It's pretty annoying, but it's possibly more annoying to see people who actually DON'T need or even deserve their setup ;).

And that is a matter of opinion, there are some people who really don't need a computer at all. There are some people who don't really need a cell phone at all. There are some people who don't need a tv at all. There are some people who don't need a 50,000 square foot house. There are some people who don't need the fastest internet speed available. There are some people who don't need a car at all.

I can get into a whole discussion as to why people don't really "need or deserve" a car. But given the situation it all ends up being a difference of opinion. Some opinions are better left to yourself, just be happy you have what you have and don't focus on what you don't have. They shouldn't have to explain themselves just because someone thinks they have one computer too many.

kthankx bothers the heck out of me...a friend uses it sometimes, and I can't stand it

Often because it comes right about an insult...also why would someone ask if its ok, and not wait for a reply...just don't ask if its ok if you don't want a reply!

(this is more of a general complaint)

I have that same desk, how do you like it? Mine is sort of falling apart since it has been taken apart so many times being moved around. The keyboard tray is no longer functional - I just took it off and use my wooden desk for my Mac and the glass desk for paperwork.

That setup is from a long time ago. I changed the layout of my desk to:

Took out the corner piece. Anyway I like the desk, the wireless keyboard wobbles on the tray but I got used to having the keyboard at the lower hight so sometimes I have to adjust it so it stops wobbling.

I want to change the style of my room so i might get a new desk, but it is not a top priority right now.

I'm 19 now but I think I am still somewhat eligible since it is only one year older and still live at home. My room changed a bit since last time to what it is now.

Previous;

New;

The new things in the set up I have now are; a new entertainment stand with a mount, a new tv (in my sig), a Retro-Duo system that plays both NES and SNES games with 99 percent original backwards compatibility - I am playing Super Mario World in one shot, and of course my new chair. I haven't really had time to figure out how I want my desktop area to be, so this is temporary.

its a retro duo or a famiclone system

The system is a Retro-Duo. They sell it at most game shops, I got mine at Play'n'Trade for 59.99. It comes with the A/V + S-Video cables as well as the power cable and two controllers. The controllers look exactly like the Super Nintendo controllers. It is capable of playing 99% of SNES games and 80% of NES games. It has two slots, the front is for SNES and the rear is for NES.

Here is a picture of it in the packaging -

Except mine is silver. The controller ports are standard SNES ports, so you can plug in an original Super Nintendo controller (like the Mario Paint mouse, a Laser Gun, ect).

Here is a pic of the system with a SNES and a NES game;

And here is a picture of a NES game on the tv;

The games look ok on the big screen (37" 1080p LCD set), but if you sit too close it looks pretty bad. The S-Video is ok, some games look better in S than others. Most of the games look best in the regular A/V cable though. Right now all the systems are connected and working pretty well. The Retro-Duo is connected through normal A/V and I can switch to S-Video, the N-64 is connected through A/V (looks pretty good on the big screen - DK64, Banjo Kazooie, Super Mario 64 all look great), the Xbox is connected through the advanced a/v pack through component, and the 360 is connected through HDMI.

Here is a screenshot of the inputs screen -

And the connections -

And the games collection driving it all -

For movies and stuff, I use my 360 with Netflix (controlled with the 360 remote, which also controls the tv as well). I can't really get HD because I don't meet the 8mbps requirement for HD streaming. So if I want to view true 1080p videos, I download them through my Mac and put them on a memory card - you can kinda see the card reader connected through my 360, sitting right under the power button.

In about six months I'm thinking about getting a PS3, buying an additional 750gb HD to put in the PS3, as well as the PS3 media remote. That way I can download videos and put them on a memory card and the PS3 has a reader for them. I can take the HD out and connected it to my computer and put videos directly on that, or I can just watch Blu-Ray movies. Oh yeah, it can also play games but that is what my 360 is for.

xbox much? :p

Actually I don't. I work about 50 hours a week and I spend about an hour a day playing videos games, the rest I spend watching videos. I usually only hang out with my friends maybe average an hour a day. I have just collected these games over a long period of time, most of which are used. But yeah, quite a lot of games lol.

I'm 14 and this is what I got. I find my room/setup to be quite comfortable as it is quite organized and close together. I got most of my things on one desk.

On my other desk I have my old iMac G3 that has served me for a while.
100_0962.JPG
On my desk there is my 2.0 MacBook, Helio Ocean, iPod touch, speakers, home built hard drive and my normal things.

It's quite simple.
