Well, I use mine daily, and especially, for note taking. Also, I use it for navigation, too.
As I recall you have both the Fold Edition and S-Pen Pro... how do you alternate using them? And have you ever had to replace the nibs?

Yes, I have both. Unfortunately, I just lost the nib on the Pro and can't seem to replace it? In fact, it may have broken off. I may not be able to replace it? Lately, I been so busy that I haven't looked into it.

And a crazy turn of events, I'm leaning heavily towards keeping my Fold 4... I thought we would see a more drastic look in the Fold 6. And judging by these early leaks... the only change I see with the new Fold it has sharp corners. And I completely understand what Samsung is doing here... not trying to radically widen the cover display because some segment of users prefer it narrow this way.

But at least give us something exciting. Heck, there's hardly any improvements to the camera on the Fold 6, I believe it's going to be same (Flip 6 will see an upgraded camera) ... I'm not sure what Samsung is thinking here. But as a Fold user, if we see minor improvements annually... not sure how that will lead to us upgrading.

And I'm paying for Samsung Care+ (increased in cost) on my Fold, so if there's any issues with it... I can get it resolved. And OneUI 6.1 was a really nice update for it.
I'm in the same boat.

When the rumors were that we would see a drastic redesign I started earmarking some money towards a upgrade this year. However it seems like another minor hardware change. I have many expensive hobbies competing for my disposable income, so will probably put the cash towards camera gear or travel expense instead.

Samsung will allow me to keep care + through next year, so I will probably just stick with my Fold 4.

Pretty crazy since there were years where I changed phones 3 times, but with the Fold I may end up going 3 years without an upgrade.

A major bump in either camera quality, or screen size would have had me upgrading, but rumors are that Samsung couldn't muster either this year so I can wait.

And it's disappointing! Because I was really looking forward to upgrading... But Samsung just didn't do enough and I'm in disbelief given that OnePlus and Google have entered the market.

If it wasn't for S-Pen support and Good Lock, I'd jump ship to another foldable. But I'd perhaps change my mind if Samsung offers me a ridiculous trade in amount, that would be the only reason I upgrade.

You should be able to find some replacement nibs on Amazon.

And it has arrived... looks brand new. Charging at the moment... feels good to have my S-Pen back.

The Fold cameras with that frame look horrendous to me, wanting to look like bigger cameras than they really are.

LOL

Whom are you trying to kid here my man?!

Good Lock, S-Pen are the ONLY reasons you're sticking? Right!

Proper and timely software updates, security fixes - no MAJOR screw-ups we've seen across the Android space.
The breadth of Software that just properly WORKS on the Fold series cause developers develop for THIS model first and foremost (unless their private developers that work for said manufacturer competition).

At the end of the day ... its NOT just the hardware nor just a few bits of software you're using the product for. Sure its what gets you to BUY it!

But its the full synergistics of the entire experience.
I mean this whole space here has more - might I say engaging and intelligent - conversations about Samsung products & services more than any other. There is a HUGE reason for that and most of it is positive.

I'll wager you're so used to the Samsung experience that going elsewhere may give you a grin for 3 months or less that you'll be more annoyed to come back to Samsung.

Well they definitely are different. I have a feeling those grooves may be to keep lint away from the camera lens' themselves.
ung is attempting to make us believe they made improvements to the cameras.
Well let's see ... they SURE DID with the S24 Ultra and the S24 and the Z Fold 5 than all their previous models EVEN though 5/6 (Ultra) camera's were the EXACT SAME SPEC (unless I'm mistaken) yet the quality of the pictures and video overall has improved noticeably day to day.

Its not just the size of the tool you carry but how you use it (clean it, take care of it and use and use it again lmao)!

lol sorry I couldn't resist lol.

In all sincerity the lenses alone could be changed to have a very significant affect of the quality of the pictures more than the senors or the size of sensors themselves.

The circles have a frame to make it look bigger, nothing more. In fact, in the renders made by OnLeaks the lenses of the three cameras looked bigger (not having the fat frame) and I had hopes of new sensors for this Fold 6.

But a month before the presentation everything is already practically leaked and it is clear that there will be no change, again, more of the same.

New squarer and more compact design, with a new screen aspect ratio that is fine, but I think that after 3 iterations continuists, the 6 was going to be a superior change, especially considering the Chinese competition.

Honestly, I'm disappointed that everything is more of the same, especially on the subject of cameras, an aspect that I value quite a lot and more in a device of more than 1500 euros.

The fact that they try to make the lenses bigger seems to me an act of trying to deceive the customer, making those lenses look big, but in reality, the only thing you are going to get is a frame on the lens that, in my personal opinion, makes it look more outdated than the current model.

I'm only referring to my experiences... fully aware there are more to it when it comes to owning a Galaxy device. But the features I mentioned are what keeps me attached to the Galaxy Fold.

Tbh, I could switch to any flagship device and be fairly okay with it. Whether that's an iPhone or Pixel device... I don't fall into that trap where "I can't use x because of y." My preferences are to the Galaxy Fold and obviously I don't wish to use a non-foldable phone, but I won't be annoyed if I had to switch lol.

But I think that has more to do with the chip and the algorithm that was used to improve the quality of the pictures and video even though they had the EXACT SAME SPEC.

What we are asking for is (or maybe just me)... don't shortchange us. Yeah, they made some design changes to the hardware... so, it's not as if they didn't do anything to the Fold 6. But the cost Samsung is charging for the Fold 6 should have been more than a slight design change.

With the S23U vs S24U... yeah, Samsung didn't really change much. But there's really not much room for improvement with candy-bar phones. However, with foldables.... there's plenty of room to improve especially when they have competition in the US.

Come on guys. Is it really that bad?
Don't discourage me before the Fold is even launched.

You are coming into it as a new user… so, no need to worry. Samsung is planning to release a less visible crease and that’s something you been waiting for.

So, you should give it a try… don’t let us discourage you from buying.

Should I distracted by the rumoured slim version?

What do you mean by distracted? I don’t believe that Samsung will make two versions of the Galaxy Fold… rumors say a cheaper version or an ultra one, I think neither exist.

Samsung already has two version of a foldable in their lineup… the affordable one is the Z Flip and if one wants a more expensive model, then go with the Z Fold.

I sincerely hope Samsung does make an Ultra-like or Pro-like top tier Z Fold. Maybe even early 2025 they'll surprise is with a huge performance boost with SnapDragon 8 Gen 4 to compete with the upcoming Oppo Find N4 / OnePlus Open 2.
