11 Pro, bought refurbished from Apple. No modified settings either...11 Pro or Pro Max? For whatever reason the 11 Pro Max (with some modified settings) was the only OLED device I could sort of tolerate. Unclear why.
I'm hoping, not hopeful!

Micro LED panels use PWM too. The moniker "micro" is just a marketing term. The pixels aren't any smaller than OLED pixels.I still don't understand if MicroLED will solve the issue or not, does anyone have a clue?
Looking forward to your comments. I hope this is a good one as it looks like the only switch up from my iPhone 11. It would have a good pairing with the Legion Tab Gen 3.Next week i ll have a moto g75 to test. If not mistaken it’s the most powerful smartphone with an LCD right now.
I have it already for one day. It seems ok, better than OLEDs but still getting some eye dryness. My main issue is android. Android OS is stupid and useless….. it feels like a toy compared to iOS. Most of the apps look like web browser pages…… there is not a single option to open all web pages in a folder at once or even tap at the top of the apps to get back fast at top….. typing is slow, multitasking between apps is slow, haptic feedback is a joke (toyish sensation) and in general you don’t feel connected to the OS. Such an unnatural experience.Looking forward to your comments. I hope this is a good one as it looks like the only switch up from my iPhone 11. It would have a good pairing with the Legion Tab Gen 3.

iOS does have alot of nice little touches I can see will be missed like jumping up to the top of a page. Haptic can be turned off (I'm not a fan). Still have swipe back?I have it already for one day. Swipe back works but it’s not accurate. Finger unlock works super fast but sometimes it needs more careful finger register to unlock. I mean nothing has the accurate finger register like iOS. A few months back i tested an 24 ultra ….. same toyish experience. At least Motorola is more clean android os experience. For example i am still searching for a way to use Google pay with taping twice a hard button…. instead on Google pay you must open the app in order to pay for sth…. such a waste of time.iOS does have alot of nice little touches I can see will be missed like jumping up to the top of a page. I guess you need to turn your focus away from what it isn't for any hope of adjusting.
How is the build quality, screen and speakers? How do you feel about the size?
Did you stick with the 16e?Quick report on the 16e that I'm trying.
Seems as good as my trusty 14, which has been the only OLED phone I have been able to use.
So the 16e is probably going to be a keeper.
Going to use it for the rest of the week until just before my return policy closes.
If I am pixel peeping, the 14 feels just ever so slightly more comfortable and has more contrast.
But I find the 16e to be a joy to use.
I don't really care about speed, but I'm surprised how peppy the 16e feels from the 14.
During this "testing period" I also tried a 16 Plus. Very nice phone.
Screen was significantly better than the two 15 models that family members have, but not good enough to keep.
Yes, I like it. I do wish it had better stabilization on the camera and a sensor like the 16. But it's working for me. I ended up keeping the 14 as well and using that for our work phone, replacing a SE2.Did you stick with the 16e?
My favourite OLED iPhone is 16 plus ? Did you try that ? I am curious if 16 is the same.Yes, I like it. I do wish it had better stabilization on the camera and a sensor like the 16. But it's working for me. I ended up keeping the 14 as well and using that for our work phone, replacing a SE2.
Funny enough, the 16e and the 14 are the only OLED phones that work for me that I've tried and I've tried a lot of the other iPhones.
Next week i ll have a moto g75 to test.
I’m very curious about your result. I want to order the new 3a aswell based on Nicks testing. It looks very promising. The flickering should be the same as an OLED tv. I have a LG G1 tv at home. And I’m not bothered by my tv. Just when I’m gaming and become to focused my eyes do get tired but nothing like compared to using a iPhone or Samsung OLED phones.I’ve got the Nothing Phone (3a) at home. Will be giving it a run shortly. It got good feedback from Nick during his testing.
Also later this week, the new Oppo Reno13 range is due to be released globally. Will consider.
The Oppo Reno12 range, while I never tested it personally for use, I did check it out in the shops, and the Radex showed ~2.5% at full brightness, and the levels kept staying relatively low throughout lower brightness. That’s the best value I’ve seen so far for an OLED. So I might measure the 13 range out of curiosity.
How come? Does it use TD?Unfortunately, the G75 didn’t work out for me. Some eye strain, but also some slight, weirdness/queasiness.
Otherwise, it’s a very good LCD phone that would serve well for a while.
Could it be because it’s more a budget midrange phone? I haven’t used an Android in a long time. So I wouldn’t knowSwipe back works but it’s not accurate. Finger unlock works super fast but sometimes it needs more careful finger register to unlock. I mean nothing has the accurate finger register like iOS. A few months back i tested an 24 ultra ….. same toyish experience. At least Motorola is more clean android os experience. -Build quality better than expected
-LCD colors and clarity better than iPhone 11
-Photos / videos worse than 11…. too saturated.
-Smart features better than iOS.
-Screen size huge like a plus / pro max but at least a lot thinner and noticeable less weight too
-better speakers
-better connectivity
-apps load slower than 11. They also refresh each time i open them and i get very often a flicker motion.
-haptic can be turned off. I just don’t like the keyboard / typing experience on android….. iOS auto correct is better.
I can’t turn my focus away my friend. Android productivity is a myth….. everything is complicated like i left android back then when i was using a galaxy s2. Jumping between apps and sharing stuff between them is not as seamless experience as iOS. More freedom with settings and more settings is not always a good thing. Android is such a headache to work with. Even the notification bar is over blown complexity![]()
I did. It actually came in second place for me. Way more tolerable than the pros or the regular 16.My favourite OLED iPhone is 16 plus ? Did you try that ? I am curious if 16 is the same.
Yeah i am thinking to give it a try one more time.I did. It actually came in second place for me. Way more tolerable than the pros or the regular 16.
But I still had some minor symptoms, and for that amount of $ I was not willing to experiment.
Perhaps in the fall if it is still available at a lower price I may try it again during the extended return window?
Have you tried the 16e? With the double invert, it has been the most tolerable OLED iPhone I've ever tried.Yeah i am thinking to give it a try one more time.
I tried an iPhone 14, 2 weeks ago with no success. Aren’t they similar ?? You found it better than 16 plus ?Have you tried the 16e? With the double invert, it has been the most tolerable OLED iPhone I've ever tried.
I have to agree on that. Reflections with screen protectors are somehow irritating.I will add that the key for me is not using a screen protector.
Even the 14 and 16e will cause me symptoms if I put a protector on.
Glossy is the worst, but even matte is bad.
Have you checked what panel you have on 14 and 16e ? Please report back if possible. I am curious. You found those two screens the same ??Yes, I like it. I do wish it had better stabilization on the camera and a sensor like the 16. But it's working for me. I ended up keeping the 14 as well and using that for our work phone, replacing a SE2.

As an example, flicker from Transistor Leakage Current has always been the biggest challenge for display engineers. A good example of recent devices which suffered from this bad flicker are some of recent Motorola LCD phones.
