Maybe because the MBA is way too expensive to be considered for a main computer due to it's limitations? Not a whole lot of people under 18 have a spare $1700 laying around to spend on a secondary computer.

dude.. limitations?! The Macbook air has way more power and such than your machines that you use & say are "perfectly fine for what you want to do"

anyways its between a Pro and an Air for me, cant decide if I need final cut & photoshop on the go, or if I should just leave them to my iMac at the desk. Air would be great... I just don;t want to close of opportunity.

either way im 14. Thinking of getting it within the next few months.

I'm sorry, but you're being way to defensive. I'm not going to say anything else, though...
