Being a wireless earbud fan & very curious on this techs progression, I’m interested in people’s impressions on Samsung’s “v2” of their Bluetooth buds.

They seem to be reviewing well. Audio quality, range, battery & touch controls appear to be getting praise with initial impressions (no thorough reviews as yet).

Though, with people here about to purchase them or lucky enough to be getting them free with their S10, it’d be good to see how they fair over time.

So far, the only negative seems to be the battery life of the case.

They look...chunky in the ear. Maybe it’s just the white ones, but they give a ‘cauliflower ear’ look. Maybe the other colours look better.

The dual microphones seem a clever idea, with the buds auto-switching to the inner microphone when there’s a lot of ambient noise...phone calls should benefit here.

Feel free to plonk your comments here.

The battery life on the case isn’t as good as the AirPods case but the fact that I can charge it up on the S10 plus mitigates that. It’s fast wireless charging too.

Early reports suggest the sound is very good and has noise cancellation and away From your phone it’s similar to air pods. Working 6 hours on a single charge is good and as mentioned with reverse wireless charging that will help when you are short on battery life.

Did I read correctly that the case only provides 7 hours? If so that’s a major fail. That’s merely 1 extra charge..... most truly wireless units out there provide 2 or 3 extra charges from the case.....

It’s amazing what companies can do when they can disassemble competitors’ technology and to replicate it for themselves. Typically, not as good, but “good enough” for most. It is nice of them to ship with their phones.

Bottom line though, it’s good for the market and to maybe put Apple’s feet to the fire a bit more? One can hope.

Is it fast wireless when charging from the S10 using wireless powershare? I could’ve sworn I read it’s limited to 4.5 watts.

I have the previous version of the Galaxy buds aka iconX and I have no complaints. Case doesn't hold a very long charge but I have it plugged into my car at all times so it really isn't an issue for me. I only use them at the gym.

The only downside to Galaxy Buds compared to the icon X is that it's doesn't have internal storage. But if you have a smartwatch, then you can put some music in there instead and connect the Buds to it.

Will see when reviews come out but early impressions are good overall

It’s been described as fast wireless charging but I haven’t seen the wattage anywhere. It might just be something like 7.5 like the iPhones.

I think some reviewers are making the comparison between the speed of Samsung’s fast wireless charging compared to the one on the mate 20 pro.

The whites seem to be given out fruitfully by Samsung to youtube reviewers in bulk. The Blacks' seem to be more subtle and actually HIDE ear hair that us grown men have to deal with every 3days to pluck. AirPods ... caused me to purchase specific tweezers for this ... but the bonus is the ladies love the attention to self care so not hating lol.

Cauliflower ear .. sorry that's a masculine thing. Personally I don't want to be Frankenstein with electrodes extruding out my ears like that of the Frankentstien on Monsters (back in the early 50's). So I hear where you're coming from.

No you did not read correctly and your math stinks lol.

8hrs in the case, 4-6hrs in the buds.

* Bluetooth v5.0 (LE up to 2 Mbps)
* Profiles; A2DP,AVRCP,HFP.
* Talk Time: Up to 5 Hours / Typical Usage Time: Up to 6 Hours
* Case capacity: 252 mAh / Standard Buds Batt capacity: 58 mAh (4 charges and then some)

I think they do have onboard storage just not as much:
8GB on-board storage

https://www.androidpolice.com/2019/...s-on-the-galaxy-buds-and-galaxy-watch-active/

yet I could be mistaken with the on-board storage.

Every single review I’ve read online and every single review video I’ve seen on YouTube states that the case provides an extra 7hours of charge.... I don’t need a math degree from M.I.T to determine that from 6 hours on the headphones to an additional 7 on the case that’s just slightly over 1 additional charge. They could all be wrong but I doubt it, this is coming from a bunch of people who have done extensive tests on the actual buds.

https://www.androidpolice.com/2019/...the-right-notes-and-offer-great-value-at-130/

7 hours of additional charge is less than others offer, but that’s the price you have to pay for it to be this pocketable.

Didn't Samsung have wireless buds before Apple anyway? If that is what you are getting at... or shall we conveniently ignore that...

Pretty sure they are referring to the pop up for pairing that looks conveniently like the system Apple came up with for the AirPods.

AirPods owner here, (And no, I don’t care about all the ‘Who copied who’ rhetoric).

The reality is, the earbuds are really nice, and more than anything, the big differential, is the more ‘discrete look’ with the earbuds in your ear versus the stems sticking out with the AirPods. Now, I don’t have a problem with the AirPods and how they protrude down, but to me, the more ‘in ear’ design and being offered in black are selling points. The reverse charge is a convenient feature, probably not a necessity for me, but also, the fact that you can customize each earbud to your liking with the equalizer/high/low’s and which notification specifically you want addressed are added bonuses.

It has been confirmed, (though I have yet to try) that you can charge the s10+ and wirelessly charge the buds simultaneously from your phone.

This is a small feature but somehow is going to make life so convenient. Don't need to bring extra cables for your watch or headphones, when you travel.

That's the first thing I tried when I got mines. :D

I'm going to purchase a pair. They look like they'd have a better seal than the airpods. My airpods keep falling out and I have to wear clips (which eventually start hurting my ears) to keep them in.

I had the Jabra 65t active (essentially the same design as the galaxy buds), and while they absolutely create a better seal than the Airpods, they eventually gave me headaches from the amount of pressure the rubber tips exerted. So that might be something to watch out for. Even switching sizes didn’t help too much. Hopefully your buds work out better!

Yes, but in practice it doesn't work well
My guess is that everything sounds kind of hollow when this is on?
