I believe I’ve said this before. I think the ideal SE for me would be the iPhone X form factor complete with the telephoto lens and an LCD screen. Quite unlikely though

Me too! Absolutely! …What will that be like: to get all excited for a phone that we’ll actually be able to keep?!Wish they would do a revision of this phone with a new modem, a newer chip, and just some camera improvements. Instant buy!
Yeah I’ve been debating that, too. Okay I’m not ready to take on that decision yet. I’ll do like Scarlett O’Hara said and “think about it tomorrow”What frustrates me with the next SE rumors is the idea it will still be a single camera thus no night mode. I think that would still keep me on my 11 yet again.
Do you think about trading it in (or selling it) and buying a refurbished 11 from Apple?Part of me says there's no way they would use the XR single camera design over the 11 dual camera. But then I remember this is Apple. SE = 1 camera. Standard line = 2 cameras. Pro = 3 cameras. It just works out so well as a clear upsell path that I worry that's how they will go.
Other than the bad modem connectivity, terrible low light camera performance is one of my gripes about the XR that I actually notice on a regular basis. Missing DeepFusion and night mode by one phone generation has been a bummer. At the time I bought the XR I didn't care because I only expected to have it for a year... haha.
I've considered it but it's not worth the hassle for basically the same phone this late in the product's lifecycle. Plus, the value of the XR is so low these days it's not even worth selling. I would rather keep it as a backup or give it to a family member. So until a new phone is released that works for me or until the XR stops working, I'm sticking with the XR until support runs out. Crappy camera and all, haha.Do you think about trading it in (or selling it) and buying a refurbished 11 from Apple?
I wonder if PWM sensitive people decided to hedge their bets or replace traded in phones because I’ve noticed all of the Apple refurbished 11s are gone. Only 11 pro models are available.Do you think about trading it in (or selling it) and buying a refurbished 11 from Apple?
I never had issues with my SS Series 0 but then I didn't have to stare at it. Also most interface items are not bright so your not being blasted with light. The people who are having PWM problems with iPhones, do they have this problems with the Apple Watch (Ultra) too?
Same. I've been wearing a 42mm Series 3 since it was released and I've never had any issues. I look at the screen so briefly and most of the interface is dark, so there's not enough opportunity for it to bother me.I never had issues with my SS Series 0 but then I didn't have to stare at it. The 11 goes quick when it does show up in stock. I peruse the refurb store often just to see what's out there. I've seen it show up in stock a handful of times and, most recently, I believe it was $430 for the base model. That price tag matching the price of the SE is likely why it goes so quickly when it does appear. And I have to believe Apple is seeing this as well. The refurb 11 is almost like the unofficial SE Plus, haha.I wonder if PWM sensitive people decided to hedge their bets or replace traded in phones because I’ve noticed all of the Apple refurbished 11s are gone. Oh that’s a shame about it not having trade in value anymore. I was shocked at how much it had last year. It was $200 if I remember correctly.I've considered it but it's not worth the hassle for basically the same phone this late in the product's lifecycle. Apple has so far released three generations of its compact, budget iPhone SE model, with the latest coming earlier in the year. The company already has its sights set on the next-gen iPhone SE, and a new leak now reveals some important details about the phone.
For one, the next-gen iPhone SE—or the iPhone SE 4 as it will be referred to henceforth—will debut as Apple's only compact phone after the company eschewed the release of an iPhone 14 Mini. According to prior reports, the iPhone SE 4 will adopt the design of the iPhone XR. This source corroborates that, claiming that the phone will sport a notch like Apple's modern phones. For some reason, though, the budget phone will not be equipped with Face ID.
Instead of Apple's secure 3D face unlock feature, the source, Chinese leaker Assen, purports that the iPhone SE4 will feature a side-mounted fingerprint reader. Apparently, the compact phone will sport an LCD and not an OLED screen. Pricing in China is expected to be between CNY 4,000 (US$560) and CNY 5,000 (US$700). Comparatively, the iPhone SE (2022) starts at CNY 3,499 (US$490).
I really hope that it doesn’t have touch ID built into the power button. I would much rather have face ID.
Me too. Face ID works better for me than Touch ID. Ugh. Giving up a camera from the 11 and now Face ID. Why, oh why, Apple do you make it so hard to love you?I really hope that it doesn’t have touch ID built into the power button. I would much rather have face ID.
Otherwise, looking forward to it
I actually prefer Touch ID. I don’t want my phone scanning/blasting my irises thousands of times throughout the day. I turn attention awareness off as well.I really hope that it doesn’t have touch ID built into the power button. I would much rather have face ID.

I’m sorry it didn’t work out but I’m glad you’re still able to rock the iPhone 11.Big day: I RETURNED THE 14 PRO....
...AND THE 11 FEELS SO GOOD.
Okay, I just needed to scream that. I feel so much better, thank you.
Logisitics: Returning the 14P to Apple was cake. Switching back the sim to the 11 was not. Two sessions of Verizon chat today, one 1 ½ hours, the other 2+hours and abruptly disconnected. Finally had to go to a real store. Long story a little shorter, I have an eSIM on my 11 and things are working.
Nice stuff to report:
1. Feels like I made the right decision, not the best or the funnest, but definitely the right decision. Chose my brain over cool technological upgrades.
2. I have worn down my boyfriend to a point that almost breaks him. I've done it through five years of OLED. If anybody has any advice on how not to drag loved ones through the torture with me, please share.
3. THANK YOU for all of the support. All of the sharing and all of the compassion. I almost held on to the 14 Pro, but after so much internal reflection and listening to my fellow support group members, I'm finding some peace. So...
@jimmy_uk: All of your posts are supportive, but one just really boosted me to try when I needed it.
@Chrispy: Your recent words sounded like the ones in my head.
@MICHAELSD: We sure keep trying to find clever ways to try to make our maybes work.
@AJTC: Your messages really helped. I hope you make it to "America" some day.
@GrumpyMom: So happy that you're enjoying the 14PM--we are all vicariously enjoying your delight (that you absolutely deserve)!
@sorgo: So many of your hearts all over this thread. <3
--Okay I'm gonna stop now that this is getting to be like a yearbook signing at the end of term. Just...thank you to everyone on here!
We all want to try, and I still believe it's good that we do try. It's good that we support each other, we listen, we understand, we let each other find our own individual way. I'm going to keep on this thread a bit longer in this iPhone season because I would like to not persuade or dissuade, but just listen and be here for support.
Long live LCD. 👑

Haha, that's exactly what I was thinking. Unless they plan to make the standard line larger, the XR/11 has never been the compact phone in the lineup, even if you remove the SE and Minis from the mix."For one, the next-gen iPhone SE—or the iPhone SE 4 as it will be referred to henceforth—will debut as Apple's only compact phone after the company eschewed the release of an iPhone 14 Mini. Be careful now, My Xr might see this and get upset. I can't have it turning against me now! 😄The 11 even now feels like a significant improvement over the Xr.
Gotta be honest, if I were going on a trip with a significant other that clearly had the phone with the better camera, I would lean into that. Let your boyfriend be the one responsible for taking photos on the trip and you can just enjoy the scenery. 😄 Assuming he's going on the trip, that is.Okay, it might be time to talk me off a ledge.
I'm starting to incessantly recheck 14 Pro Max availability.
Had it for two days because I have loved Maxes in the past, but traded it for Pro because I liked the 6.1 of my 11, and I returned the Pro Saturday night--I've been enjoying my 11, but yesterday my boyfriend took photos that I couldn't, and I miss the 14's bright screen outside, and omg I CAN TELL that the 11 is slower in everything compared to the 14P/PM. And I'm going back to the 'I go on a trip soon, fun to have upgraded phone'--------AHHHHHH!
Love that reframing! ...that's helping...Gotta be honest, if I were going on a trip with a significant other that clearly had the phone with the better camera, I would lean into that.
