Not saying you're wrong, but you cant easily destroy a HDD without pulling the read/write head inside it, since the data are stored on magnetic surfaces, which will be erased/destroyed/demagnetized or something making the HDD unreadable.

Yes, but I think a magnet that can''t even attract a paperclip that is 2cm away from it is going to hurt your hard drive. Plus, there is a the plastic or aluminum casing of the computer (both not magnetic) and then there is a thick metal casing on the hard drive.

The latch of my iBook and PowerBooks and the magnets in their speakers obviously do not hurt the hard drive since the ibook is like 5 years old and the PowerBook is 1.5 years, I would not be concerned that a little magnet that's 2ft in a subwoofer speaker away (that is covered with wood or plastic) is going to hurt my hdd.

a few people wear polos, or put subwoofers on their desk, or a 15 year old has a nice setup & you ALL flip the f*ck out. if the friggin subwoofer will DESTROY anyones harddrive, WHO's problem is it? if it sounds worse sitting on the desk, who's problem is it? who paid for it? don't you think they have the right to put the subwoofer wear you want? don't you people understand this? NONE of you are changing anyones life if you are telling them to stop wearing polos, put their subwoofers on the floor ('cause you thinkk its gonna friggin explode the harddrive), or telling a 15 year old to get a job (when MOST 15 year olds here do). stop talking about the friggin subwoofers, and get on with the setups

yeah i moved it, and it's a different desk. it's my dads, because he has my eMac in his room, and the powerbook in the livingroom, so he gave me his bigger desk and he has my smaller desk until we both get a new desks. (cause i have 2 computers in my room).

thanks . i think it stands out 'cause the rest looks so messy, and that looks clean. i think it looked better in the last place too but the desk fits in the corner, and so it had to go there. but im getting a new ikea one soon.

Don't you people understand that SUBWOOFERS are MAGNETS?

My older subwoofer (iSub) was sitting even closer to my previous computers (iMac G3 and eMac) for over 6 or 7 years with no problems. Subs are magnetically shielded now.

i have the bluetooth single clikc. i lurver it. i like my single clicking abilities and im not getting the BTMM till i see how people like it.

also, they have ikea copies here but its like 500 for a desk. rip-off. ikea is cheaper. so when i go to new york this summer well get some on the way back. 'cause there aren't any in my whle state

I love my solid wooden desk, my MB looks teh cool on it! I just can't wait for my BT Mighty Mouse. I will have but one wire, the power. Is there anyway to get a wireless MagSafe adapter?

BTW, I wanna remove my mousemat to make it look even more clean. Will the mouse work okay on a smooth wooden surface?

I always thought ILVA was of higher quality!

Oh well. I still like IKEA better because they have so much more selection and they are currently in China, unlike ILVA. Plus since most IKEA stuff is manufactured here, the prices are absolutely ridiculous (that $1500 leather corner sofa you can pick up at the IKEA in Burlington, Ontario? You can get it in Shanghai for about $400).

I wanna remove my mousemat to make it look even more clean. Will the mouse work okay on a smooth wooden surface?

it works but (IMO) it sounds bad. and it collects brown stuff on the ring .... around it. the little plastic ... thing. haha. it will deffinately work but you might have to clean your mouse once every 2 montsh. not too bad.

500mhz iMac G4? With a 15.4" Screen?

If I am not mistaken the iMac G4 was 700mhz, 800mhz, 1ghz, and 1.25ghz and came with a 15" (non wide screen), 17" (WS), and 20" (WS)monitor.

iMac G3's came in 500mhz with a 13.8" CRT.

what about using the iSub on the new intel macs running 10.4?? does anyone know anything about it?? from what it see it only works fine with G5 macs running 10.4, not the intel ones...
