You can purchase either the mid- or high-end MBP with the 2.6 GHz option for an extra $250.

lol

I got mine (17", 2.5 ghz, 2gbs ram, 250 gb 5400rpm hdd) for 2430 shipped from an ebay member best fn buy ever lol

Yea but ebay isnt a place where people scam much as where craigslist, kijiji, and used*.com is where it mostly happens and how can u belive a uk person is not taking your money and why would a uk person go to the us to buy a mbp it just seems so fishy.

I turned 16 a little more than a month ago, my setup is as follows.

I have an ikea dresser which all of my setup revolves around. I have a mac mini (2ghz 160gb sd 2 gb ram) in the top drawer of my dresser, which connects to my 30-inch cinema display, mounted to the wall above my dresser angled towards my bed. the cord from the display runs through the wall and under the baseboards. I have a wireless keyboard an mighty mouse which are usually on my bedside table or on my couch. The display doubles as a tv.

Then i have a black book with 4gb ram, everything else standard. i use the macbook for my music editing.

also...
4gb silver mini
20gb u2 edition
80gb video
8gb black 3g nano
4gb iphone 1g customized with colorware, day one btw
16gb iphone 1g
16gb iphone 3g white

All $4600 of the mac gear was bought at the end of last summer. I got a job at the country club here as a junior tennis instructor, and i made $20 a half hour doing private lessons. I have connections. All the iPods/iPhones have been bought with allowance and other odd jobs.

I'll get pictures up soon, my parents might be suspicious as to why im taking pictures in my room at 1 in the morning.

hurry up and post pics otherwise no one will believe you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You have got to be kidding me. Normally I try to be nice about these things, but get a clue. This is a textbook scam. I almost thought you were kidding from how obvious this is.

Google "craigslist royal mail" and the first link is someone who is talking about the same scam.

Let me guess, his reply was something like:

The process works like this, I will go at Royal Mail's office and let the package in their possession and start the process, they will notify you about this and send you an email with an invoice with the tracking number and the instruction on how to complete the transaction. You'll have to send them the payment for the item, after your transfer is verified the package will be on his way to your address, You'll have 5 days inspection period from the moment you have the package. If you're satisfied with the purchase you can instruct them to release the funds to me.If not you can return the item and Royal Mail will make a full refund.

Don't have kids
(the last bit is good natured sarcasm, no worries)

Seriously though, its an extremely common scam and you need to make yourself aware of these things before you try to buy stuff on the internet. As far as craigslist goes, if its not a local deal, it is 100% no chance otherwise a scam. That is a fact, not opinion. If it was legit, why wouldn't he sell it on the London craigslist for twice as much?

this is how we are going to ship and pay for it. how can you scam through this system? http://www.royalmail-liverpooldepot.com/transactions/

A google search for Royal Mail Liverpool Depot brought up this:

Hi guys !

Just wanted to share with you a scam experience.

I had found an EOS 5D in mint condition + vertical grip for 1300$ on Craig's List.... Then I received an invoice from the Liverpool Royal Mail post office saying that the package was ready to be shipped and that now I had to make the payment so that it can be shipped. The payment had to be done thanks to Wester Union to the account of a pretented employe of the Post Office. The invoice can be found here. You can actualy try the tracking number, it's working.

Then Jim (the scammer) E-mailed me to tell me that he went to the post office and that every thing was ok, that I just had to make the payment. ...and a link to the traking page : http://www.liverpool-royalmail.com/t...ckpackage.html

... So I decided to call Royal Mail, trying to explain my problem with my lame Frenchy English and the guy on the phone told me that my tracking number was not valid and that they was no other website than http://www.royalmail.com.

Then I made a quick research on google and found that this liverpool website was a fake one hosted in germany created in nomvember of this year. (http://escrow-fraud.com/fraud_data.php?id=5350)

The Royal Mail Liverpool Depot website has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with the Royal Mail. Yet it's still trying to pass itself off as genuine. That alone should tell you it's a scam.
