Looking at this again I noticed it does not say "High efficiency" next to 4k60 like my 11 Pro does. Is HE no longer required for 4K60?
I assume is HE. He is required. Anyway, having bigger storage is a good thing. Also ram. Don't worry... I don't get how users have plenty of storage with 64GB...im having 128+256 ultra speed stick, also 1 terabyte of photos and videos in like ~2 years since I started filming my little girl. Just bought another terabyte external HD drive... I don't trust cloud services, not because of privacy reasons...

Regarding DV, we do not know yet the bitrate for it...

Wouldn’t be an iPhone release without the local LG guy having to justify his purchase 😂
🤣
You to have appreciate the sheer amount dedication though, he literally signed up to an Apple forum to talk about his lg, this is what happens when you make trolling an entire lifestyle choice, this is the Pro Max of trolling, top shelf stuff, sit back and be entertained!

well I have been getting the 256 storage phones for a few years and it’s never more than half full. My phone is our families main camera and we have two young children. I didn’t know what to expect HDR/Dolby vision file sizes to be so I played it safe and got 512. But based on what you’ve posted regarding file size, 256 would have probably been fine.

It looks like there is no way to turn off Dolby Vision but leave on regular HDR is there? Not that I mind, I am a huge fan of Dolby Vision.

Is that screenshot of the phones camera settings that I have been quoting yours or did you get it from somewhere?

I will buy the 12 pro max. Justify purchase... I'm rocking v50 with campfire Solaris IEM headphones, 1500 USD, without taxes... Now that's way more than any iPhone... 🤣

Idk if I'm going to keep it... Though...

I really couldn't care less how much you spend on your devices, you seem to have missed the point.

So there it is, it's HLG HDR with DV grade. Nothing spectacular. Power of marketing.

Is it confirmed it’s just HLG? How do we know?

Yup. HLG with DV profile 8.3 which makes it even worse cause your device might need official update to support such profile. I mean it's great it's HLG, much better than HDR10 cause it gives you way more flexibility.

Hi. Sorry for late reply. It is my stock camera app. In 1 fps shutter speed video mode it can capture enormously more light as you have seen in the example. And it can shoot video in that 1 to 60 fps mode by adjusting only the shutter speed. 4k HDR 10 then in post you can make a video at 30 or 60 fps from those 1 fps ... These kimd of videos are for presentations and cant work well with recording actions...

First issues?

Hi guys! Another day, another leaked info.
So 4K HDR 10 BIT DOLBY VISION AT 60FPS bitrate is 37.9 Mbps. Is this a joke?

It seems that if the movie leaves the device it gets automatically converted to 8 bits. It is indeed 10 bits, BUT also 4.2.0 and 59 Mbps. LG since 2018 is doing it in 80Mbps. Nice try Apple.

Couple of things:

1. This is pretty much your own thread to drone on and on about your precious LG phone. NO ONE CARES.
2. To once and for all address your original reason for making this thread. The iPhone 12 phones contain the first cameras ever to record video in Dolby Vision. THAT is the ONLY claim Apple was making. They in no way said they were the first phones to record in HDR or anything like that. Their claim is specifically the Dolby Vision part and to that degree, their claims are 100% accurate. Even though it has been stated already, Dolby Vision does NOT require 12 Bit. Dolby Vision CAN be up to 12 bit, but does not have to be.

Matter of fact, if you buy a movie on 4K disc that has Dolby Vision, they often are mastered in 12 bit. We just lack the equipment to see it but the data is there on the disc. Someday we will have players and TVs that can actually show it. But I digress...

Please, please stop going on about the video on the iPhone or your phone or whatever. Your original claim is 100% wrong. Apple's claim is exactly what they said. Stop finding every little thing to nitpick and post about.

Dude, are you OK? Seriously, you seem to follow me on every single thread.😂

DV is not an acquisition format. Any 10bit video can be turned into Dolby Vision in post.

There is so much misinformation regarding whole Dolby Vision and Apple madness.

Look what Forbes is writing, they got no clue what they were typing.

Verge is talking about PQ HDR which has nothing to do with what iPhone 12 is doing to transfer to Dolby Vision, it uses Gamma not PQ. In the end they do acknowledge that 8.4 profile has nothing to do with PQ but still why go there in the first place.
