Kk hxf :)
What job pays well enough? A skilled job apparently... think about it if he focused on one thing for long enough, he could easily have a 'skilled' job by now. Skilled meaning it actually took something ie not a janitor etc.

17 :)

It sucks being 17 and only getting a preowned eMac for my uni studies when there are 13 year olds who have MacBooks and ACDs.

Just MO, but you guys are quite spoiled.

Sometime's its not about the power of the station, but rather how well the equipment helps you get done what you need to (to get paid, in some cases)

I'm heading off to Uni with a PowerBook G4 and an iMac Core Duo. I bought it myself, with money made from buying and reselling computers. I started off flipping $50 iMac G3s for $120, and once I had enough built up I moved on to iBooks, PowerMac G4s, PowerBooks, and so on.

2 years later, I have a wonderful setup that I use to it's fullest. Sure, I probably could have saved up for a Mac Pro, but the cost far outweighs the value, when my modest processor needs are easily accomplished by my $650 dollar iMac Core Duo.

Be happy with what you have, and you will eventually get what you want. Just work hard in school and it will pay off. Plus eMacs are pretty cool, I use to remember them in elementary school playing Dinosaur Tycoon. Good times. :D

It arrived Tuesday.

sorry about that, i was referring to myself..

and does nobody highlight posts anymore to see if their is white writing? ;)

Hehe, I see now, i didn't think that people still did that, lol.

Also, regarding the drugs, i dont want to sound stuck up or posh, but all of the people in the school all come from very privillaged backgrounds, and everyone knows every one in the school, I REALLY do not think that it is possible that someone in my school would take drugs, you are not allowed to smoke in our school (your fined €100 if you do) or chew gum (for keeping furniture clean, a fine of €10)

I had a question in regards to my setup. I have an old iMac and I was wondering if there were any suggestions on what I could do with it. Should I keep it? Is it worth it to keep? I am trying very hard to get a better setup than what I have. I have a Mac mini, a toshiba satellite, and the old iMac. With for my Mini I want to get a Flat screen monitor/tv. I also have a 2nd generation ipod nano, and an ipod touch on 2.0.2. Im also looking to get an ipod dock and a new speaker system for my computer. The toshiba needs a new HD and im contemplating upgrading the memory on my mini.

Any suggestions on where I should go to get any of this stuff would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You,
Andy

That's what I'm planning on doing, I found a G3 iMac for £50, so I can buy that and chuck it up on eBay.

Already posted in the other setup thread, but why not here! Not bad for a 17yr old I must say so myself. I could use a better desk though...and a 2nd monitor...and more hard drive space...and a half decent mac...but other than that all is well!

I use the Mac Pro for web development (first year major) and animation with programs such as Modo, Maya, AutoCAD and 3ds Max.

The monitor is actually an Acer 24", cheapest and best on the market.

The Mighty Mouse does not work on glass I just didn't have my pad setup.

The UPS is like 4 years old from FutureShop and it is silent as ever :p
