It's fine to correct them on the legal status, but don't call them a pirate.

unless they like being called a pirate ;)

you haven't lived untill you drove through town with a (fake) skeleton on the passenger seat (wearing an eyepatch) and a pirate flag flying out of the back window
unless of course you are pesky sneaky ninja who can't apreciate it

metroid prime is moving more and more on my buying list but i'm still not sure about it especially since i wasn't that thrilled by the first 2 primes with all that scanning and unusal controls

but the longer videos fro mthe beginning really made me wanting more of it with those fancy spaceship button presses and such stuff

That's the beauty of an emulator - everywhere is a save point!

The same can be said of the VC. As long as you use the "home" button to exit the game without resetting, you can always start back exactly where you left off... no saving necessary... no passwords necessary.

One exception... if you or anyone else (like my toddler) accidentally (or purposefully) hits the power button on the Wiimote and turns the Wii off, you will lose your suspended game and have to start from your last save or enter the password...

I'll probably finish up Super Metroid this weekend (for the umpteenth time) although I'm sure I'll be short on items and long on time. 12 years ago I could get through the game in 2.5 hours with 100% of the items IIRC... feats I will likely never recreate...

I'll probably hold off on MP3 until I get a 10% off coupon from Best Buy, if I do that for MP3 and Smash Bros. I won't have to spend any of my money on my birthday, the coupon should manage to keep 2 games + tax under $100.

Nope, Zero Mission is the way.

Zero Mission was great but only b/c the original Metroid was so awesome........and was only outdone by Super Metroid. I remember, as a kid, drawing all the maps out myself on paper to know where everything was and where I had been while I played. I have enjoyed all Metroids. I even bought a GB Advance just to play Zero Mission and Fusion.

The reason there was no Metroid on the N64 was probably b/c they didn't want to compete with the awesomeness of Ocarina and they didn't want it to end up like Castlevania on the N64 (just guessing though) ;)

I got lucky here with an early release of Crackdown...might go see if I can snag an early Metroid too...if not I'll have to pick it up a few days late as I'll be on a remote island working till the 31st...stinks that I leave on launch day.

I miss the "notes" section in game manuals. I've still got my random map drawings and some little secrets I found in the retro box.

Speaking of Metroid Prime I just picked up a replacement Gamecube and another copy of Prime 1 (my brother lost my old copy.)

This is gotta be my favorite Gamecube game, and probably one of the best games out for the system.

Am I the only one playing this game on veteran mode?

I played up that ice-hole and it took me several tries to beat him.

After playing the game for most of yesterday, because I couldn't stop, my right wrist and fingers on both hands are a little sore today.

Toooooooooooooo many Metroid threads going around right now. Some I can't post in, because other people are further than I posting spoilers.

I thought about playing on Veteran mode, but I didn't want to have to worry about combat my first run through; I wanted to focus on scanning and exploring. Second run will definitely be on veteran.

I started out on Veteran. It's been a piece of cake, only two bosses have managed to kill me (and each of them killed me like four or five times :( ).

That ice-hole caught me off guard. Once I figured out his pattern and how to get items from him, I finally made it through.

I figured I would play veteran since I probably won't be playing the game again for some time. -- I wish I had played RWii4 on hard first. -- It's definitely not hard like PC FPS games are on their max difficulty, but I'm only past the first boss.

I enjoy the little extras they put in this game. The only thing I would add is leaning around corners so I can cheese on distant foes. :)

I...I just beat it...

Wow, can't believe I had that much free time this weekend. Being sick sucks.

I'm about done with this game and I must say it was easy but a blast. I loves me some Metroid and it definitely did the trick on my fix....After I'm done with it I'll visit it again after HS and No more heros.

Bless

Did you also play it on veteran? :)

I hope I get lost soon. I'm still on Byro and unlike the first Metroid where I didn't know where any thing was, I've been finding things easily. But it is way easier to scan with the Wiimote, than it was to press "R" and look around, so maybe that's why?

Things get less linear once you start exploring Elysia.
