You could always buy a new MacBook to play it on :D

But my firewire hard drives would be redundant

I still love the fact that the original CM has been cited in divorce cases.

Maybe I'll download the demo after all and give it a go... Who need to go out/sleep anyway!

Well the 3d mode officially won't work on my MacBook 2.16ghz with GMA950. Thankfully my new MBP will be arriving in a week or so!

I think I read that there will be a patch on release day (Nov 14).

Only Mac OSX 10.5.5???

Just read on the Sigames website that the demo runs on 10.5.5....

Are you guys telling me that my 1 year old MacBook cannot handle this?

If true, it really SUCKS!

If your MacBook is only a year, it should have Leopard. If it has Leopard, why it's not 10.5.5?

Demo runs on my Macbook running Tiger.

Well, it runs but I can't do 3D and it has that right-click issue affecting all Apple laptops.

Ah very typical.

A release day patch for Football Manager. Not available for Mac.

And currently no support for the MacBook Air.

Really?! Where have SI said this? Or do they just hope you buy the game and then discover you can't download the patch?!

anyone got an idea what time the patch will be out? its a joke that you can buy a game and not play it straight away because once you right click you can stop it!! Stupid Football Manager!

For those of you who are old school Champ Man fans, this article in the Guardian today is brilliant....

Great article, this was my favourite bit:

That's what Mark Collis and Ferrah Orosco, who worked on the game, did in the 1993-94 end-of-season edition: both were put straight into lowly Cambridge's team as fully fledged England internationals. Reports that Graeme Souness tried to sign them to play alongside Ali Dia at Southampton three seasons later, after a tip off from Roy Race, are unconfirmed

My team (Stockport County) have always been quite lucky in the CM series - Andy Welsh, Mike Flynn, James Flood, Aidie Mike, Didier Agathe (the latter never actually playing for us in real life before going to Celtic) all went on to be world-beaters.

However, SI have made up for it by making us absolutely turd in FM09 :(

You mean you can play FM09 to find out how crap Stockport are?

Well, I meant on the demo. I'm gonna pick up the game tonight at the GAME next to my office.

Forgive me for this blasphemy, but in this age where the walls that supported the old prejudices are being knocked down (Black president of the United States, Fifa 09 being better than PES 09, etc), is Fifa Manager 09 any good? If this version of FM09 goes tits up I might betmpted to give it a shot.

Well I can't get onto Sigames.com or their forums, so no idea if they a Mac patch out or not.

Has anyone got their copy yet?

I picked up a copy earlier – I struggled to get on the SI website but I can now, no sign of a Mac patch yet though.

I've started a game, although I've yet to play an actual match – I take a bit of time getting shut of players and staff and sniffing around for new ones. I'll keep you posted of any problems I encounter.

Hi Guys,

I was incorrect when I said next week - it missed testing deadline so should be imminent. My mistake - sorry for any confusion

I'll go edit my post

Yeah it was a typo - I meant day and put week - I was pretty bombarded at the time. I'm sure Miles said v.soon

Sorry guys, unfortunately we have come across some problems with the Mac version on certain graphics cards, which means we will be unable to release the 910 patch tonight. We'll keep working on these issues and get the patch out as soon as we can. I don't want to give you an ETA as I cannot guarantee it will be met at this stage.

Apologies once again from all at SI for not getting the patch out to you today.

.

As I understand it, it's a PC only feature denied to us poor old Mac users. Basically, it renders your game totally useless. Once again, us Mac types have been left shortchanged. :p ;)

In all seriousness though, at the moment I'm just having a poke around with a couple of teams, trying out tactics and stuff. I'll hold off starting a full, proper managerial career until I've installed the patch.

Marc Duffy of SI Games has announced that the patch will be out on Monday now.

Looking at the big fix for the patch it is huge! Obviously a little 'bug' with the Tottenham scouting system. If you scout DeFoe the reply is:

DeFoe would make a good League One striker

Someone at SI having a bit of a laugh?

Jebus. The reaction on the SI forums is a bit intense. Its depressing that with all the hunger, disease and corruption **** that's going on in the world, the only thing some people can get passionate about is not being able to play a £25 game for a day or two.

This game is far too important to some people
