I was on the mobile share 15GB plan with 2 lines and was getting a 25% off FAN discount. I called in and confirmed I would get 15% discount if I switched to Unlimited Plus. I will now be paying $25-$30 more per month for unlimited but now I get DirecTV Now for $10 per month (a savings of $25) and also get HBO for free.

Yes, I'm in the same boat as you, though I'd be about breaking even if they give us 15% off. I pay $167 for 4 lines for 30 GB (30GB for price of 15 promo) and get about $22 off for my FAN discount.

With 15% off, it would be just under $170 I think, but then I'd jump on board the free HBO and the $10 per month Directv Now. Win win!

I think ATT would be smart to do this asap, as I'm sure there are several people that will jump on the Directv Now bandwagon if they can get unlimited for the same price they're paying now, AND get free Hbo and a $25 per month discount.

4 months later and NOTHING.

Seriously contemplating switching to T-Mobile. 4 lines. $160. Includes Taxes/fees.

It used to be active-duty military and veterans, only. Have they now added government workers?

i think they always had government. i'm a veteran and had to show them my DD214 at the store and they put the code in there

Thanks for the info. Do you know if having the DD214 can work In addition to an employers fan discount? FYI for those who switched to unlimited plus—my employer fan kicked in at 4mos.

So you are definitely no longer eligible for the Fan discount once you switch to the unlimited plans. Furthermore the 25 gig plan has no overage charges but they may throttle you after 25 gigs. if you read the fine print for the “unlimited” plan they throttle you after 20 gigs. So if you have an unlimited plan you are getting raped, especially if you are eligible for a fan discount. I️ caught them months ago in the act of raping me.

I believe the unlimited plan gets throttled when a Single line on the plan exceeds 22GB, and only that line is throttled. The 25 gig plan throttles ALL lines on the plan if cumulatively they exceed 25 gig.

if you have a single line, then yes, you’re go ether off staying off the unlimited plan. If you have two lines, then the unlimited may be better...YMMV.

I called ATT last night and they told me that the FAN discount would not work on the new unlimited plans that are coming out on Thursday.

can you share what the NEW plans are going to be? What is a FAN discount

This is a really old thread. The “new” plans are already out and are the Unlomited plans.

A FAN discount is one granted to the employees of certain companies. Ask your HR department if your company offers any cellular carrier discounts.

If only they'd JUST open up the unlimited plans to the FAN (Signature) discount. Every time i contact them, the CSR says, "ATT has to renegotiate with every partner" to add the FAN discount to the unlimited plan. I find this a bit hard to believe. What does the company care? You are giving your employees MORE options. So why would it even need to be discussed with every company? Don't get it.
