he basically meant that because you have so many wireless things e.g. the mouse, internet, keyboard that the ipod was wireless and that if you didn't want to have that speaker cord showing you could get an airport express and make all of your music wireless. boom.

Oh, Ok. For some reason I thought his post seemed a bit insulting, like he was making fun of me or something!

Either way, a bluetooth iPod would be really, really cool.

It's called a Zune™ (although that uses WiFi), but the Zune™ isn't quite as good as the iPod at actually playing the music. Kind of destroys the idea of battery life though...

Yeah, I heard it didn't sound overly great. I just meant bluetooth for syncing with itunes would be cool. It would be a waste of battery life though.

Never had a virus on any of my computers, but thanks for the good luck! :D Anyway, here is a picture of the new setup. Sorry for quality, I need a new digital camera! :)

Nice specs for the comp. Where did you place the subwoofer for the speakers? I was thinking about getting them for my comp, but would have no clue where to place it.

I'm not sure if you were talking to me, but if you were they on the top of the hutch. They actually don't sound too bad up there, but it probably would sound better if they were on the floor.

To be fair, we don't exactly know why he switched. And to be even fairer, he might not be able to afford a Mac. ;)

Well actually, this is correct. I originally wanted to get a MacBook, but the Christmas budget wouldn't allow for one. So I came across this Dell for $587 about a month ago and my mom ordered it right on the spot. Having opened it today, it's been an excellent computer! I plan on upgrading the graphics card soon. :)

My new and improved setup. I got the 19" Gateway LCD widescreen from my mom. I think she did pretty good! :)

She also got me that cool Link fathead.

Anyways, a few other angles:

Jeez, I *REALLY* need to bring my Macbook to the Apple store and get that staining fixed. I just can't live without my computer for a week...

Nice display!

What???????

You'd give up an eMac for a dell???????? I'm no apple fan boy, I'm typing this in a windows laptop. But eMacs are one of the coolest machines apple has ever produced IMHO. I'd never use a pc as my main machine exclusively, keep that eMac on the desk at least. Or go on your local craigslist and trade them both for a blackbook.

I never thought I would go back to a PC, but I couldn't afford a new Mac for Christmas (had a budget of $600; Dell was $587). I do plan on getting a new MacBook when I go to college in 1 1/2 years. Also, the eMac is an excellent machine but its slow, and I was ready for an upgrade. I'm giving it to my brother so at least when I want to use it, i will be able to. However, my new Dell is awesome.

You won't be saying the same thing in a year's time, when your brother's eMac will still be running at the same speed it's been running since you first got it :p

Umm, I'm not really getting the joke..?

Care to elaborate??

He has very few wires visible, and an iPod just sitting there, so I was joking that the iPod must be wireless, too! (Then go serious and mention a possible way to remove the one visible wire, the speaker wire.)

Haha, yeah your right. But I usually back-up and re-install Windows anyway. Plus, I've done the same thing with my eMac many times. So yeah, i'm good. :D

WARNING: DO NOT LOOK AT MY SETUP IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR EYES AT ALL.

My extremely messy setup.

Mac Mini 1.83

I undrstand if you can't afford a pretty mouse, keyboard or monitor, bet hey, it's free to clean your desk.;)
