Every device in my experience. I had an 8 and an 8 plus, different build weeks and factories and both impacted.

And before everyone jumps on me, I know, two devices isn’t ‘every device’!

Mine is just fine. I’m not going to update to this iOS update for fear that it might break it. :D

Wondering if 11.0.2 resolves my speaker issue in apps/games. Tempted to downgrade to test. Both Apple employees I reviewed the issue with today could hear the speaker pop (it isn’t mild) and said that is not normal.

For those interested

Is anyone else experiencing a crackling static noise from the earpiece during facetime or cellular calls? Strange thing is this noise happens randomly, roughly 1 in 3 calls. This is happening on iphone 8 plus.

UPDATE: Issue has since been confirmed to be fixed in 11.1 developer beta. Wait for official release.

Yeah me too Iphone 7 plus on 10.3.3 not even 11.0

No more crackling static noise on my iPhone 8 Plus . But still anxious about the inflating battery phenomenon that has been reported. Thanks God Yet my iPhone does feel smooth on the edges but I read someone on a different topic that has reported such as a space between the screen and the body of his iPhone around the sim card area and it’s very scary

Ok fingers crossed. Updating my phone now.

Good news!!!!! So far no crackling. Yessss. :)

Might be good to update the OP and the thread title that this should be fixed as of iOS 11.0.2

I updated to 11.0.2 and the noise is almost gone. I don’t know if I have a hardware problem too, but the noise is still there during calls. It isn’t nearly as often, but it’s a high pitch crackle/pop that is almost uncomfortable after a while, and I am on the phone a lot. I have AppleCare Plus, so I’m not too concerned, plus I’m impressed with the progress they made with this update.

Happy to report after 4-5 phone-call test its gone for me...

Will make some more test calls tomorrow but so far so good-

This isn't good. Was hoping to re-buy the 8+ since the battery life on my 7 is so much worse. I guess I will have to keep waiting. :(

Leaving iOS PB 11.1 to go back to 11.0.2 to test for in-call crackle and crackle/speaker pop in apps.
[doublepost=1507086481][/doublepost]..like I said to the Apple Tech.. this is a lot of work to get a $1,000 phone to work.
[doublepost=1507088990][/doublepost]Only made one call and in-call crackle wasn't there. My speaker pop is still there in apps in 11.0.2... should have stayed on 11.1.
