Some (bad) news…
I have serious health problems for some weeks, so, I have no time and energy to work on the app for the moment.
The current version is working well on watchOS 9, so there is no urgency to push a new release.
I hope I will recover soon and continue my journey with YouRace and all of you!

All the best for a speedy recovery.

Hello all
I have published YouRace version 2.5.4 with only one change: the support for the Apple Watch Ultra 49mm screen.
For the moment, the action button is not yet supported (need more investigation in poor Apple developer documentation).
watchOS 9 new metrics will come in a future upgrade (power, ground contact …)

Thanks for a great app and I wish you a speedy recovery.

This is a question for anyone who uses the race calibration feature. I know it snaps to the closest distance when you double tap, but I’ll be running a Canadian race soon but think as an American. If I have the app set to use miles, will the calibration work by kilometer markers or do I have to change to metric to get the feature working? Thanks!

If you set it to miles, it will adjust to miles.
So I think you must use miles if the race is measured in miles …

I have just published to the AppStore a bug fix release: YouRace 2.5.6
Apple has broken a lot of thongs with Xcode 14 and watchOS/healthkit apps.
So I have rolled back to a more stable situation ...

New metrics for watchOS9 and series 6 and more are under development ...

I have released yesterday YouRace version 2.6.0 which fixes an issue for some users not getting Pro features on the Watch after buying the upgrade.
This version also includes watchOS 9 optimizations and is preparing for a next release that will display new metrics fors Apple Watch series 6 and upper.
I have also added a new button to force settings/plans sync between iPhone and Apple Watch in case the auto sync doesn't work.

Thanks for keeping the app up to date! Any idea when the action button will be implemented? Would love to use it with race mode to quickly mark mile markers.

I have just published YouRace version 2.7.0 with new watchOS 9 metrics for Apple Watch Series 6/SE and later.
You can now display instant and/or average values for:
- running power
- vertical oscillation
- ground contact time
- stride length
You can get average values into the YouRace iPhone app. Graphs will come in a later release.
For the moment, you can already display graphs using Apple Fitness app or other compatible third party app (HealtFit ...).

I have almost finished the implementation of the "Action button" on the AW Ultra, but I need some beta testers in Test Flight who use such device.
I can't test on a real device as I don't own one ...
For the moment, it's a basic implementation, you can directly start a workout with the action button, then you can mark segments with the action button.
You can also pause/resume by using both action button and normal side button.
I will add more customization to select a specific workout type (free, race, intervals ...) and a specific action for the action button (mark segment ou mark kilometer for a race ...)
If you are interested in testing, contact me by PM or at yourace.app@gmail.com
This version will be available in the coming days.

YouRace 2.9 is in beta test on test flight.
No new feature in this release, but a lot of changes under the hood to prepare for future versions.
I have focused on performance and stability with a lot of code refactoring…

Version 2.9.0 is now available on the AppStore.
It requires iOS 15.4 and watchOS 8.5 minimum due to massive usage of last HealthKit api with Swift concurrency support.

Happy new year for YouRace users !
I am testing a new release (3.0.0) with some interesting new features !
- New UI design for the watch App with 3 modes directly available on the first menu Normal/Race/Plans
- Change Normal/advanced screen vertically with the Digital Crown (only on watchOS9, like new apple app)
- For Ultra : more action button customization (start race or normal run, end the race with the button)
- New RACE mode with options to disable the 3 seconds countdown and the auto-pause
- configurable drink and food reminders
- display current interval name at the top of the screen while training with a Plan
It will be available in TestFlight very soon

Love the new UI elements, 3 screen options, and ability to disable countdown. Quick question. What's the difference between a free race and free run? If you do a race without a distance, it won't have a predicted finish time so I'm trying to understand what it's used for. Could you have the action button start the last used race distance instead for race mode? That's what Apple's pacer option does and that might make the most sense.

In free race you can adjust distance with the 2 side buttons (or double tap, or action button).
In free run, you mark a manual segment.
When you start a free race, you can apply specific race settings (disable countdown, disable auto pause).
I will also probably add some pace alerts in a newer version.

A new release is available in TestFlight with 2 new features :
- customizable watch complications and iOS Widgets (also on Lock Screen) for iOS16 and watchOS9 only. You may have to select again the complications on the watch.
- sound notifications are also played in Bluetooth headset (not only voice alerts).

I hope it will be soon available on the AppStore (Apple is currently very slooooooooow to validate )

A new release is coming to TestFlight for beta users !
New features:
  • you can now start or create a interval plan while running (or pausing) without stopping your workout (not available in race mode).
Do a long pressure on the metrics screen, select "Interval plans" and select or create a new plan you can use directly.
  • drag your finger on charts to display values (speed, heart rate ...)
  • you can disable sound notifications (Ding) in your headset

It also includes come bug fixes and minor improvements.

You are putting a lot of effort in this app, while I don't own an apple watch, I honor your willingness to diligently maintain an app for over a year.
