...I mean, it's hard to give a definitive answer to that question. Obviously, Firefox Dynasty contains source code changes from mainline Firefox. Whereas mainline Firefox has a large team of developers reviewing code changes, Firefox Dynasty does not. It's possible there is a security vulnerability lurking in Firefox Dynasty which does not exist upstream.

But, using Firefox Dynasty should be more secure than using an outdated version of Firefox, if those are your two options. If you need to be as secure as possible, you should use an up-to-date operating system.

My philosophy is that most people are not targets and do not need to be as secure as possible, and that something as small as using a password manager puts you ahead of 99% of computer users. Other people disagree with me.
Thanks WFH, your take on this was not unexpected. After Mozilla drops support for the current 115esr in High Sierra, most likely in March, my choices then are to use FF Dynasty in High Sierra, but with caution. Or, again with some caution - by needing to rely on the trustworthiness of the OCLP developers - but perhaps with somewhat less reserve, in Firefox - as it's the real Firefox - or Brave, in my Ventura OCLP.

Btw wondering what's your opinion, in general, not necessarily what I reported above, of BrowserAudit?

There are basically just two files you really need to edit, Info.plist and App.icns. The latter is merely your app icon; all of your settings are right inside Info.plist. Change those values, and everything else will automagically update the next time you run the app.
@Wowfunhappy Thank you for you great work. I can’t explain how helping your projects are.
However, it is not clear to me to which values those lines should be edited in those files.
And it’s also not clear enough whether I should edit Info.plist and App.icns in WebAppTemplate.app or Firefox.exe.

You want to edit the data in WebAppTemplate.app. The templates are self-contained app bundles, although they use Firefox Dynasty behind the scenes they are not actually connected to the main Firefox application. You could use a template on a Mac without Firefox installed.

I realized I forgot to mark the template app as retina-capable, which is why the Apple Maps app I made looked pixelated to @iPodNano3. I'm going to fix that soon (possibly tomorrow), alongside some other fixes.

I've been hoping to use Web App Templates as a substitute for WebCatalog on my iMac running 10.15 (using your instructions), but the apps I made crashed immediately. Is 10.15 not supported by Dynasty?

Thank you. I noticed three files have been highlighted when I opened package contents of WebAppTemplate.app.
I figured how to make a web app (just have to fill-out!) but it’s still unclear how do I make several apps. There’s only one section to edit in info.plist. And I don’t get how to ‘attach’ it to Firefox Legacy. So far I only managed to make one web app with WebAppTemplates.app without using Firefox.
I’m definitely missing something.
I don’t get how do I make a web app using Firefox Legacy.
I apologize for being bit behind and I would appreciate some light shed on this.

I spent Sunday working on the Web App Templates again, little polishing tweaks to how in-app URLs are handled. Also, retina displays are now supported. (Writing that sentence in 2025 feels strange.) Latest release on Github as usual.

You make a copy of the app and change info.plist in that copy.

And I don’t get how to ‘attach’ it to Firefox Legacy.
It doesn't "attach", it is its own app.

I'm sorry, I don't know! Easiest way to find out would be to test standard Firefox Dynasty I suppose.

Depending on how much effort you want to put into this, you may be interested in the "Hacking" section of the readme. In theory, I don't see any reason you couldn't use a build of normal Firefox, provided that:
  1. You use a version that supports unsigned extensions. (For example, an "unbranded" or "developer" build.)
  2. You make sure that FirefoxModifier is injected into the Firefox binary.
  3. You placate Gatekeeper and whatever other code signature related annoyances exist on modern macOS.

If anyone is interested, the Zen Browser (Based on Firefox) works very well after copying in Firefox Dynasty's binaries.

Yes, that website is not loading for me in Firefox Dynasty. However, it's also not loading for me in Safari on my fully up to date iPhone, so it looks like a problem with the website!

I think to remember, that 133 or 134 was loading. Because I wanted to check as well.
I have not installed 133 anymore. Nevertheless, in my case 135 loads sides that all other browser won't and I am more than satisfied.
Example discourse.pi-hole.net
But I think that various sites are blocking browsers that they dont like, independent of the ability to load. Or they send a limited simple website.
