I understand but I don’t have any Stryd too few users to invest in this kind of niche.
For your information, speed and distance are mainly coming from pedometer sensor, GPS has limiter impact if your watch is well calibrated
If you want to try a Stryd, let me know, I have a spare one laying around.
It isn’t the latest model, but maybe it would be enough for you to develop the app.

It's not that there is no GPS signal, but that interference is being introduced. You are in a city, but according to your geographical position, you are far outside the city in the forest. Because of this distance, the runs are very inaccurate.
Hi, interference introduced by what ?

One shot development is one thing, but don’t forget support !
Stryd is not directly using HealthKit, and I suspect a lot of headaches to mix native workout data and Stryd inputs.
Stryd won’t fix wonky gps route, when you export to Strava or something else, it’s mainly gps data with fixed distance/speed.
I have tried to look quickly into Stryd api and I don’t see something dedicated to build 3rd party workout apps on Apple platform
So it’s not super simple …

Interference with GPS is caused by the Russian armed forces (protection against UAVs). War.

No GPS track is required. GPS is needed to determine the approximate location (city, town). The exact distance and current pace are required. With interference, the track turns out to be ridiculous, the distance is inaccurate, and speed intervals are simply unrealistic.
Do we need such a track GPS? It looks like "crop circles". (see the screenshot 1)
Metrics from the Stryd sensor are added to metrics from the app (see the screenshot 2)

I understand your concern…
I have no solution for now, workout apps need a correct gps signal.
I can’t predict how it would behave with a Stryd and a so rock and roll GPS 🤣

Thanks for the reply. I hope that in the future you will be able to find a solution and support the Stryd sensor. I'll be waiting

8))) The main thing is that politics doesn't stop me from running.
Buy a device supporting Glonass instead of GPS (Garmin ? oh no, a US company 😆 )
By the way, you have what you deserve. Whining about not having GPS or Stryd while so many people are dying because of this situation, demonstrate a certain selfishness and cynisism.

I have an apple watch + Stryd. I don't need Garmin.
And I'm not whining. There is a forum here where you can talk with the developer of the program, if you need to talk about political topics, turn to television and radio, they discuss this issue there.

It should. This is one of the issues with your country. As long as you can continue to do what is only important to you, who cares how many thousands your country kills. And then you expect support ?! Amazing.

I think we can stop discussing this here.
It’s probably easier to give lessons when you live in democracy…

To come back to the subject, I sell YouRace Pro 7€ (calculate how much I get from Apple…), I don’t have a lot of « pro » users and I have even less users who use Stryd.
I am alone to develop on my spare time, I need to select my priorities.

I have released YouRace 4.4.0
It doesn’t look very new, but there are a lot of internal changes.
For people who are interested in internal stuff:
- The iOS app has been optimised, RAM usage has been divided by 4 !
- The app (iOS and watchOS) has been fully migrated to Swift 6 which brings a lot of compile time checks to avoid errors like data races and concurrency issues.

To prioritise reliability, I have made very few feature changes :
- navigation animations change on iOS18
- a circle on running map showing an approximate distance

I hope more visible things will come in next release !

I just left you a review on the App Store.. There was talk of having a "no display" mode.. How is that coming along ?

It's an idea I have for long time, not very hard to do, but not done yet ...
The goal is to run without looking at data, just a black screen for data, no notifications (but I keep music control and buttons).
For "zen" runs, just with your feeling.

I have just published vers 4.4.1 with one requested feature: custom heart zones
It's available on the iOS and watchOS app

Simulator Screenshot - Apple Watch Ultra 2 (49mm) - 2025-01-15 at 08.13.53.png

I have also tried to fix some remaining issues ...

I have published a new release, version 4.4.3. It's mainly focused on bug fixes and stability improvements.
There are some new features like
- new metric to display current or next interval information in plans
- possibility to dismiss notifications with digital crown
- filter your workouts by date in iOS app

A new release (4.4.5) is available with:
- enhancements for running map view, the distance circle is now more accurate
- new setting to customise the notifications popups duration

Hi, I just returned to using YouRace, and it really has come a long way. Amazing.
My only request (as an older runner) is that when customizing screens for the AW that YouRace fill the screen real-estate. So, if I only display 2 data fields, the font is much larger than if I display 5. I do struggle to see the YouRace screen without my glasses.
Thanks.

Thanks for your feedback
You have the "simplified" layout which shows less data in larger fonts.
But I know some people want more customization.
My goal has always been to fit as much data as possible with the largest possible fonts....
It's not something easy to create a full flexible screen with dynamic font sizing on a so small screen (think about 40mm).
Some metrics are very short and can support large fonts, some are large by design and are hard to fit in screen.
I will try to improve that, but it's not a super easy job, and it needs a lot of testing to ensure it fits well on every watch variant.

OK. Thankyou for the quick response. I will check out the simplified layout. I was just tweaking the Ultra screen. 👍

Edit: That works great. I have no idea why I didn't think of that before. 🤯

Great !
The Ultra screen has a lot of metrics, but it requires good eyes.
I don’t like it very much, but it was a requested feature.
Everyone has different needs

Hello, a new release is available with the following new features:
- You can now turn off the double tap action on the running screen if you prefer to use only the physical buttons.
- When following interval plans, you can customize your display to show target heart rate and speed for the current or upcoming interval.
- To minimize battery usage and improve performance, you can now choose which running dynamics data to collect.

Hello @rbart . I used YR for a walk yesterday for the first time. Normally, I use it just for running. I notice that the regular interval notifications (set to 3 mins) showed my average pace as 5:26m/km and my heart rate at 56bpm. But the general display showed my true pace as 11:25m/km and heart rate as 84bpm. Why are the interval figures wrong or am I doing something wrong?

It’ because you haven’t noticed the « minus » in notification screen which displays the delta between target and actual value
