I see what you mean, but it can be very complex to implement.
Maybe one day, but it’s not in my priorities.
I try to keep it simple to avoid users confusion and bring features that are not used a lot.

Now, I focus on watchOS 11.
Next step is to check if offline maps are working, if it's fine, it will be a huge improvement for battery life and for people who don't have an LTE watch !

Some super interesting enhancement with YouRace and watchOS 11: offline maps !
You just need to use native Apple Maps feature on iOS18: select a region, tap on sync to Apple Watch and it’s done !
You will see the map in YouRace without any network connectivity !

More tests tonight but it looks super promising !

I confirm, I have tested it yesterday in a night workout, with LTE off, offline maps are working very well.
There is just something unclear, in the iPhone Maps settings, you can set a preference to use downloaded maps as much as possible (even when connectivity is available). I am not sure if it also applies to watch ...

Hello @rbart
I came back to AW Ultra 2 Black after 6 months with Garmin Epix Pro.
I mentioned, that you added extra line to Ultra theme, so I will try run with YouRace tomorrow. Now I can see 8 metrics including current time.
When I installed app, I played only with iOS version and there is no Ultra theme in app. I need to install app to my Watch and configure it from there. Do you know this?
Do you plan Ultra theme also for series 10 watches as they have bigger display then Ultra?

I will post more experiences after few workouts.
Thank you for great app!

For the ultra theme, you need to run the app on the watch first to detect the watch type you own (I haven’t found a way to detect it from iPhone apis)
Maybe I will add this screen on larger series 10, but honestly, this screen is a bit hard to read, I have added it because some people wanted to have that but I am not a big fan…

So, I ran today with YouRace and it was total disaster.
Firstly, when I started app, all my previous settings was gone, so I need to configure my metrics again.
Then after first kilometer popup appears and never disappear. I tried everything. Touches, buttons, pause, nothing. Only after another kilometer number changer to 2 and then to 3. After that I lost my patience and switched to Apple Workout and finished my run there. After my run I need to force close YouRace. Instead of cca. 4,4 km I have saved 3,5 km and without map.
Don't know what happend, but I need an app I can rely on.

Sorry, for this issue.
It has been discovered by some people on watchOS11 but I can't find a way to reproduce it ... I thought it was fixed ...
I will dig again into it, I understand your disappointment ...
For all people with YouRace Pro, I encourage you to enable "Auto save" feature. If your app crash you will be able to restore a workout with route.
watchOS 11 has a lot of problems with simple APIs that are broken ...
Which watch do you own ? The 2 people who have this problem have an Ultra 1.

I have completely remade the navigation in next release. Maybe it will help …
Believe me, it’s à nightmare to fix issues you are not able to reproduce…
I understand this bug is not acceptable for users

So the bug also occurs with an Ultra 2, not surprising, I don’t see understand why it’s not widespread

After reviewing and reviewing my code which has not changed for notifications for a while, I am convinced this issue has been introduced by watchOS 11.
There are 2 possibilities:
- I am building YouRace with Xcode 15 instead of 16 to have the same binaries as during summer and hope the problem comes from the last SDK
- if the issue is from watchOS 11, I can just hope Apple will fix it in new releases ...
But as I can't reproduce it, I don't know how to fix.
If anyone here is able to trigger the issue, I can send a beta version built with Xcode 15 to see if it fixes the problem.

Salut,

I had a quick look and it doesn't appear that HealthKit supports the ability to enter in the "Effort Rating" after an activity ? Would be cool if you could add this.. I think you can read it.. but I don't think you can enter it except from the Workout App itself.

You can go in Apple Fitness app and rate your activity afterwards so it's integrated in your training load.
I haven't seen an API to make this feature available for developers.
I will look into this later, once I have fixed the annoying but of notifications freeze some users meet.

A new release is coming (at Apple validation), I hope it will fix this issue.
I have always put reliability a the top of my priorities, but I also have to face some Apple issues without their support.
Of course, most users haven’t problems, but I recommend for everyone to enable the autosave feature in YouRace to avoid most risks of data loss.

Thanks, may be I will try it on walk. The last thing that I afraid, that I don’t have Ultra theme on phone and my settings disappears again.

Unfortunately, the issue is not fixed.
For the first time, have been impacted by the issue myself.
For now, I recommend to disable the lap notifications until it's fixed.
I will completely rework the notifications another way, as the one I have used for 3 years without problems is not reliable anymore in watchOS 11.
I am really sorry for that ...

@rbart - I ran this morning with YouRace, but I can’t close the app. My run is saved, so that’s okay. I’m on the latest version.

It's the same issue as with notifications, but I have seen it on this screen.
The screen becomes unresponsive for an unknown reason.
I am spending hours trying to figure out what happens, it has clearly been introduced by watchOS11 ...
Of course, I find no documentation for this, and if the bug is limited to watchOS and not iOS, the developer community is smaller and the feedbacks are more rare.
WatchOS 11.0.1 has fixed a bug about screen disabled on S9/10/U2, but it's not this one ...
I suspect there are remaining issues ...

If I remember correctly, then the last version didn’t have that problem.

This issue is not always reproducible, that's why it's so hard to fix.
I have never seen it in simulator, I have never reproduced it in debug mode...
I am completely blind !
