hello guys

i'm new here, just bought a mac on the weekend the new 2.4ghz macbook, along with fm09, my favourite game, all i want to know is if i can make a virtual image of the disc so that i don't need the cd to play all the time, im currently ripping my cds to mac so would like to play fm whilst doin such a tedious task

i know it is possible in windows, but obviously wanted to know if it can be done on mac

any help would be very much appreciated

I must admit to being a bit baffled. All the stuff I've read from SI (including the statement pknz quotes a little earlier in this thread) states that an Intel processor is required, PowerPC Macs won't run it at all. Maybe, for some reason, the demo was Universal but for some technical reason or something they made the full-release Intel-only. Strange.

If I've been wrong and have been doling out dodgy information, my apologies.

EDIT: I've just been looking on their forum and in a thread on system specs they state...

Mac System requirements
The game is currently only being supported on Intel Mac's only, and the minimum requirements are - OSX 10.5.5, Nvidia Geforce 7300 / ATI X1600 Radeon. 1GB RAM.

Bizarre.

I saw that too. The only logical conclusion is that my PB has Intel Inside™.

My friend told me about creating a disk image using the disk utility

so i am trying that now, hopefully it will let me play the game by mounting that disk rather than having to have the cd in all the time

hi guys i ll be real happy if you could help me out.
i just brought my first mac today and installed FM 2009, unfortunately even though it does install it without any problems, it gives an error msg before starting the game.
the error msg is this;

the application football manager 2009 v 9.1.1 f 26950 quit unexpectedly.
even though i installed the patch it still gives the same error msg.

does any of you encountered this msg? and what was your solution? thanks in advance.

Anyone know if you can (and how) run genie scout on a mac?

Also anywhere to download face, badge and kit packs for the mac?

i know this is probably a really stupid question, but im going to buy this as a christmas present to myself :) i was looking on some game websites to look at prices, but i could never find a individual mac version, and when i can the screenshot has the windows logo on it.

where did you lot get it from?

thanks in advance

is there are performance difference between os x and windows (bootcamp)? Will 2D mode work fine on a macbook gma 950?

Do you have any links, where I can download the game? Not with cracks, just download the .dmg file or a file I can use to install the game on my Mac?

a mac dmg hasn't been released yet, im assuming you're talking about torrents however there are plenty of pc versions.

btw is anyone running this on a netbook? is there any fix to get resolution 1024X600? cos the scroll is getting annoying.

does anyone know where i can download this game? i can only find PC versions and no mac versions!!

I tried it out the other day. It will work on GMA950 but make sure you turn off the 3D match cameras in settings before you start your first match or it will bring your entire mac down. You would think that it would detect that its GMA950 and turn that option off by default. I say this every years but Sports Interactive are not very good at what they do and I have first hand experience. I still can't download the Mac 9.2 patch because the link seems to download an .exe file.

Can we just confirm- does the game actively run on PPC, despite the system requirements?

The full game, not the demo, that is.

Has anyone tried running FM scout on darwine?

Ive heard it works but i cant get it to.

Not really sure how it works mind you tho.

Any help out there?

There doesn't seem to be a downloadable MAC version. You have to buy a boxed copy. SIGAMES have a list of a handful of retailers in just a few countries.
I'm not really sure what you're supposed to do if you live outside those countries and have a mac.

Anybody else find that after eventually downloading the 9.2 mac patch that the 'injury bug' is just as prevalent as before?

Every match I get another injured player out for at least one month. I have 3 or 4 players for each position to cover the losses.

Right now I have 8 players out for over 1 month each.

Its a shame I am not surprised about it.

There's actually a working scout (and soon-to-be editor) called FM09SX that you can use instead. Also available here, but not sure if it's the latest version.

Can somebody please tell me how I install skins/logos/player faces on this? I don't know where to put them!

In Documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2009, you should see a "graphics" folder. Just stick them all in there.

Does it work if you play it in 2D or text commentary mode?
