This is the same configuration I ordered on March 9. My ship date is still showing as April 20, though I confess I keep hoping it will be moved up a little.

I hope that it won't be delayed more weeks...
 
Even if they are a couple of weeks late, depending on where you get it from you can usually get them to throw in some free stuff. My gf got a free laptop bag with her MBPro worth $100+ last year after it was 3 days late. If my iMac is 3-4 weeks late like many of you are suggesting I think I'll be asking for a free cinema display lol!!

I'm not sure how firm this new delivery date for me is as I can't check the order status myself. I purchased mine through a university reseller who is tracking my order. I rang up yesterday and told me the new delivery date although I'm not sure if it's delivery or shipping but the guy said "delivery date".

I'm hoping it's the delivery date because that means I'll have it next week!!

Unless the guy is a compelte moron and got March and April/May mixed up.

That's what the guy told me.

I'm gonna call again on Monday just to be sure, but yeah he said 31 March for my 24" 3.06ghz with ATI 4850.

No way, he wont get it any sooner than those who ordered through the Apple Store.
 
I doubt that he'll be receiving his when the "guy" said he would. That guy has no idea what's going on with 4850.

I want to hope that it ships, because it leads us to believe that they're ready...but I just don't see it happening.

They still show 3 to 5 weeks for the 4850 configuration in the Apple store. I suspect once they resolve whatever is holding them up, they will ship in mass. As I mentioned, they want their money.....:D

Of course... ship estimated in "3-5 weeks." I paid extra for a 2 day shipping, first time I've ever done that. Probably not worth the 30$, but hey! 3 days sooner for my iMac. I'll buy that. I'm hoping they'll drop the shipping date some... but eh. I don't expect to get mine sooner than you guys do.

I ordered mine on March 18th with a ship date of April 22nd and an arrival date of April 28th. It's still listed standard shipping. Did they upgrade yours?

Mine is a replacement for my old one i purchased in oct '08 and it went wrong with constant freeze ups and crackling sounds,Anyway i spent four months with the tech support guys and the repair place and no one could fix it.
So they fianally decided to replace.

Mine has been on that status from the beginning maybe because it's a replacement....
 
Guys, I am ready to order my imac with the 4850 too...

If I order today will I still have a 5 week wait ? or once they start shipping in 2 weeks time, will my wait time drop ?

Still speculative..... They do not have a confirmed date when they will start to ship.

Mine still shows ships April 14 delivers April 18. I would be surprised if it ships exactly on April 14. I would further speculate that once they start shipping, the scheduled delivery times for many will change.

But that is only speculation, which we are all doing here....;)
 
Just got my order confirmation/acknowledgment email. Still shipping date of May 4, delivers May 6. At least they know I want one, haha.

I just went onto ATI site to see if drivers are available for 4850

When I went onto http://www.ati.com to see if drivers are available, usually you can download a set of drivers for the new cards fairly soon. However for the Radeon HD 4850 Mac O/S there were no drivers available for download at this time. Could this be the hold up for all the iMacs with the ATI Radeon HD 4850 512MB card?
