iPod mini was a tank. Will never forget that one. Felt perfect in your hand, wish they would make another iPod that size.

Nano nano

First gen nano for me, which I still use today despite having an iphone. Intuitive, small, lightweight and does its one function well - play music.

This survey of 'favorite ipod' is quite revealing. It shows how Apple has catered well for very diverse tastes.

Out of my 5 iPods, my 5th Generation Nano is my favorite. It has a decent amount of storage and yet is still very small and portable. It does everything my 5th Gen classic does, but doesn't feel like a brick. I Love it.

A Close second is my 5th gen classic.

Agreed the range of colors that it had also was great.

Too bad the 6th gen of the Nano killed the line alltogether.

By the way this was my favorite Ipod.... And we thought 20gb back then was a lot lol.....

It still is, I barely use more than 5GB on my devices

I like my 5th Gen iPod Nano, but the iPod Nano 3rd gen had the better design overall.

I'm partially in agreement with you, mainly for the ability to watch video in upright position. Had it included a small external speaker like the 5th gen, the experience would have been almost perfect. I'm not a fan of the pastel color schemes for that model, though. (A minor nitpick, I'll admit, but there it is.)

My favorite was the 3rd Gen iPod Nano, the "fatty".

I only had it for a few months but it was a great iPod. The reason I got rid of it so quickly is because the storage on them was way too weak for me. I need at least 16GB to be happy with my player. A close second is the iPod Classic, easy to navigate and can hold all my music.

I currently use my iPod Classic 160GB at work and in the car, while I use my iPod Nano 6th Gen for working out and carrying around in my suit all the time. My iPad gets some music play time as well but not as often as the other two.

Agreed! I just bought a black 3rd gen nano on the cheap, and I'm beyond excited to have my favorite iPod back. I may end up getting a classic for my car, but the nano does everything I need.

My favorite iPod:

The 2G iPod nano was superb for audio (thanks to the Wolfson DAC), and had a really long battery life per charge. One word of warning, though: make sure you have current software version for that model installed, since earlier versions had a tendency to cause the iPod to "freeze."

The iPod nano with the clicky wheel and the tiny screen. That is my favorite by far :D. The clicky wheel thingy is a lot easier in many situations than touch screen in my opinion.

edit: the picture above me is what I'm talking about

After owning around 6 iPods I finally settled on the classic as my favorite.

It's simple and it holds EVERYTHING i own media-wise. I just hope it gets a capacity upgrade soon, I only have 11 gb free

My favourite iPod is ipod touch. Its added storage capacity means that you can store up to 1750 songs on it, get 10 hours of video and pack up to 10,000 photos. It has an centralized apostle that's said to advance complete quality, but if you're looking for really great sound from Apple, go for an iPhone.

The first gen ipod nano was my favorite iPod ever. I don't use it anymore but It was my favorite for sure

I have to weigh in on this one, being that I'm a bit of an iPod fanatic. Choosing a favorite though, is a little like choosing a favorite son or daughter.

The third gen "classic" was the design that made me crave iPods to begin with, so that one holds a special place in my heart. I loved its monochrome display because it was perfectly readable with the backlight off. It feels excellent to grip, with all of its round edges! (Same goes for the 4th gen "classic".)

I recently bought a 5th gen nano (the video camera one) and have to admit that it's fantastic in every way, although maybe not superior in every way. If pressed, I think I'd pick the 5th gen nano as my favorite but don't tell the others!

That said, the "iPod" I use most often nowadays is my iPhone 4, simply because I always have it with me and can download podcasts on the go. It's a little sad because the touch interface is clumsy to use while driving, not to mention highly dangerous.

iPod Video (5G) was my favorite, the classic white look was great and it was before they switched the interface to the split screen. Awesome screen and just pure simplicity. 80GB was awesome in it too.

Yeah looks like I will be the weirdo were, my favorite was the shuffle 3 gen, so small I lost mine:eek: It was a resilient companion :p (while it lasted:D)

I've had a 2gen nano but it was always crashing, so I traded it for the best sounding player I ever had an sony nwz-a826. Nowadays I'm happy with my classic, hopping someday to get another one and turn this one into an flash classic (yeah I went from micro to fat:confused:)

My Mini's the best looking, and the one I choose if I ever am just wanting to show off, but my lil third gen Nano still tugs at my heartstrings, it's dented and scratched but it still looks the part, plays well, has long (enough) battery life and is REALLY comfy and nice to use in the hand (I remember when the gadget press were up in arms about it too ). Thinking about upping to a classic if they refresh it as I recently discovered music goes past 128kbps - ah the mistakes of youth

iPod Video is my favourite.

It was quick in use and I liked being able to read song lyrics on it(main reason I traded my iPod Photo in for it). A close second would be my 2nd-gen Shuffle. It's just so handy and I use it when popping to the shops or cleaning the house. I have two of them(silver and red).

I didn't enjoy going from my 30GB Video to an 80GB Classic but it had better battery life and I needed the space. Choosing songs is slower as it would load the album art and the Coverflow on the main menu meant waiting a few seconds when going to settings while listening to a song. I've had to remove all my album art from my songs as there's no longer an option I can see to not display art on the iPod, which is a shame.

I have a 120GB Classic now because it works with the iPhone headset which I use to control it.

Choosing a favorite though, is a little like choosing a favorite son or daughter.

Haha, that's probably a very good way of looking at it - likewise for me. But if I had to choose it's a toss up between the 2G Nano or (my current) 6G Classic. Unfortunately I sold my Nano last February. It was fantastic and great value for money when I purchased it. It was a great design too and I do wish I still owned this Nano. My girlfriend has one and I like to use it whenever I can.

The Classic is what I like to refer to as the heavyweight. I have the 6G 160GB version and again, it's brilliant. I don't have the biggest music collection (especially after seeing the 'how big is your library' thread) but it's a great feeling know I can store my whole collection onto it and pick and choose from such a variety. Overall it probably just edges it simply because of the amount it holds.

I'm extremely attached to my blue mini which was given to me by my cousin because "The battery's dead" :p. I use it every day and it's much more practical than an iDevice for music.

I would really love a black Classic though, only because of the capacity, but a 64GB CF is half the price of a classic so I can't really justify it.
