Killyp - loving the setup. I'm also loving all the blue I see (it's my favorite color)!

ghall - works for me! I love looking at simple shots of the computer itself. :)

let me know if you want it
:)
I wouldn't say its great. We have two of those at the studio because they were kind of cheap and we only used it once because they're slow as hell when working with RAW files and PSDs. I'm sure they're fine for personal use though.

my first mac setup

We got this (family computer) after the pc crashed twice in as many years. I just turned 18 BTW.
anyway, my setup
iMac G5 1.8, pre-isight (just barely), 1 gig Ram, 160gig HDD
eyeTV 200
plextor external DVDRW DL burner
LaCie Triple interface 250gig HDD (I really wish I had FW800)
Wacom 6X8 intuos2 tablet
crappy $100 HP all-in-one printer
4th gen 20gig iPod
Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-S90 digital camera
cheapie ~$50 creative 2.1 speakers
Shure e4c earphones (for real listening)
Microsoft wireless Keyboard and Mouse
Crappy Sharp VHS player
Sony UX50 PDA (not pictured)

Ok now that thats over with. I was converted by the ipod I got as a present and when I became the admin for the small Mac section of the school's computer lab. I am not some big time video editor like hotwire, but I am the resident director/composer/editor for the Football Team's highlight tape (I'm one of the players and the reason for having Final Cut Studio (last year I did it in iMovie and I wanted my Senior one to be really good) and the external HDD). I also compete in a yearly competition featuring vector art, hence the tablet. I am fluent in Freehand, Corel Painter, and less so in Photoshop.
thats all folks

Hey, that's my web site (looks like the demo reel page) on your screen!

For some reason, that just made my day. :D ;)

BTW - Out of curiosity, what'd you think of the reel?

How do you like that Axiom keyboard?
the axiom is one of the top of the line keyboards by m-audio. the keys are semi weighted to feel alot like a piano and less keyboardish. its fully programmable. it has a drumpad, i think its great.

They're Creative speakers. I have some similar, just with different satellites. Great for computer speakers and they do actually work very well with some kinds of music...

yeah there creative speakers, i got them in circuit city, so maybe you can go to your local one anc pic them up, oh btw they come in white to and like everyother color imagineable but these were all they had left

Dual 2.66 Core Duo Mac Pro
Two ViewSonic 19" displays
JBL Creature II speakers
4th gen. iPod
And one genuine Apple mousepad

The other stuff:
Canopus ADVC110 (for capturing Halo)
Samsung 20" TV
Xbox
And that little green thing under my keyboard, my Halo 2 case.

My Setup

Hello, everyone. I'm 18, and a first time poster. Even though my setup may not be as impressive as the rest, mine does the job even though it's messy. All was bought with my own money. And sorry about the awful pictures... Enjoy.

Above you can see my MacBook Pro, and Xbox. The display can be used by either. Behind the MacBook Pro is a 160GB HD dedicated exclusively to videos. Also, I'm proud of the customized mousepad I had made. Nothing spectacular, though.

This is the other half of my desk where you'll see how my Xbox games are held together by some Goosebumps bookends I've had since I was a kid, and the rest of my stuff.

And that's it.
