What number do you call? 1-800-My-APPLE ?

::edit:: I called - they didn't proactively offer it. I said it doesn't take a month from you guys usually,is there anything you can do for me. He said nothing, but then i just asked if they could upgrade my shipping and he said he's be happy to do so.

HHM

Glad to hear that. They should do it for everyone in view of the long delay in shipping.:D

Ordered on the 3rd of March and I still show.... This is US ordered.

Not yet shipped
Product Qty.
IMAC 24"/3.06/1TB/512/SD
Custom configured

Ships: Apr 14
Delivers: Apr 15

same.
I think 2.93 is being prepared for shipping whilst the 3.06's are not yet. I think those living outside of U.S. are getting "shipping", but yet they aren't getting theirs til after april 15.

Agreed. I wonder why the 3.06's aren't being shipped yet? Interesting I think. Must have a shortage of them.

Call them up and complain about the delay and they will give you overnight shipping. Sounds like you paid for expedited shipping (Fast Shio)????

I just called and the person I talked to had no further information other than they are shipping in the order taken. I pushed him a little and he could say nothing other that was shows on my status. So the question out there is what date and time did those who received notice of shipment order the iMac. He also mentioned mine was shipping from the US... I do not think he had any real information as I asked if he could confirm that they were in fact shipping and he said no... So I will continue to wait for the email he said I would receive.....
You don't have to complain. I called them up and told them, "I'm really anxious to get my new iMac, and I was wondering if it'd be possible to change my shipping to one day instead of 4 days."

and the guy did it for free ;o

so those who say they are shipping... why are you so happy that it's being shipped on........... april 16, or 15th?

Is 7 days shipping the standard in your country? I mean, if they can get a computer to me from shanghai in one day, they can certainly get it to europe as well.

and to the guy in shanghai... you proved my theory correct, that nobody will receive it on the 14th unless they live in shanghai.. lol :D

Great.....Now you guys have me constantly refreshing my order page....LOL

Mine was ordered on Mar 3, 2009 at 08:54 AM PDT. Still showing the following for shipping though:
Ships: 14 Apr
Delivers: 21 Apr

For me the shipping was on 27th April and arrival on 4th May that is why I am happy :D

I reckon is delayed because Friday and Monday are holidays here, and I didn't choose the express service as token for the delay but iWork gratis

Anyway the important thing is that it is on his way... :)

im just wondering for knowledge does anyone know how long it took for theirs to go from processing to shipping?

shipped

have watched this forum with interest. live in UK. Ordered 2.93 with ATI card on 24th March. Order has shipped though still in Shanghai. delivery approx. 14th April by ups. This seems to contain all the info being asked for at the minute

Ok I just called Apple to try to get free shipping upgraded. I basically said that I am annoyed at the delay and that I will be out of town on the 24th (delivery date) and need to figure out a way to get the product sooner specifically for the trip.

He promptly informed me that he can upgrade the shipping BUT I MUST PAY FOR IT.

I'm going to call again and try with someone new. Why do I always get the people who don't kindly upgrade like everyone else...:(

**EDIT**

Ok I called a second time, got a new guy, and again tried the strategy of being annoyed at the delay and he again said he can upgrade shipping, BUT only IF I PAY FOR IT. Annoyed at this, I asked straight up if I could get it upgraded for free, and he said, "No, because you ordered through an employee." AHHHH so that's the reason. So lesson learned folks, if an apple employee orders it for you under their discount (which is greater than edu discount, it's about 15-20% versus 10% edu) then you can't request the shipping to be upgraded for free.

Nonetheless, it was interesting to note that the first guy said 1 day shipping would cost $35. 2nd guy said 1 day shipping would be $28. 2nd guy said he could put in a request to have the order "shipped earlier" (whatever that means, he said it may heed no results), and that my iMac would ship from CA. I live in OH. Both guys confirmed the 4850's are indeed shipping in the order the orders were received.

Ordered March 7th,
Original Shipping date: April 20th
Original Delivery date: April 24th.
New Delivery date: April 21st

Might help when posting to give configuration, order date, and country being delivered. :apple:

I've been following this thread since its inception, and I was amazed at the bickering, speculation, and complaining about when the 4850 would be delivered. As expected, Apple came through within the specified timeframe. Over the years, I've grown to trust Apple and I firmly believe that you can expect to see a piece of hardware when they say you will, if not earlier than advertised (the 4850 wasn't delivered early, but many products are).

Very true, but it is fun reading while we wait, at least those of us not yet receiving shipping confirms...

I have also been following this thread. However, Apple is not always on the ball. Here's my tale:

I ordered the G5 with liquid cooling (PowerMac G5 Dual 2.5Ghz) back in mid 2004. I ordered it with the "buy it now" button and was originally given a delivery date about 3 weeks out from the purchase date. As time went on, Apple pushed the date back several times until my final wait for the machine was about 2 months. As it would be, the first batch of G5's that went out were defective in some way, and the liquid leaked. I got a 2nd batch, but still...a full 1month delay on the product sucked. A lot.

Sorry to burst your bubble of Apple, they certainly are not perfect. Since this iMac is my 2nd machine from them I've purchased, which also had a 4-6 week delay (although it was expected) I'm never expecting to get my Apple machine within 1 month of ordering it. bad luck on me I guess.

This would contradict all other speculation as yours is a 3.06 and shipping to Canada. AND that is was ordered on the 4th, which means they are not shipping in the date ordered sequence... So much for that.... Will continue to amuse myself waiting for the confirm to show up.....

Well I ordered the 3.06 on the 4th in the UK and no indication that it's prepared, let alone shipped. So I wonder what's going on with mine as I've seen ppl saying theirs has progressed and they ordered at the end of march!
It had better change soon or I'll have no fingernails left!

Maybe LarryMarshall2 has a point. Appears to be no rhyme or reason to shipping sequence. Go :apple:.....

I haven't ordered mine yet. I guess I'm waiting to see the verdict on the HD 4850 card from everyone but I have configured one and in the past it always gave me either a estimated 3-4 or 4-5 week (sometimes longer) delivery estimate. Today in the check out process I'm getting a 7-10 business day delivery estimate for the configuration below. I'd say it looks like things are starting to move and I'm looking forward to everyone's take on their new iMac with the ATI Radeon!

iMac, 24-inch
Part Number: Z0G3
1.0TB Serial ATA Drive
iWork '09 preinstalled
Apple Keyboard with Numeric Keypad (English) and User's Guide
Apple Mighty Mouse
ATI Radeon HD 4850 512MB
COUNTRY KIT,IMAC 24
3.06GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
4GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x2GB

Ships: 7- 10 business days
