You copied my setup! Not really but I have a Mac Mini and Samsung LCD too. What model is the Samsung? Mine is the SyncMaster 204BW.:apple:

Not sure about the model #, but its a 19" with a max resolution of 1440 X 900. Was opting for an ACD because of the oh so sweet design, but $600 for a 20" monitor is too much for a 15 year old whose only income is his lunch money.

well I leave at each house half the time so I wouldn't feel like I'm using it enough, oh well.

I'm split half and half between houses as well, but before I've got it running Folding@Home 24/7 so I don't feel quite as guilty leaving it behind, and I'll often leave it exporting a movie... all I have to say is that my next purchase will certainly be an intel based portable, as I often miss the advantages of multiple cores and so forth.

I turned 16 a little more than a month ago, my setup is as follows.

I have an ikea dresser which all of my setup revolves around. I have a mac mini (2ghz 160gb sd 2 gb ram) in the top drawer of my dresser, which connects to my 30-inch cinema display, mounted to the wall above my dresser angled towards my bed. the cord from the display runs through the wall and under the baseboards. I have a wireless keyboard an mighty mouse which are usually on my bedside table or on my couch. The display doubles as a tv.

Then i have a black book with 4gb ram, everything else standard. i use the macbook for my music editing.

also...
4gb silver mini
20gb u2 edition
80gb video
8gb black 3g nano
4gb iphone 1g customized with colorware, day one btw
16gb iphone 1g
16gb iphone 3g white

All $4600 of the mac gear was bought at the end of last summer. I got a job at the country club here as a junior tennis instructor, and i made $20 a half hour doing private lessons. I have connections. All the iPods/iPhones have been bought with allowance and other odd jobs.

I'll get pictures up soon, my parents might be suspicious as to why im taking pictures in my room at 1 in the morning.

you can connect a 30" ACD to a mini, BUT the ACD is not able to show the highest resolution.. i think you get only 1900x1200

Weird:
From the Technical specs of he Mac Mini on Apple's page.
DVI video output to support digital resolutions up to 1920 by 1200 pixels; supports 20-inch Apple Cinema Display and 23-inch Apple Cinema HD Display; supports coherent digital displays up to 154MHz; supports noncoherent digital displays up to 135MHz

I don't see the point in having a Display way bigger than what your system handles. The graphics essentially look a lot worse than a smaller screen that fits your systems maximum resolution.

It makes sense if you use the Mac Mini as a multimedia mac. I have my Mac Mini hooked up to a 30" Dell display and a tv card connected to my Mac Mini via USB. Since my living room isn't to big, I use my Mac Mini and the display as a tv/dvd player/apple tv replacement.

hm ok i know what you mean.. i also have a macmini in my living room on a TV.. but i paid for my TV (42" fullhd hdmi and so on) just € 900 and the ACD costs € 1800..

dont get me wrong, the ACD is a brilliant display (i had one at work) but i think its wasted money to spend 1800 for watching TV and so on when you can get a "real" TV for less money

My Mac Pro came yesterday, and the 30" ACD. I am loving it so much. The Apple smell is still wafting around strongly.

The mic is actually a pretty cheap one from a company called Red5 Audio, picked it and a bunch of extras up for £85! The stand was £40 from a company called CPC who sell a load of stuff like audio equipment, components etc.

And yes, I am 16. :)

Uhm where did u find that background on ur mac pro i like it alot mind sharing it with me

i am either getting a 17" MBP with 4gb ram 2.6ghz processor and 200gb 7200rpm HDD for $1350 (also includes airport express {n version}, extra power supply and vista ultimate) or a 24" iMac with a 320gb HDD, 1gb ram, and 2.4ghz processor for $1100. If i get the MBP (which I hope i get; the iMac is my fallback) i would probably also get a core solo mini with leopard and ilife with 512mb ram, 60gb HDD for $200. I think the mini + MBP would be the best for me cause i want to be able to use a laptop as a laptop instead of a desktop replacement and then i would have a mini at my desk with a wall mounted 22" LCD that is on a swivel arm so i can swing the arm over to my bed and watch movies or web browse with the resolution lowered and wireless KB and mouse. for basic email, movies and web browsing and i would use the MBP for all the heavy lifting and if i want to i can use my 22" lcd with it even though the resolutions are the same. what do you guys think of the MBP+mini combo?
