Just read something surprising, apparently the Note 4 takes 64 gb microSD card maximum?

edit: ah, it was the same with the Note 3. Still surprising though.

The note 3 supports upto 128gb sd card, so will the note 4. If they were to bring out a 1tb sdxc card tommorow both phones would support that too.

The note 3 can take a 128GB micro SD card. I'm guessing that the note 4 can too. According to this or can

I think it's because the Note 4 has larger internal storage? Seems odd though a the S5 and the Tab S can take 128GB cards.

But I don't think it matters as the Note 3 can take 128GB cards just fine.

Sorry guys, you're right of course and the official site has the right info too. I read 64 gb max on Phonearena, also GSMArena said so earlier this morning but today they seem to have corrected it. Actually they still say 64 gb max for the Note 3 but now I've read about tons of people who use 128 gb cards in it.

Anyway, as you were please, all is good in the world

It is indeed 128 GB expandable. This infographic is strait from Samsung. I am loving this phone more and more I read about it. Taking an honest look at everything else out there, nothing even comes close. Cannot wait.

Just curious, why doesn't Samsung use that cool notification system HTC uses where it just lights up the notification to take up almost no battery instead of turning on the entire screen? I was just at the mall and was the first time I saw one of those HTC cases with all the holes, I didn't realize you can answer a phone call with that case still closed, talk and everything. Very neat. This is something OLEDs can do right? I wonder why Samsung doesn't do it.

It seems they have something kinda similar happening here:

Probably doesn't have the cool swipe functionality that the M8 cover has though, and the holes seem to only cover a small part of the front. Looks kinda half assed

Interesting, at least they are making an effort.

Does anyone know if there is a technical limitation why Samsung can't have selective lighting on their OLED displays? Things like only lighting very few pixels for notifications and such would be nice, maybe even an always on mode like the Moto has. Such a huge advantage to OLED but it seems Samsung doesn't use it. Are there at least apps that use this function?

I must say I was VERY impressed with how the HTC used the OLED display. I would definitely consider the HTC over the Note 4 if it wasn't for the stylus.

I'm guessing they do have selective lighting since they have those S View covers, but they could definitely do more with it. That M8 cover is awesome but it got a lot of bad reviews because it didn't have a magnet or any other mechanism to keep it closed. Actually neither do the official flip covers for the Notes, but it seems Spigen have come up with a kinda funny fix for that. :)

What I really miss for the Note series so far is a really premium back and sides cover in leather, like the fancy iPhone one. I've been searching for something like that for both Note 2 and Note 3 but not found anything that comes even close.

Those flip covers are so massive, I couldn't stand to have such a thick bulky package. Nice part about the Note 4 is no cover needed, although that HTC cover is very svelte and very tempting. I just can't get over how cool it was having the cover light up and being able to answer calls.

I think you're mistaken spinedoc--the HTC One has an LCD display. How it operates is very different from something like the Moto X which only activates small portions of its display because OLEDs allow that. On the HTC, the entire display is being turned on when used with those dot hole covers--it's just that only the part of it that's needed has graphics underneath the holes.

Ahh, so the HTC dot case doesn't save any battery? Very interesting, in that case I just completely lost interest.

But could the Note 4 do the stuff the moto x does?

I was seriously thinking about the 6+. Not anymore. Maybe the Note 4 now.

I don't have time to read this thread to pick up precisely on this conversation, but as an android user, I believe Android is an inferior OS. I can't even get gmail to open up on Chrome in Android! Both are google products, you'd think they'd be compatible. Now that Apple has large size screens, I am switching when my contract is up.

Why not just use the app?

Yeah the back on my black Note 3 is nice feeling, doesn't feel like plastic at all. It's got this kind of rubber leather feel to it.

I don't remember mine like rubber, more like very soft :) i really liked it and 1 of the 2 things i hated are addressed now with the Note 4 with the metal bands giving it a much premium feel & look  now i just need that they move the charging port to the sides.

Uh, that works perfectly fine... open chrome and go to mail.google.com and it opens up your gmail account. I guess you're doing something wrong.

On the other hand, try icloud.com on a apple device.

Its more leather than rubber feeling for sure. The metal band is also a huge upgrade for me, I HATED the cheap plastic chrome one. I also like that its color matched, at least the white one is. The black one looks like the metal band is kind of a brushed grey metal which is very nice, but black would have been a bit better.
