Apple's few phones with a problem do not even get close to what happened to Samsung devices.

You can see a difference can't you?

Looks like you are going out of YOUR way to trash Apple. If they have a problem they will take care of it but comparing them to what happened at Samsung, this early, well, no excuse needed!
It remains to be seen how serious this issue is, if it is even an issue at all.

At the moment they are not the same thing. However as I said before what happened to Samsung was unfortunate and could hkave happened to anyone. At least they handled it well overall.

However at the moment this is a non issue for me.

Last I checked, I owned the Note 7 and followed all the threads. Note 7 smoking yes, I never said the 8...

Yes really. Iphone 8 first week had 2 reports. And they are growing. That's inside a case. There are videos of it smoking...

The Way you said that I took it as there are videos of the iPhone 8 smoking as that paragraph never mentions the note, only the iPhone 8.

I can you can't. Apple is up to around 7 devices now in just a few weeks. Samsung also only had around that too.

I'm not trashing apple. But it is obvious that some are ignoring the facts..

Stop with the excuses. When it's Samsung you guys were all over them. Now that Apple is having the issue it's all excuses.

Many articles have said it was the original chargers.

What does your quote have anything to do with my response to that poster? Please, take the time to reread what I wrote for the sake of discussion, because your response doesn't even make sense and is unrelated, nor did I even mention Samsung. I'm simply commenting on iPhone chargers and the authenticity that should be used to avoid issues, being MFI is highly recommended for Phone third party chargers.

For your reading pleasure, here is my quote again:

And so many people don't know that they shouldn't use cheaply made chargers. Third-party charges are certainly acceptable to use, as long as the state MFI or Made for iPhone. Reputable brands like Belkin and Anker. I agree that third-party charges can be problematic, which I'm not saying is the case in this specific situation.

It happened on Oct 9 in China. iPhone 8, a new explosive device after Samsung S7? Time will tell.

Here is the original link for the news (from a Chinese Apple fan website):

BGR reports there are seven battery swelling incidents from Japan, Taiwan, China, Canada, Greece, and Hong Kong ~

Yes i know why it happened, he/she were charging iphone in microwave.

I really truly hope this ends up being a non issue. Can't even begin to tell you how much of a pain in the ass it was to deal with the Note 7 recall last year. Dealing with pissed off customers, who tried to blame the carrier retail rep....as if we had some magic wand to make all the Notes explode. And then you had the smug mofos who broke their phone but were able to still get a new one b/c they just so happened to luck out with the whole recall thing

Now it happens in the US. So what is your explanation?/
These are mass produced devices and Li-ion batteries can swell. When you sell 10's of millions of devices, there are sure to be a few that have issues and will need to be replaced under warranty.

It's only a problem if an unusually high percentage of devices have issues.

And they start getting banned on airlines. :D

Curious, what does Samsung pay you to post this nonsense?

Oh, come on. Do you seriously think a company paid him to post this? Get real.

It's October 24.

Battery tech is the same everywhere, it's bound to have a few odd swelling incidents due to it literally being a volatile material. Happens in pretty much all tech products that are mass produced, you'll have a small percentage of devices that are defective.

We've so far got one case. In the situation of the Note, the phone itself was designed incorrectly - without enough breathing room around the battery - directly leading to the batteries swelling and/or exploding. We saw lots of them going up in flames. In turn, every single device was pulled from the market. This is clearly not that.

This is a huge problem, exploding iPhone everywhere :D
