What you will or will not accept does not matter. Apple makes to rules for it’s warranty, not you.
LOL the law makes the rules for warranty. Within 14 days you should expect a brand new device. After that Apple is still supposed to live up to the standard. You can't really deny a white box after the 14-days as a retailer is not expected to provide a new device, they just have to repair it at least.
Actually no, for me at least it is the Canadian consumer protection regulations. Too bad in the US they make it seem like you are a special snowflake that they are making an exception for.
Hello friends, I’ m from Italy and I have a hair on the top camera too.
Also a dust point on the bottom one.
Don’t know what to do? Genius open the phoe and clean it? Or what? I do not want a refurbished iphone.
Btw hair and dust Are not a problem wheh i take a pic.

This seems to be a problem with the x. I have had 2 of them with specks of dust in them. I made them replace them. I’ll be damned to pay $1000 for a phone with **** under the camera lens...
It doesn't look like a hair, that looks like it could be a fiber from the factory conditions, aside from the dust. Unfortunately it happens, but if Apple sees it in person, they will replace it.

It's not just a problem with the iPhone X, it's a problem with any factory conditions that have open elements to expose them with fiber/dust. The majority don't look at the camera lens cover for dust or debris, some are just more particular about their phones on a tech forum.
If you are still in the warranty period for any iPhone you'll get a new phone in Europe AFAIK, there were already know cases in The Netherlands for instance, Apple gave them a refurbished one but she took it to court and she won.
Since I bought it from a shop different from the Apple Store, and it has been more than 14 days since my purchase , I cannot return it anymore.
So i have two solutions:
1) keep the iphone as it is, with the “hair” inside the lens (it isn’t a problem qhen i took pics)
2) ask to genius bar for an exchange iphone (100% it will be refurbished)
... paid 1189€ for having a refurbished phone?!?!

just paid 1150 for a 64 gb X.
We don’t have Apple stores here in Beirut,Lebanon . My device is under warranty for 1 year just for hardware malfunction.
I bet if my screen malfunctions or something else happens the shop that I bought from installs a fake not Apple manufactured hardware.
You guys are lucky to demand new devices and stuff.

It is the law the forces Apple to do that, not the kindness of Tim Cook.
But there are other retailers who have a similar 14 day policy that don't Obide by their policy and/or try to cause frustration for the customer regarding why the return. Apple has some one of the easiest and most transitional return policies in the tech industry without all the underlying details that other retailers don't tell the consumer. I think that's what Newtons Apple is saying.
It IS the kindness of Tim Cook to give you an extended return time during these holidays.
My freeking Phone has a hair and some dust! It is a SG X 256gb. I will go to Apple and get it replaced! Here in Brazil it is not allowed to replace for refurbished.

Good luck buddy ..i posted on this thread a while back about not being able to do anything if we buy a defected iphone here in beirut because we dont have apple stores. My X turned out good but after reading this thread i checked my friends’ X and there was a hair in the lens ,its not affecting picture quality but he’s pretty pissed.The store didn’t take it back as expected.
Usually that's useless because of static with the hair/fiber is almost fused to the glass.
