Hello all, I've been reading these forums for a long time and join them to write I sold my iPhone 5s to them for $85 was very fast and they were really nice id recommend them in a heart beat.

Make that “3 users” with the post directly after yours.

Not exactly reputable, eh?

I also love the "I've been reading a long time but just was compelled to join since I have to express my happiness with this company giving me 95 bucks for a 3 year old phone" defense... I can say that with 87 posts in 11 years, but come on...

Where there's smoke...

I was just trying to help assure them to not worry. Most on this forum seems nice, sorry for trying to be nice I promise I'll just stick to reading this forum from now on thanks to you friend.

Well, I just registered here to tell you that I mailed my mint condition iPhone 6 to gadget gone on June 16, on the same day I mailed another phone to iGotOffer. iGotOffer received my phone 2 days later, and I had a payment the day after it was received.

June 25, I tracked my package to gadget gone to find that it had been delivered and no one had communicated to me. I emailed support and it took over a day for them to reply and say 'we're backed up'.

July 3 now! No further communication, no payment, nothing. I emailed the support person who emailed me, this Patrick guy, and the generic support email just now. I'll update you if I get a response but I really am not holding my breath. There's no excuse for them to take this long to pay a customer when I have a tracking # that tells me the phone was received and has been in their hands this long. Unbelievable.

[edit: unrelated - igotoffer paid me $73 for an iPhone 6 that doesn't even turn on anymore. All other sites offers ranged from $15-30. Was really skeptical about that, as well, but they turned out to be really pay as promised and quickly. So, I don't feel the offers being above average should always be a deterrent. Poor customer service, however, is going to really hurt Gadget Gone even if they do end up paying me.]

Update! I received a response today from Gadget Gone. They originally offered me $315 but they claim that the phone wasn't in mint condition and attached pictures as if there were scratches or scuffs but I didn't see anything. Regardless, they offered me $295 and I was like yeah that's fine and they just issued me a check. Because I've read the thread and know you're all skeptical (I was, too, and getting pretty upset that they stole my phone), here's a picture of the check - I just scribbled out my name in the account/banking numbers on the bottom.

Wait, you communicated with them via email and have a physical check the same day? What am I missing?

Sorry! I should have clarified. It's an echeck. You print it out. The other options are paypal and a check mailed to you, but a reviewer said not to do paypal because you get charged a fee, so I went with echeck.

so we trust maebykate? Wheres the skeptics trying to shoot down her positive experience??? j/k
thanks all for your efforts in helping small business owners and people who need money.

I hand delivered my phones to the destination address. It's now 5 business days later today. I only have the auto-response from GadgetGone, no confirmation of device receipt. losing faith...

Hey guys! My name is Patrick Haney and i'm the owner of GadgetGone LLC. Just wanted to chime in to give a little info about myself and GadgetGone. For starters and contrary to popular belief I am not from Bangladesh (though i'm sure it's a nice place). I grew up in a small town called Brooksville, moved to Orlando to study business at the University of Central Florida and started GadgetGone in nearby Oviedo a short while later. I totally get the apprehension of selling with us and I know it's a little nerve racking to send your iPhone off to a relatively new company. My team and I take a lot of pride in providing our customers with a great experience and I think that's reflected in our customer reviews. In regards to how we can pay such high prices, that's really our differentiation strategy. Gazelle doesn't need to offer top dollar prices because they are such a well known company. When most people think of selling their iPhone they think of Gazelle; and Gazelle has paid a fortune in advertising to make sure of that. Our customers are generally people who know what their iPhone is really worth and want a fair deal. I haven't checked out Gazelle's prices in awhile but if you're talking about a $100 difference you're probably talking about an iPhone 7 or 7 Plus. Right now those are the models with the highest value and the most room for price variance. Also, I appreciate the feedback on our website and i'll take that into consideration moving forward. We'd definitely like to get a new site soon but custom web design for buyback websites is extremely expensive and there's a lot involved in making that transition. I hope I was able to clear up a few things and if anyone has any additional questions feel free to shoot us an email and we'll be glad to help!
Are you just buying iPhones? Trying to sell a Macbook Air. Thanks

Gagetgone is the best--I recently sold a iPhone5 to them, and much to my surprise they sent me $20 more for my phone than I expected--I thought it was a 5--turned out to be a 5s, so worth $20 more--I would not have none the difference.
Not only that, there offer was more than anyone else, and they communicated as to where in the process my order was
Thanks Gagetgone

I recently left a position where I was bound to my outlook inbox by incessant questions mostly concerning issues that had solutions working but not yet completed. These interruptions often were unnecessary time-consuming annoyances, so I typically lay off the send button when I think my recipient may be in a similar position. but without much prodding, a GadgetGone representative answered my emails with great speed and clarified my opinions on the condition of my devices. Being more generous than they are, I rated a couple goods as mint. after agreeing on condition a check was emailed in just a few minutes. I would only ask for more communication to keep caution from turning into suspicion. I would do business with them again.

has anyone used them? Came across them looking for options to sell my iPhone and they are offering $100 more than gazelle. Are they trustworthy?
I've used GadgetGone. Received $60 for my completely fried iPhone 6s Plus. First time using, so I made sure to take a million pictures of my phone before I sent it to prove myself in any negative experience. Didn't need it, they emailed me once they received it and kept in contact with me until I received my payout. Payout took less than 24 hours since I chose to receive it via PayPal.
Hope this helps if still searching.

[doublepost=1504808788][/doublepost]I'm thinking of selling my devices to them but they don't give instructions like if the phone has to be carrier unlocked and cleared out. Do you happen to know?

Also this individual with the handle "cursivelie" just registered to post on this thread about his great experience with this site in question.
That along with those questionable reviews on "trust Pilot" would make me stay far away.
Just a heads up to others.

So, I heard back this morning. They sent me an electronic check for the full amount offered on their site. (which as OP stated was about $100 more than what gazelle offered.) I was super skeptical when I sent my phone in, and even thought I was going to regret it. Everything turned out great though and I would gladly and confidently use their services again. I wanted to make sure to update this, because I agonized over this since there are very few reviews that seem legitimate online.

I also chose the e-check option and had no issues cashing it using mobile deposit from my phone.

My phone was fried, therefor it was neither carrier unlocked nor cleared out.
Once they received it, I was only asked to log into iCloud.com and remove it from my list of phones.
They do list in the FAQs section that they would like for you to delete your data.
It does not have to be "unlocked".

Yes, very weird posts and situation for sure.
All these people are compelled to create new user accounts with picture avatars added right away off course just to post on this thread. One claiming is a grandmother with a cute dogie in the pic :D Who wouldn't trust or believe her? :D
A dude with a cool nose piercing, a young woman with glasses on along with her twin sister next to her, another one with an avatar of a toddler, another with a young redhead lady :D
Too funny.

@Applejuiced : This thread is filled with newbie accounts who swear they’re legit but have posted fewer than 5 times and only on this thread. I mean, that’s probably legit, right?

And, statistically speaking, most random internet users generally flood forums to PRAISE how AWSOME companies are, right?

New record for, minimum 30 posts on thread, highest % of posts from newbie accounts?

Yes, I did just join.
You, at some point, were "new" too.
Why does my join date remove any credibility?
I've followed MacRumors and these forums for years looking for decent "inside" information on things and have appreciated all comments regardless of members statuses.
I guess if deciding/trying to be a part of the "inside" is going to be like this, I'm not sure I want to be a part of it.
I'd take floods of "newbie" information over skeptical, judgmental internet trolls any day.
Ps. My picture is of myself and my wife.

I too noticed that they all took the time to add avatars!

In short, yes. Amount of skin in the game increases credibility. Lack of input detracts from it. Seems pretty basic.

Great. I'm glad you have enough faith in anon internet humanity to trust everyone exactly the same. Maybe I've just been around too long, or I just know better than to trust the random newbie the same as the guy/gal who's contributed to the forums thousands of times over a decade.

Ok.

Skepticism isn't a bad thing, especially when people's hard-earned money is at stake AND IT'S THE FREAKIN' INTERNET. We've been around a while and have learned to spot when posts and accounts seem suspect. I won't apologize for seeing something that fits the pattern. Some can take this for what it is, and some--it seems--take it personally. Thing is though, we aren't the ones name-calling.
