Ditto...I'm in limbo too.

I echo this post. I thought this was legit, and am sitting here now about to go nuts about the fact that I've likely been taken. "Dennis" and "Neil" have been elusive and unprofessional and have disappeared in the past 3 weeks. I sent a money order after "their machine wouldn't take my credit or debit card" and that was my mistake. I'm not giving up ALL hope--yet. But it's going to be a long time before I get over this one if I TRULY have been taken and robbed of $1400.

Buyer beware. Be VERY ware.

Use the FBI Fraud Web page and the BBB to tell them this was a fraud.
Maybe they can help us..

Kiko

already on it!

thanx Kiko...I'm doing what I can...i tried to email you last night, directly, but I'm not sure if it went through. I'm writing a thorough report for the FBI page even as I rechecked this forum. I've notified my Credit Union, from whom I ordered the bank check, and have also notified the Blaine, WA Chief of Police. Though the FRAUD himself could be anywhere, there is DEFINITELY somebody there helping, if not the jerk himself getting sloppy...I know this because SOMEBODY signed for my bank check and I have the signature thanx to FedEx. More later....In the meanwhile, if you would like to keep in the loop on this, or talk more privately, write me at enentrup-at-mac-dot-com

I am glad to see someone finally taking this to the authorities. There are many on this thread who have had experience with macWhiz.com or macmastershop.com. If the authorities need more evidence, we would be more than willing to provide.

I stopped and came to post on this thread when I was told by Neil that my excellent credit card "was declined" and I checked with my credit card company but no one attempted to authorize the amount for the iBook I was "buying".

I came upon this thread last night and am sick to my stomach what this guy is doing to the Mac Community! I read every single post and feel very sorry for everyone that has become a victim of his fraud. I am glad however that you are pursuing him vigorously--please don't let up until he is in prison or Hell--preferably Hell!

I can't believe his new website Macmastershop.com is still up and running. It is OBVIOUSLY FRADULENT!!! I noticed on the payment page it says "We now offer 1% discount for orders paid with wire-transfers." That is unbelievable. What do we need to do to get his new website shut down?

I can't believe the authorities haven't caught him yet.

Any way I sympathize will all the victims and please keep the pressure on him.

judgment is forthcoming...

Hang in there gang....he shall go down. And hard. Till then, we need to keep it quiet so he keeps his head above water....I'll report more later....if you care to continue dialogue, email me. enentrup"at"mac"dot"com...I would like it if any other victims (such as myself) would start talking with me.

a step in the right direction

FYI... froogle no longer shows macmastershop results for various Macs i've just searched.

i remember someone earlier who had contacted them and they didn't take any action back then... well, now that's at least one less source for people to get suckered in.

I just froogled the "apple 23" cinema hd" and it gave a link to http://www.macmastershop.com/cgi-bin/store/commerce.cgi?keywords=50089603 .. saying it's $1599. Too good to be true, of course, and I remembered this thread.

So, the site is still up, and still findable via froogle.

Macmastershop is gone...?

Does anyone know what finally got this guy and his webslight shutdown? I hope he got some well deserved incarceration. :D

While I'm glad the bastard is gone, I'm also really curious what happened.

Did he get busted and sits in a jail cell? :D Did he just set up shop somewhere else? Some MACxyzSHOP that we haven't found out about yet? Or did he just get enough money from scamming innocent people, is wiping his traces and laughing at us from the Caribbean now?

Does anyone here know more?

holy crap... his name is Dennis too
Dennis Charalambides

"Sorry, we are currently experiencing an overwhelming amount of
phone inquiries due to our 'free shipping' offer. We are not taking orders over the phone at this time. Please visit our FAQ's page for answers to the most commonly asked questions."

Lol. and he only has one phone number

Would he really use his real name if he's scamming people?

i thought about that too. But read this whole thread. i think it's possible (earlier they say taht the guy they wired the money to was dennis chira-something and on that new site its the exact same thing)

Holy Cow!!!

Holy Cow!

I can not believe this!!
The same s**t all over again! How long has this been going on now? This bastard is laughing right into our face! How can he be so bold, feel so secure to just do the same thing all over? Macmyassshop!

We need to do soemthing!!! And fast!

Has anyone actually informed Apple yet? I'm gonne do that right now. At least I believe Apple has some sort of price control since every legal store sells for about the same. Hopefully Apple will be interested at least from that angle...

Dude, they even put up a picture of "Dennis"
http://www.macfanaticshop.com/images/dennis_new.jpg
$10 for the one who finds out where they stole that picture from!

Another $10 for finding the real warehouse that they put here:
http://www.macfanaticshop.com/images/warehouse.jpg

I'm serious! I WILL send you a check!
It wouldn't be the first time they stole someone else's pictures, just read back in this thread (pg 3 or 4)! anibalcascais you wanna give it another shot?

OK $10 or 10€ (x2) - I can actually do both.

i just read and visited the so called website and i think it is awfull , i really think this jerk needs to be taken down . maybe if this thread is posted on the homepage of Macrumors to let ALL mac users know about this we might get heard?

Has apple any knowledge about this site or other sites like it?? if not why not.

why would anyone feel the need to put a picture of the back end of their warehouse on their store's web site anyway? Lame.

Yeah, exactly...so damn cheesy.

OK i c. "Elevated" is the adult arm of "Assurance", see very top line above the site menu. All the way on bottom, it says for both "© 1996-2003 Assurance Hosting". Interesting that Mr. Macfanatic is apparently registered as an adult site...

Strange though that there's no contact info on either of those sites, only a "ticket-based support system". Or am I blind?
