Some news
I have rebuilt YouRace with the previous version of Xcode 15
I have made a dumb test run with 80 notifications in 30mn without problem.
I will try again tomorrow, but the issue seems to come from the SwiftUI framework embedded in Xcode 16

I have done more tests after rolling back to Xcode 15 SDK, and I haven't managed to reproduce the screen freeze bug.
A new release is waiting for Apple verification to be available on the AppStore.
It's the only workaround I have found ...
Of course we lose some minor Xcode 16 features like themed icons for dark/monochrome mode, but I wanted to make YouRace reliable again as fast as possible.
Lesson for next year: wait before adopting latest SDKs !

YouRace 4.3.5 is available, I wish it will fix the notifications issue.
By the way, I have simplified the settings to remove confusion choices:
- auto save while running is ON for pro users
- possibility to put screens all horizontally to swipe with finger is removed, now the data screen are always stacked vertically and can be changed with digital crown

It brings simplification in code…

Ran this morning, only 5k, although it seems to work.
another thing - when running in a group where we all run the same distance, the Apple Watch is always of by a bit. I use a Garmin Fenix 8, and the rest of the group are also mostly wearing Garmin. Why is it of?

Each watch use its own method to calculate distance.
For Apple Watch, it’s not only GPS, it’s a mix with pedometer.
It’s an Apple secret recipe…
Maybe your watch needs to be calibrated ?

Unfortunately the issue is not fixed, I have raised an issue at Apple support
I have seen people complain about the same issue with other apps like stryd …
It’s an Apple issue, in watchOS 11 and I have no real solution for now except disabling all notifications while running.

I had Garmin Epix Pro for 6 months and on same run Garmin measures 16,16 km, Ultra 2 measures 15,95 km.

I have just pushed a new release with a new approach to workaround the notifications issues
I am more confident but…

Hello, since YouRace 4.3.6, does anyone have been impacted by the notifications issue ?

It seems to work 👊🏻
althoug, it takes ages to save a workout. Ran an easy run today with my team, some are recovering from Budapest and somer are starting to taper for Valencia, but it takes a long time to save the workout.

Saving times is not related to the issue some people met.
But I will double check that.

I don’t understand the numbers here…
Garmin has my warmup at pace 5.03, but YouRace says 7.54. I’m I doing something wrong here? If I compare to Garmin, all the numbers are way off. I know that interval number 2, there I forgot to lap🫣

Strange …
Can you look at duration/ distance for each interval and check if it’s consistent with Garmin?
Sometimes, intervals are not precise when they are short, it it’s not the case here

@Psdn, have you made some pauses during your different segments ?
Pause time is included in segments (not in km laps)

The app has been updated.
Only one new feature: when you follow a route, you can tap to zoom on the elevation chart.
I have also fixed some small bugs.
I am currently trying to not add features but clean code as much as possible.

YouRace 4.3.9 is available on the Appstore.
I have mainly focused on bug fixers, codes cleanup and internal changes.
First start may be longer on iOS due to data cache cleanup.
There are some new features:
- you can set estimated effort at the end of the workout or later in iOS app (it's Apple effort value, synced with HealthKit).
- manual and plan intervals are separated in charts
- rollback to apple activity intervals for interval plans to enhance compatibility with Apple fitness app
- new time/distance selectors for interval setup

Sounds good 👍
I like that I can set effort in the app🤩

Regarding intervals: will you make the warmup open? No time or distance, so I can lap when ever?

You can already make any interval "open", including warmup and recovery.
Just set "manual" in interval duration setting instead of distance or time.

@rbart - I’m getting some weird numbers regarding altitude. Elevation is 6411 meters according to workout data, but looking closer at Speed and elevation, it says max altitude is 20meters.

@rbart Good afternoon! It is a pity that there is no Stryd sensor support. This is an important moment for me. GPS is not stable in Russia

Elevation measured during workout comes from altimeter. The one shown in stats comes from GPS.
Altimeter should be better, but for some reason, some very important deviation can occur.
I do some filtering, but it’s not always sufficient

I understand but I don’t have any Stryd and too few users to invest in this kind of niche.
For your information, speed and distance are mainly coming from pedometer sensor, GPS has limiter impact if your watch is well calibrated

It's not that there is no GPS signal, but that interference is being introduced. You are in a city, but according to your geographical position, you are far outside the city in the forest. Because of this distance, the runs are very inaccurate.
