That's...that's the second 10/10 Nintendo Power has ever given out, isn't it?

Ocarina of Time got a 9.5. So did Twilight Princess. Only RE4 got a 10.

I'm officially stoked; any worries just went out the window.

Wow that is awesome, I don't own a Wii and I've never played a Metroid Prime game but they always score so high... might have to pull that trigger on that Wii now :)

Still, all the possible excitement I could possibly have is currently being taken by Bioshock, Tuesday can't come sooner!

I would get a Wii just for RWii4. It's pure fun! :)

The first Metroid is a great game. It's up there on my most enjoyable list. It's definitely one of the best games I've played in the past 10 years. I liked it way better than Halo single player and about the same as SS2, but it definitely wasn't a SS, neither was SS2!!! :(

Bioshock has me excited also. I've been salivating over it for some time now and I'm quite happy that they didn't wrong me by only releasing it for the 360 and Vista. I was worried for a while, since I'm sticking with XP.

I'll have my copy of Bio and of Metroid sooooon. :)

I really hope Bioshock is not a "console port", after playing Halo 2 for Vista (what a horrible, horrible game, don't buy it) and Rainbow Six Vegas (a fun game but it runs like crap and stinks of console port all over it) I've kinda lost faith on games that come on both platforms (even Oblivion suffered with its crappy console-ish interface, thankfully BTMod fixed it) so hopefully Bioshock will run great on a PC with tons and tons of customizeable options and a nice mouse and keyboard centered interface.

I just wish 2K had released a PC demo along with the 360 one, well its coming out on Monday so the wait for Bioshock is only really one day :p (the demo is enough to appease my urges for one day... I hope)

All that is needed, is Prime, Galaxy in 07 and Brawl in 08.

Downloaded and watched a bunch of trailers off the Gametrailers podcast thing and that Metroid Retrospective last night. It looks friggin fantastic and I doubt it's going to be equalled for a very long time.

I feel exactly the same about the console ports. They've really gimped some great games, because of the game pad's limitations. To be a broken record, this is really why I like the Wii. It's quite similar to a mouse when aiming (when set up properly), but a little bit more natural, since the Wiimote holds kind of like a gun. My arm got tired at first though. :)

I bought Halo for my PC and it ran like utter crap and looked quite poorly compared to other games at the time, like Doom 3. And of course Halo PC was 10 fold easier on the hardest level than when playing it on a Xbox, since I could quickly shoot where I needed. So needless to say, Halo 2 is on my never buy for PC list.

Center aiming is king. :) The Wii has its own thing going, which I've gotten used to for games like RE4 and Zelda, but I still prefer true first person fixed center. This behind the person trend is fun and has its place, but it can get in the way. I just hope it doesn't take over FPS games, kind of like how flight-simulators have been made more an more arcade like over the years, because of games like Rogue Squadron. I prefer being in a virtual cockpit, not being pulled behind like a kite.

I'll be downloading the demo and hoping it works on my current couple-of-year-old-DX9-level neglected main PC. At least I know MP3 will work. :)

As a stunt kite flyer I lolled :D

I'm hoping Prime 3 shows us how FPS games are done on consoles. The best FPS experience I've had outside of HL2/Doom and friends, is Prime Hunters. I hope Retro and NST (or whoever they are) continue to set trends.

I still hold off judgment till I know more. I mean is this review in comparison to other Primes, the genre, other Wii titles...or what? I fully expect it to be solid, but in what way intrigues me. I mean is it 10 because it's the ultimate in the Prime universe? Like a polish of the series that gets everything right...or something that is new and innovative? It seems from what I've read to be the ultimate polish job...

So when Xbox magazine gives Halo3 a 10/10 and Playstation magazine gives MGS 10/10 everyone will be happy

It's the first time that magazine has given a Nintendo game 10/10? They've given out less perfect scores than Famitsu.

I'm going to take this all with a grain of salt until I read up on other reviews but I'm happy they liked the game...its a must own for me.

So lets see here.....killer apps for all systems in august....Bioshock 9.7(so far) MP: C 10.0(so far) warhark 9.7(so far)

A very good month.

Bless

Brawl's in 07. And I want it more than anything, no way I could wait till 08.

No Mario Kart Wii or BWii love?

I dunno, while it's nice to see a 10/10 (especially if it's the 2nd time ever!), I've always had trouble believing magazines that are set up for a particular console. I can't see them bashing a game that is suppose to be a big hit unless the game is horrible.

That being said, this is one game I am definitely planning on getting, it looks awesome! The rating just helps to sweeten the deal, as if it needed any. Too bad they pushed the release date back to Aug 27th, my birthday is Aug 25th :(, that would have been fun to play on the birthday.

So when Xbox magazine gives Halo3 a 10/10 and Playstation magazine gives MGS 10/10 everyone will be happy

The "Oh they have Nintendo in the title so they'll give out perfect scores" argument is silly; Nintendo Power has given out less perfect scores than Famitsu. They gave Mario Party 8 a 6/10 and said for Nintendo to stop making so many sequels.

Nintendo Power is surprisingly harsh. Even Famitsu gives Nintendo better scores (OoT got 10/10).

In fact, since Nintendo Power's only other 10/10 was RE4, a third party game, Nintendo Power has NEVER given a Nintendo game a 10/10 prior to Prime 3. Every Metroid, Zelda, Mario, and Smash Bros game released got less than a 10.

While there is a some truth behind that idea, they haven't given out a 10/10 since RE4...and never before that.

IMO, no game should get 10/10, but if MP3 is equal to RE4 I'll be happy

Well, at least we know it wont be horrible then! :p

But seriously, sugarcoating is one thing, but I don't think anyone(any legitimate game reviewing source that is) is going to rate a game 10/10 if they didn't truly think it was amazing.

Hmm, good point. A 7 -> 8 isn't a huge deal, but I can see what you mean about giving it the max rating. Guess my argument doesn't hold up. All the more reason to be excited about this game :D.

As a side note, every time I see someone admit they were wrong on a discussion board I glance over my shoulder to see if the Four Horsemen are coming.

Are you sure you don't mean the first metroid PRIME? Because the first metroid game is way more than 10 years old - and it's a true classic that I still play through to the ending(s) once every couple of years.

This truly is the first Wii game to come out that I'm getting excited about.
But 2D Metroids are still the best. Maybe Metroid Dread will come out on the DS soon! :D That would be so cool. Even just a Super Metroid remake for the DS would be amazing.
