Would be great to see those improvements ported on the 10.12.6 drivers, I have seen stats, it's not like people are rushing to move to High Sierra!

Never going to happen. NVIDIA only actively supports the latest OS release, just like Apple. The best you're going to see is a minor update to match the new version number on a security update.

How does one go about installing web drivers for a GTX 1070 without a second Mac in the house?

Ive heard that the web drivers won't install unless the GPU is installed, but no where am I reading that?

I'm on 10.12.6.

I may have answered my own question. I just installed the nVidia web drivers using an RX580. Looks like it works. I guess it's just a simple swap at this point with the GTX 1070 gets here?

FYI, the build number of OS X 10.11.6 after the new security update is 15G17023.

No changes to the BootROM or SMC on a 2012 Mac Pro..

[doublepost=1509482864][/doublepost]I just downloaded nVidia driver 378.10.10.10.15.121, will try it with OS X 10.13.1... (the machine was running 10.13) nope, defaulted to OS X internal after 10.13.1 update.

^^^^Thank You AGAIN!!!! Well, this is a first. 10.3.1 is still not available for me. Not in the App Store and not at the Apple Download Center. So, I have the Web Driver available BEFORE I have the OS Update.

anyone happen to have the updated CUDA link for 10.13.1?
current CUDA driver is 9.0.214, but that needs an update

thanks, wasn't 100% sure. will wait a few days. auto-update hasn't been working for every release and usually need the DMG installer.
[doublepost=1509557558][/doublepost]was just prompted with an update available, downloaded and installed from the pref pane, now at CUDA Driver Version: 9.0.222... but pref pane still saying "update required"

^^^^But, it's (9.0.22) now:

CUDA 9.0.222

And after my installation, Cuda CP is reporting up to date:

Appears there was a registration issue with the NVIDIA Web Driver installed via the preference pane update. Re-installed from the WebDriver-378.10.10.10.20.107.pkg downloaded at http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/126538/en-us and everything works fine now. Not sure I've ran into that particular issue before with the updates.

FWIW, driver 346.03.15f10 is out for 10.11.6 (15G17023). Previous driver was broken by the recent security update. I installed this version from the System Preferences pane. Installed without problem.

Your link is not for Mac OS.
Driver 378.05.05.25f03?
I get a black screen. It doesn't work. :(

Since the last driver(f03) for Sierra didn't work from the System Prefs pane, I won't take the risk.
I can't find 346.03.15f10 with google and it is not displayed on the website of MacVidCards.

Has anyone experience performance/stability improvements with the web drivers from 10.12 vs 10.13 with a GTX 1070/1080?

Yes.

If nothing else, NVIDIA (like Apple) treats the previous OS (10.12) as a legacy platform and will no longer be actively changing the drivers. You'll basically get the same driver rebuilt for any new software or security update, no additional bugfixes or anything like that. It's generally advised to stick with the most recent version of the OS to get continued driver support.

Theorically, yes, but more details about what started to work that didn't before, FPS improvements, etc would be more helpful.

Can someone give me advice about the latest webdrivers from nVidia for Sierra and El Capitan please? (security update 31 october)
Sierra Driver 378.05.05.25f03 gives a black screen with my Geforce 980 and El Capitan driver 346.03.15f10 is not visible in google or at the website of MacVidCards.
When I installed Sierra Driver 378.05.05.25f03 I didn't get the message that the new driver isn't compatible. Unlike other installations the setting was now after the first boot webdriver disabled. When I rebooted with the webdriver enabled the screen remained black. Please help. TIA.

Update:
When I use screensharing I see that the Geforce 980 is no longer visible in the nVIdia prefs pane.
Instead pci10de.fbb is displayed.:(

Are you experiencing performance or stability problems? If so, you should absolutely upgrade to 10.13 ASAP. The 10.12 drivers are done at this point, zero chance that any of the issues you're experiencing will be fixed for that OS. Similarly, if you are experiencing specific issues, you should post about them here as we know folks from NVIDIA read these forums.

The main game I play is World of Warcraft, and it is so much better on 10.13 on my Maxwell and Pascal cards.

A kind user from www.onemorething.nl solved the problem on Sierra. I had to reset the PRAM and re-activate the driver afterwards.:)
Can someone give me a download link for the new webdriver for El Capitan 31 oct security update?

Head's up for anyone using the NVIDIA Web Drivers and occasionally switch back to the OS X Default Driver: there is an issue with the CUDA Driver Version 9.0.222 and the OS X Default Driver, with CUDA reporting that an update is required when using GPU Driver Version 10.26.6 355.11.10.10.15.102 in mac OS 10.13.1.

When switching to the NVIDIA Web Driver from the NVIDIA Driver Manager, this CUDA issue is no longer present.

Doubt it's a major issue for many people here, but when I run into stability issues I do switch back and forth. More of a problem on MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013) than Mac Pro 5,1 at the moment.
